Tactical Sniper
Decided to bite the big bore bullet and ordered a Evanix Tactical Sniper in .357 last night the after santa 10% discount made it hard to resist.
I friend that I converted to air guns had just gotten a Rainstorm 3D bullpup, was a hoot to shoot so I had to get my own, didn’t want the same thing, couldn’t afford the semi autos so went with the sniper. :4:
Already trying to figure out how to make it more neighbor friendly 😯

You’re right the buttstock is lacking and that is an excellent idea 😀

My first shot with this one was almost mortar, tried to use nylon set screws so not to mar the finish, well they didn’t hold and it pushed forward into the alignment ring on the brake, it that hadn’t been there it would have been a mortar 😯
As far as the butt stock goes… looks like somebody needs a dose of EBR goodness back there!!!

We’ve all sent “mortars” down range at one time or another Mike 😀
Is it just me or does it look like they used a Hex wrench on that hollowpoint mold??????
Good luck with that gun. Looks like You could run a back up (flip up) M4 style ghost ring sight as well. The only thing that bothers me (aesthetically) is that anemic butt stock 😡 Shouldn’t be too hard to upgrade that blunder.
was trying to extend the shrould I already have. Having a problem with making it tight enough for the .257. I kinda made the extention in to a down range mortar! 😯 😆

So what went wrong on the shroud knife?
felt like I was shooting a shotgun on sunday, pellets every where 🙁
I think it was 2 parts shit scope, one part loose LDC. :3:
shooting side by side with my friends 3D really showed how much the LDC quieted things down.
Shooting again this weekend with a new scope and hopefully better accuracy
Fingers crowwed for ya there DogW.!
I made up a shroud to extend the one I have today. A Total Bust! 😥 But I’ll get her done! 😉

I’ve only got too shoot it a couple of times at fairly close range, but the scope is an old POS that doesn’t want to hold its settings, so I ordered a new Konus
should have it wednesday – then I’ll really try for accuracy and see what it likes a how well it will do.
If the weather cooperates and the now isn’t too deep I’ll run some pellets of the Chrony tomorrow as well 😎
oh yeah, adjusted the trigger…. much better
I had hoped to have 4 pellets to try this weekend, but my order from Hunter supply didn’t show up today F-ing USPS 3 day my hiny :4:
so I have air venturi 95 gr hollow points, 105 gr flat and some 77 gr JSB’s, hopefully it shoots one of those well.
finished the LDC, so far so good, no baffle strikes but not as quiet as I want yet…. time to play with the baffle design :8:
weather isn’t cooperating too much right now… my friend with a 3D bull pup in .357 is going to come over tomorrow and we’ll sling some lead downline, need to sight his gun in and try to see what mine can do..

Thanks, I’ve got some black Ceracoat paint left over from my AR build that I’ll paint it with once I’m happy that it’s working and I don’t need to change the size
That’s looking good!!!! :8:
Finally got a chance to put a couple rounds through it, no rain or snow, but windy.
Took the opportunity to sight in the scope and just get some lead through it.
Loaded the mags with some 105’s, grabbed the shooting stick and made some noise… 😀
walk it into the center – only about 20 feet though 😳
worked a bit on the LDC, shaping up nicely – waiting on some set screws…
Pulled the “Shroud” – what a joke, there is a bushing pressed in place the the barrel screws into,no way for air to get back into the rest of the “shroud” so you only have a small chamber about 1.5″ long before the muzzle brake. 😕
as you can see my LDC goes a good ways back on the shroud, I might drill some holes in it (the shroud) behind the end of the barrel to try and gain a bit more volume…. :3:
The airtube is the main problem. When you get to any size BIG BORE airgun, you start really consuming air. So 200 FPE in 45 cal is actually EFFICIENT for that size tube. But bump the power up to 300-350-400+ FPE in the exact same gun and you might just drain your tank on only the 2nd shot……….SERIOUSLY. My Dragon Slayer was the same way in OEM form.
We’re all drooling for groups and a full report! Congrats :8:

Check out ehobbyasia. I just picked up a solid airsoft version for $160. Its going on my custom .30 Dawson action Rapid. It comes complete with locking mechanism and stock. Should be easy to adapt at that point.
