Sounds Like Someone Got The First Lemon

I agree with Keyser the sniper didn’t describe the issue very well on yellow. From what I read on yellow I also was wondering if this was but a long tale to discredit a gun that is getting good press from folks on TAG. Not saying the backyard sniper is a liar but it was not as clear as he has made it. Sniper who did you purchase the Vulcan from?

nothing is like the HW100, seems like in the airgun magazine world you have two choices. A complicated magazine that takes forever to load or an indexing magazine that is difficult to cycle. The HW100 is king, plus the HW100 is ping free. I don’t know of another airgun that can be made as quiet. If we can get Weihrauch to make a bullpup out of their HW100 K model then that would be something. I would buy one without hesitation.

Hi Keyser,
for a while GINB was making BP conversion kits for the HW100 K but now apparently they are out of business.
But the HW100 K is already so a small package that it is almost already of BP size/shape.
The biggest problem IMHO is that Weihrauch never meant to built a really high power airrifle (> 30 ft/lbs).

I was too but tried to resist on these new ones. :biggrinn:
Thanks for review Brant.
I did short count:
Pressure: from 250 bar to 105bar
Shot count: 77 shots / 7 mags
Average: 890fps
That is 145 used bar / 77 shots = 1,88bat/1 shot
I think same as cricket.
I gave up Coda, I just shoot through it now…
So YOU are the Troll ! :angrymob:
It´s like trying to stop the fire by throwing a bucket of Gas on it. Hopeless mission … :butkick:
Some of my sparrows have figured out they are safe on the back of the feeders so I put little blocks back there. 😉 Only three sparrows today during the hour or so I trolled for them. 😛
 Nobody ever gives me any shit.

How about the general build quality compared to the Cricket? Fit and finish? Trigger? Stock?

I would say the metal is the same as the Cricket and the stock is more like the Edgun, my stock actually had a little character, seems like the walnut can be very nice to very plain. Dont expect a stock like the advertisement. the trigger had a long first stage, then felt ok but didnt really have time to mess with it. I was more concerned about how it would group.I was a little concerned that the bolt had a slight gritty metal on metal feel to it. That would probably smooth out with more shooting time. Overall its a nice pup, but I had concerns about the plastic magazine, but was told it is a polymer that is very durable and will last a long time.
I don´t know about your Gun but on mine the metal is much better finished than on any of my Crickets. I had to “clean up” after the factory finish on all three Crickets of mine. The only thing that needed cleaning (and made the loading soooo much smoother) on the Vulcan was the side plate on the load handle side. The edges were sharp. I used a fine file and fine grindstone after.
The trigger is immensely adjustable and i got mine in match – like state now. Like on my Crickets. You need to use all four adjustements and adjust after your liking. The trigger is now sweet and exactly like i want it : No first stage , light and crispy.
The mag is indeed of Polymere and although it seems to work fine i still don´t like “plastic” mags.
And about your earlier burst of anger : There´s no way for us for knowing what sort of a Bozo writes what and where. Since we don´t know you anything´s possible – and these types of “things” have happened in the past – on several occasions. There are people complaining about broken Guns without even owning one , people who are just out for the arquement, Troll´s and idiots of all kinds. How do we know what someone not known to the members of this eminent Forum is for a character ? There´s no way of knowing so we quess and have theories. That´s normal.
Can´t stand that ? That´s your problem and you´re probably on the wrong Forum then . Here we do speak our mind and that freely.

As far as I know, all the “automatically revolving” magazines have the pellets “rattle” inside.
IMHO pellets “rattling” inside the mag is far better than having to use brute force at each cycling on airguns that haven’t a properly developped revolving magazine mechanism.
Once again, as far as I know there isn’t up to date a revolving mechanism on BPs with the same reliability and smoothness as on the HW100 (but then I heard to my surprise that someones don’t like it. When a better one will come out then we can make a comparison).
Thanks – yes the stock in the picture looks like a select grade of walnut and I actually emailed them about any options. The magazine seems to be the main complaint. So far three folks on this forum I know about have the Vulcan’s (One in Sweden and two in Kuwait). I would say they are generally impressed with them and especially with the accuracy. Yours seems to be the first failure but who knows with a little time on any of them since they are new. This is the bleeding edge time on any new airgun. 😛 Every new bullpup on this forum has had some problems. There have been wars fought but most eventually get fixed.

So Octavius – what is your opinion on the Cricket vs Vulcan?
