Returned my Talon SS, help me decide what to replace it with
I had a Talon SS in .25 cal and just wasn’t happy with the top hat valve design and its inconsistencies in velocity due to it moving around on me… so I returned it to PA. After owning the Talon, I know I want something a little higher end, that is still compact and quiet. I still have my Hawke Sindwinder Tactical 6.5-20×42 scope and am trying to decide which Cricket to buy… or if the Edgun is worth the extra hassle.
I am a little concerned about the process of acquiring the Matador, so I’m leaning heavily towards the Cricket. I really like the skeleton stock, but it seems like it’s $300 more than the standard tactical version. I am just using the rifle to plink and hunt in my back yard… but I have several hundred yards to work with.

Based on my test groups out of my two particular guns the 22 JSB 18s gave best long range groups in the 880s fps range in light to moderate winds. The 25 cal can be sped up to 950fps range and still give same groups out to 200yds as at 885fps.
Better BC in 25 plus pellet skirt more substantial so less deformation
For just $50 more I’ll go with the .25 most likely.
Either gun will be fine but the 25 is the way to go for long range hit especially if you hunt.

At 100 yds accuracy between the two is MOA.

Take a look at this video and watch how stable gun is when firing a shot. A lighter gun does jump around more when shot is fired.
I fitted my Cricket with Synthetic stock from a skelaton and its not that bad at all. (I’m 240 lbs)
With the Edgun there is a bit of a wait and the R3M’s appear to have some indexing issues (not sure if it’s all or just some).
Out at distance (150 yards) I don’t think the difference in groups is going to be that much different and not really critical unless you are shooting purely for accuracy.
The tactical stock is HEAVY, much heavier than you would think, BUT it has magazine storage, which is pretty sweet if you are hunting and don’t want to fish into your pockets.
And i’d go for the 25 long for sure, it’s an amazing caliber.

I have 3 and a half tins of JSB .25 laying around, so it makes sense for me to go for the .25 I think. How much louder is the .25 over the .22 cricket?
I bought them from my local gun shop. He had them for $29.99 I don’t have the exact number off the mounts. I could maybe try to find paper work on them

Do you have a link to the specific model so I don’t order the wrong ones…
I have the Burris High (which seem Low) rings on mine and they are great. They are nice and small not some big block of aluminum

I can´t imagine those UTG Max Strength QD´s cost more than max half of that – if even that much.
Like Coda said those UTG´s are a good choice and sit on a plethora of Bullpups worldwide. I prefer the QD version.
I bought the $65 double strap BKL mounts for the talon, which i can’t use anymore… oh well, at least the weaver mounts shouldn’t go for much.
Most owners choose high or x-high – not for the scope clearance but for the comfort.
Like Coda said those UTG´s are a good choice and sit on a plethora of Bullpups worldwide. I prefer the QD version.

I made a sliding weight that works off an Anchutz rail I embedded into the tactical stock’s fore grip. You can always add weight if needed and with the 25 long there will be more weight to it anyways.
