Tactical Sniper
Decided to bite the big bore bullet and ordered a Evanix Tactical Sniper in .357 last night the after santa 10% discount made it hard to resist.
I friend that I converted to air guns had just gotten a Rainstorm 3D bullpup, was a hoot to shoot so I had to get my own, didn’t want the same thing, couldn’t afford the semi autos so went with the sniper. :4:
Already trying to figure out how to make it more neighbor friendly 😯

I know it can be frusterating, bordering on madening! But in the end, it can be very worth while. And you will have the satisfaction of having done something for the first time, that no one else has tried yet! 😉

Wow man, now you may have 2 barrels,good-luck on the 50 yarders.
Chopped the last couple of inches off the barrel, cleaned it up and pushed a pellet thru, came out clean.
Fired a couple of grps with the 105’s at 25 yards – OK grp (1″) where as earlier they grouped poorly.
figured why not since I’m waiting for the new barrel :whistle:
might try some from 50 off the bench and see how it does….
I will be getting a TJ .357 air gun barrel at some point in the future as I really want to be able to shoot bullets
Man, I was really interested in Evanix rifles too… Not going to lie, the problems found w/this rifle and some others have really turned me off- I loved the idea of an affordable semi-bigbore too… Please keep us updated!!! I hope the barrel comes in soon!

Sent a email to Boris last night and got a response this morning, he has my barrel and is going to forward it to me, should see it in a week or so :fishinghole:

going on the first rock chuck hunt of the season, taking the trusty MROD 22 – not sure I would be able to hit anything with the sniper :butkick:
bit bummed as I really wanted to use the .357 😯
To bad, I had some important questions about the GTK-SP and some other stuff. Now I might go through a vendor to get the answers 🙁 Glad you will get a new barrel :biggrinn:
Could be, I sent them an email and never got a reply – that was over a month ago
Keep us updated. How long does need Evanix to reply to an email? I send them an email, on both their addresses, 10 days ago, still no reply :confusedn: Maybe they only reply to vendors.
Just go the word, Evanix is sending a new barrel for me.
They also confirmed the barrel is choked 😯
Once I get the new barrel and if they don’t ask for the old one back I’ll do som experimenting with it 😀
Want to see if cutting of the choke helps with bullets
Got a reply from PA, they’ve forwarded my pictures and comments on to Evanix
Evanix has a good rep for its barrels and customer service, should get a new one and it should be better.
Jim Chapman had good results with the one he was playing with <1″ at 75 yards
So fingers crossed,if they try to charge me I’ll tell ’em where they can stuff it and get a TJ
Take a chance and cut one and a half inch from muzzle and try again to push a pellet.
Something must change.
Maybe better, maybe worst.
I hope you will save your barrel until you get a new one.

Got my new barrel today – first impressions not good :4:
yes it is two tone 😯 ??? (with stripes)
looked through the bore and looked much better than the original. cleaned it well and pushed a pellet through, choke seems closer to the end of the barrel and the pellet came out clean. (nicely cut rifling)
checked port alignment and it looked good.
fired one shot from 15 yards to see if it was in the same ballpark as the other barrel – looked good so I took it out to 50 yards – hmmmm
POA for first shot was center lower target – all others where red square – I did adjust the scope after the first group hit low consistently – added enough clicks for 2.5″ up 🙄 :-\
too early to tell yet, need to put more rounds through it – oh and these where JSBs – squares are 1″
