Q:

TAG Sellers…..

To tell you the truth with all the problems that have been occuring with people selling stuff and then taking off and not responding Tony and I have thought about how to get some control over this stuff.

People come on here and sell their wares and services and good ole Tony pays the bills and they are getting a free ride and often are competing directly against Tony and getting a free ride on his dime and they are only really here to make a few quick bucks.

Something is going to have to change around here.

This is becoming a more serious issue everyday.
Its becoming a little more personal to me every time the billing cycle comes up and I have to pay for others free advertising.

We are all so proud of our TAG and it will be here for a long time, but some changes will be made.

Thanks Tony

Fuck you Pabs! :9 :16 :17

Dude I have never sold anything here and don’t plan too so I am really not affected by the decision. I was just tossing ideas out there.

That being said (takes big breath) Why should Tony sell his Shrouds for $100? He puts a-lot of work into them.

Peace

That was pure rhetoric, dude. Only because so many “inventors” have basically sold their home-made shrouds here and held the cost at that price-point. (and I may add, they make some good stuff).

ummm… I dunno. Tony is paying for the forum, and I respect that. But the AF guns are such Tinkertoys that you can’t expect someone to not offer their own mods, that’s what the gun is all about. (my 11 pound SS is testimony to that fact).

If someone wants to go into business, then I think they need to be vetted by the mods and maybe charged a fee.

Another forum I’m on has a “Commercial Dealers” section. Maybe something for the Mods to think about adding.

Peace right back to you! 😉

I didn’t assist with the “overthrow” of TOG for this to happen.

Lama sure did though. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

We have reputation…. do a search and look at what people have posted and what other’s have posted about them.

I also don’t see this as “tony’s site”, he pays the bills, but if he disappeared we’d just made a new one so it would continue and he certainly isn’t the governing factor when it comes to after market part’s so I don’t think he should be the one to put a stamp of approval on people, expecially when there’s a busines interest. Maybe some of you newer folks don’t realize, but this site didn’t just appear out of think air one day or come about because of Anthony.

Guy named Andrew started the original site, but many people made it what it was – posted how to tune guns, make shrouds and tuned guns and made shrouds for free or at cost, it closed down because someone bought it and wanted to make it into what HE wanted and started implementing rules and even suggested “verified vender’s”…. this site is an extension of that site, it shouldn’t be one persons domain to say what goes and what doesn’t – thats what killed TOG.

IIRC that owner had a problem with Anthony and it was unjustified… I don’t want to see that or any other nonsense happen again.

I didn’t assist with the “overthrow” of TOG for this to happen.

Sounds like you need a secretary Jerry!

How about if a user buys something from a verified vendor then they get the phone number or other contact info?

How about everyone simmers down about this? If someone is gullible enough to buy what is essentially some guy in his garage making an experimental part, then the buyer needs to accept the risk that it may not work perfectly or may actually blow up in their face.

You pays yo’ money an’ yo’ takes yer chances.

Maybe if Tony started selling his shrouds for about $100 or so….

Just sayin’! Just sayin’!……

Try the corned beef, I’m here all week.

Have you owned one of his shrouds or had the chance to really look over his shrouds? I did and I was not disappointed. Also have you ever tried to make a shroud? I have how ever my tools were a pipe cutter, sand paper, a drill and cheap attachable press and tap and die set. It is a pain. Now imagine the amount of electricity it take to run his big machines.
there is a-lot more I am sure Tony uses the money for besides pocket insulation.

Peace

Well, I sure don’t want calls all day from the guy that can’t load, can’t shoot or just wants to ask questions or advice. I answer all my PM’s and they add up to about 8 per order it seems! Interupting my actual job would be a problem.

If the buyer is wondering about policies, like returns, he ought to ask before he spends and accept some responsibility. Like Pab said, its a big scary world and sooner or later one has to make decisions without the crutch of having someone to blame.

Good point.

Yeah it will be work for somebody no matter what. How about if a user buys something from a verified vendor then they get the phone number or other contact info? That takes TAG out of the middle and allows the buyer and seller to work it out. Also a big sign somewhere that says “Buy at your own risk!” I was assuming it meant liability. That appears to be of the problem more or less. Maybe some sort of standard form for selling items. That includes a return policy for the product if any. At least that way the buyer was told there are no returns if this happens or what ever.

I’m not going to try and decipher that but this won’t be the last time I quote it! 😆 😆 😆

Maybe if Tony priced his shrouds for about $100 or so he’d kill the competition….

😉

Just sayin’! Just sayin’!…… Don’t shoot me. 😆

Tuning is an art, and worth every penny.

The other AF aftermarket bits are catch as catch can, nobody’s got a patent on then except maybe AF, and so far they ain’t bitchin’.
