Q:

The Airforce Bottle Regulator is here!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce that the Airforce bottle regulator is complete and I have the distinct honor to offer them for sale.

They have the M18 x 1.5 threadpitch for the Airforce bottle on one end and the .875-20UNEF threads for the E-TaCREG on the other.

The length and diameter are identical to the other JDS Airman regs.

I will be stocking them here at E-TaC central. The cost is $90 shipped, same as the E-TaCREG. CONUS shipping is included.

You can choose your output pressure from 1200-2500psi.

Here is a picture.

I have to get my tank filled (AGAAIN!!!) and I’ll get a shot count number for the 2000psi output.

Regards,
Jim

Leak in regulator,

😑 try to open the thing, I make a small tool for it, from a bar of steel with 2 drills of 5 mm will post a picture of it.
Most of the time the O-rings are bad, btw i like to know the part no. of the O-rings.

how did it change the accuracy with the reg.

I think it’s better, only I’m the bad part of the rig πŸ˜• think the LONG locktime is a bad issue.
But It will be the next thing to look after.
Did shoot last week on the 50 meter indoor lane, and have some one hole groups except one stupid flyer from me.
😳

Now I have no spacer between bottle and valvestem, I think ( and read ) that it can help for accuracy.

One thing to keep in mind, is the regulator leaking to the sec. room?

wait a day and shoot the first pellet over the chrony, it was okay.

nice on power with the first shot.

With my reg if I shoot shot after shot its really consistent. If I leave ten minutes or more between shots, the fps goes up. A leak in the reg letting through too much air I guess.

Looks like that thing is really working ,how did it change the accuracy with the reg.

impact shift and such.

O just some type work, that’s the bad thing about testing, a lot of type work. in excel πŸ˜• but a good deal for the pellet salesmen πŸ˜‰

I looks great ( for me ), but a try it again on my old chrony, this data comes from a el cheapo china thing, but it have a 25 shot memory.
The shooting of the string was done in allmost full auto mode πŸ˜‰
so you can see by shot 25 some different speed, after a a few minutes between two shots.
the regulator is still very fresh, did shoot not more then 100 pellets.

Maybe a bit bigger hole in the valvestem, but when I get 60 GOOD shots.
at 30 to 33 ft/lbs with JSB 18 grains I’m very happy ( with my rifle ).

final I kick my self to put on the reg.

Was again on a hunting trip ,and talk AGAIN over the the reg. one year later ( it was in my barn for a few month’s ) 😈

After a GOOD chat with the maker, ( Marmot_Militia)
he told me it was set at around 150 Bar.

testing with a fill on a 500 cc bottle, a bit more then 3100 PSI.
Give 70 GOOD shots around the 29 ft/lbs.

just raw data, later more details.

some basic info:

18 ” BSA barrel,
old skool valve 4,7 mm valve stem,
3,1 mm hole in valvestem,
light hammer of 22 grams.
O ring between valvestem and valvehouse.

give a 1/2 mm more space to open te valve.

I like it!

O yes a picture of the FAT but short bottle on the rifle.

( “butplate ” was a two minute job for testing ).

, on the rifle.

cheers ewoodie.

Somebody has been paying attention. πŸ™‚

here a pic. of a powercurve WITHOUT the regulator.

Jim,

the Reg. is in , now find time to put it in.

First shoot a string with the old layout.

Then the new stuff between it. πŸ˜€

Jim Thanks, working at the moment on a hi-flow valve, to make a nice combo of it.
πŸ˜›

Thanks guys.

Life is indeed too short. I just got the 4500/3000 in and will let you know how it compares.

Ewoodie, E-TaCREG is machined, need to be blacked on Monday, soak for a day, and out the door. Reg is set and ready for install.

Regards,
Jim

I simply cannot make all these parts at a competitive cost.

That’s normal, with small serie’s, but what the f..k 😳
have fun, πŸ˜› live is to short.

I hope you find time to make me happy soon. πŸ˜‰

Jim! Nice to hear from you buddy! Keep us posted on the projects!

Gentlemen,

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the support and business over the last 16 months since the original E-TaC was first introduced.

Sales are still strong, and I’ve gotten quite a few orders for other machining jobs as a result. To all of you who have trusted me with your projects, thank you.

My support on this forum has been lacking recently. I have to budget my time carefully with two kids, our animals (horses) and a wife with a booming jewelry business. I apologize if I leave too many posts unanswered. Thanks to all who help me out by posting their comments when I do not.

I had mentioned that I was working on a .25 cal valve for the E-TaCREG system. I have a working prototype that delivers 1010fps with JSB 25.4 with the 2000psi reg. HOWEVER, the introduction of the 4500/3000psi reg from JDS make make this valve system a bust. I recently got a 4500psi tank and will begin testing the results to see how they compare to the new valve. I suspect the performance will be very similar to my valve. The deciding factor for bringing the valve to market is the cost. There is no sense trying to sell a valve system that is considerably more expensive than the new reg.

The new valve system requires several new pieces including a heavier spring, heavier hammer, new valve, new breech slide, and new E-TaCREG (the standard E-TaCREG will not work). In other words, it will be quite expensive to produce. Considering the cost of a tank and 4500/3000 reg is around $230 (cheaper if you find a used tank), I simply cannot make all these parts at a competitive cost.

Regards,
Jim

Hi,

did order also the E-TaCREG. now I see it works with a Hi-flow valve.

Is there a drawing online of a hiflow valve with dimensions?

I have just on old valve πŸ˜₯ so I will rebuild it.

All help welcome, thank you.

ewoodie.
