Q:

Tactical Sniper

Decided to bite the big bore bullet and ordered a Evanix Tactical Sniper in .357 last night the after santa 10% discount made it hard to resist.

I friend that I converted to air guns had just gotten a Rainstorm 3D bullpup, was a hoot to shoot so I had to get my own, didn’t want the same thing, couldn’t afford the semi autos so went with the sniper. :4:

Already trying to figure out how to make it more neighbor friendly 😯

Panda Tactical Sniper : Keep this cute killer out of danger with your superior sniper abilities.

I’m inclined to believe Tom’s numbers, it really looks like they took the quick and lazy way and simply enlarged the port holes and valve with little to no considerations to the extra stresses in the valve area. 😳

To bad DogWood, Evanix should be ashamed of them self putting such “garbage” with such a massive price tag on the market :angrymob: . It could also be a design problem like QVTom on Korean Gate suggested. There is just to few reviews on the new line of Snipers out there to know for sure. My suggestion, they should just hire Manny :biggrinn:

Looks like my Konus scope went south, put another scope I had laying around on it and it still shot like crap.

Still have a very slow leak, can’t hear it but I lost about 10 bar over night

going to try putting the barrel in my friends 3D and see if it works any better there. (thanks for the Idea Nomadic Pirate)

sadly shot the last of my JSBs earlier and will have to wait until next week before the ones I ordered show up.

well, I think we all know how it went 😮

first mag was hitting 3.5″ high at 50 yards, adjusted 2″ down and shot the second mag, first three shots went to the same place as the first mag? added another 2″ down, 4th shot was 1″ high and slightly left, 5th shot 1″ low and 1″ right, 6th shot 1.5″ low and 1″ right
7th 3/4″ high and slight left 😯

third mag, no idea where the 1st shot went., second was 1.5″ high and 2″ right, 3rd was 2″ below that, forth almost in the exact same hole as the second, fifth .5″ left of 3rd. 6th .5″ low and .5″ right, 7th 1″ low and. 5″ right (-all JSBs)

think I’ll stick to shooting round balls at 25 yards and save the JSBs until I can get a SeanMP-TJ barrel :3:

Took another magazine though it to get it to seal completely but it is looking like ti has, can’t hear anything and the pressure doesn’t appear to be changing

Barrel is a big improvement over the previous one, now to see if the flyers are me or the barrel.

finished pumping it up, popped the valve once – hissssss 😯

pumped it back up a bit more and loaded a mag – shot 7 shots, can’t hear the hiss anymore 😎

set it down, going t eat dinner and then check the pressure- hopefully is stays the same

Good work Dogwood, can’t wait for the results.

Finally got my lathe working correctly again, made new valve seal out of PEEK – hope to try it tomorrow

that’s not quite true, I did make mods that meant I could not return it but they where purely cosmetic – ( i scratched up the muzzle brake fitting a suppressor) it wasn’t until the first valve failed that I made any kind of mod that would affect performance.

but yes don’t do anything to the gun that could keep you from returning it if at all possible

Problem with Dogwood he started messing with the gun before even start shooting it, now we never know if the gun was a lemon or he messed something up badly in there.

New Gun,…….. shoot it so you get a baseline and know where she’s at, if something is wrong send it back immediatly if not start tearing into it if that is what you want, at least that way you’ll know if you screwed up

Just curious, why not return to PA and get a replacement gun? Heard others are accurate and good hunting weapons. But also need to remember this gun isn’t for target shooting, but there’s definitely a problem. Just don’t understand why keep buying/replacing parts instead of getting a new gun…and if it’s still the same…then just get a full refund?

I’m waiting for the carbine versions to come in, love the look and the fact it can be be a .50cal repeater. But if mine shot like this I’d return it instantly, had a similar problem with an FX Verminator, only had it for 2 days before it went back to AoA….forever 🙂

Don’t think so, high 700’s, low 800’s

my second valve is toast, won’t hold air anymore

Is the velocity too high?

Knife

Tried to squeeze in one more session before monkey got home – changed the way it was sitting on the bench, seemed to helping a bit, but after the fifth shot i hear HISSSSSSSSSSSS
coming from the breach 😡
time to pull it apart again – I suspect the valve has failed – will most likely be empty by morning 😥
