Returned my Talon SS, help me decide what to replace it with
I had a Talon SS in .25 cal and just wasn’t happy with the top hat valve design and its inconsistencies in velocity due to it moving around on me… so I returned it to PA. After owning the Talon, I know I want something a little higher end, that is still compact and quiet. I still have my Hawke Sindwinder Tactical 6.5-20×42 scope and am trying to decide which Cricket to buy… or if the Edgun is worth the extra hassle.
I am a little concerned about the process of acquiring the Matador, so I’m leaning heavily towards the Cricket. I really like the skeleton stock, but it seems like it’s $300 more than the standard tactical version. I am just using the rifle to plink and hunt in my back yard… but I have several hundred yards to work with.

Fill all four of the mags there´s place for in the holder (especially Plastic Fantastic) and “heavy Bullpup” will get a whole new meaning …
Yeah, I don’t care for the appearance of the bulldog version at all. It might be more functional, but is just too bulky and blocky looking.
The synthetic stock is cheaper but a lot heavier which is why I have the skeletons.

Steve has formally delayed them to summer on the WWAG web site. I suspect it will be closer to the end of summer now. 🙄

A .25 cal IS a WST as it comes fom the factory – no other stock existed until a short while ago and now it can be bought with a wooden “Bulldog” too. If those are not sold as WST´s in US then they change stocks for you Yanks.
Either by the factory but most probably by the importer.

So buy the synthetic .25 for $1599 and buy the stock later down the road for $245… hopefully he can work a deal on it so I can get the skeleton version that I really want.

I’m not saying the one is better than the other. I just don’t feel comfortable sending a stranger 2 grand through the mail. So I am leaning towards the cricket because it’s easier to acquire… Just trying to figure out which model and who to buy it from
Where can i get the .25cal version in the skeleton walnut stock?

The .25 Cricket comes with a couple of 12 round mags. And in Europe it isn´t sold with any other stock than WST (Skeleton) but i´ve seen some in US with a Plastic PLB (the one you refer to as “Tacticool” from a STD length Cricket and that looks downright ridiculous, IMO.
There´s a PLB Plastic stock in the works for the .25 though . Or so i´m led to believe. A woodem version of the PLB already exists.

The UTG 30mm extra highs are cheap and fine from Pyramyd. I also use the Weaver Grand Slam 30mm extra highs. You can buy the Burris if you want to waste a lot of $$$. Since the Cricket rail is parallel to the barrel you don’t need adjustable rings.
