People come on here and sell their wares and services and good ole Tony pays the bills and they are getting a free ride and often are competing directly against Tony and getting a free ride on his dime and they are only really here to make a few quick bucks.
Something is going to have to change around here.
This is becoming a more serious issue everyday.
Its becoming a little more personal to me every time the billing cycle comes up and I have to pay for others free advertising.
We are all so proud of our TAG and it will be here for a long time, but some changes will be made.

Seems straight forward enough to me.
Have no clue just throwing ideas out there. Maybe verified by Tony? He’s the boss and it’s his site, so it’s his name in the end that gets tainted. A Talon Tunes verified seller? I’m guessing address and name at the least. There are many ways to check if that info is valid. That way we can send Lama and GTBJ to skin there ass up 😈 Maybe some sort of rep system like an ebay seller? That way you create your own rep by being an honest Joe. Not sure what kind of technology is available to the site to accomplish that but I’m sure not all that hard to implement. Or we create a committee of TAG users who if someone wants to sell a custom product has to send to a freebie for testing purposes and product verification to the group.
Maybe everybody who wants to list items for sale has to send Adam a copy of their drivers license, a current utility bill to match addresses and a couple of phone numbers that are then called for final verification and password relay? 😀
I appreciate the vouch GTBJ but it was a serious question that I had in mind for newer members. For instance, I was a man of my word before the first order got filled, now that we’ve sent out 10s of thousands of slugs, there are at least a couple folks that believe that! But, what does the new honest guy do to get verified? There might be a foolproof answer, I just don’t know it. What is the standard to deny verification?

The Freemarket idea is what Adam is basing nearly his entire argument on – He was talking about innovation here, not the rest of the internet. So thats how I responded.

So when the item gets to the new owner, and doesn’t work, they have no way to get ahold of the seller and figure out what they need to do to fix it. When this happens, they have to go to one of the knowledgeable folks here like tony and tony has to help them sort it out.
Nice guy that tony is, he does try to help, but he shouldn’t have to. He makes his own stuff, and when someone buys his stuff and needs help then he can help, but when it’s some random guy’s stuff that just isn’t willing to help anyone, it sucks.
So what is being proposed is a way to keep the scammers and the people that aren’t going to stay and help out, and only let the good guys sell things here.

How do you come to the conclusion I am scamming or non reachable when my website and business email are in every posting on the forum, come on if you guys don’t want me here just say so and I will gladly leave. I am so busy I really don’t need the aggravation of a couple coach commandoes giving me shit, if you can produce a better product then make it or shut your hole. 😆 😆
Kind of a late reply to this but that was my bad. I made that post before it was discovered that the guy said all this after such a short time. I was under the impression that it had been a while. But after all was said, I don’t think you did anything wrong.

One thing I have noticed is that the success of a modders offerings are inversely proportionate to the help that comes from them.
there was a day when the technical discussions far outweighed the bandwidth used for products. People were helpful and interested. Then some figgered to make money at their ventures and teh lips went shut.
Got to protect ‘my’ widget so noone else copies it or understands it.
Going commercial will detract from the open source info we once shared.
I dont like the idea of telling people they cannot sell specific items. If its a copy of something someone else designed then that isnt right, and our members are loyal and they will say so without our input.
Stopping people from selling things that someone else already makes is not the way to nurture innovation, neither is charging them a fee. Let people continue to innovate by letting people make and sell what they want and the market will decide whats best instead of a couple of individuals.

Straight forward but also a major PITA. And is Adam expected to hand out phone numbers to someone who has had their product for 10 minutes and is baffled by it? 20 minutes? 1 day, 2 days, long weekend? Does trying to verify or saying “verified” entail liability?
