Q:

The Airforce Bottle Regulator is here!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce that the Airforce bottle regulator is complete and I have the distinct honor to offer them for sale.

They have the M18 x 1.5 threadpitch for the Airforce bottle on one end and the .875-20UNEF threads for the E-TaCREG on the other.

The length and diameter are identical to the other JDS Airman regs.

I will be stocking them here at E-TaC central. The cost is $90 shipped, same as the E-TaCREG. CONUS shipping is included.

You can choose your output pressure from 1200-2500psi.

Here is a picture.

I have to get my tank filled (AGAAIN!!!) and I’ll get a shot count number for the 2000psi output.

Regards,
Jim

OOOPS, let that one slip.

😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳

I’ll try to clean it up from now on.

You said Anal 😆

Also have JSB Express and Exacts in .177, AA Field Target, and a boat load of other wadcutters.

LMTSS, 950fps with 10.5 will put you over the 20ftlb limit. You need to be no higher than 925fps.

Jim

Yea that’s what I meant. 😀

Actually, Rob, my most consistent numbers come from a higher PW setting and adjusting the Tophat to the desired velocity. I’m sure some tweeking of the PW will help. My reasoning is that the hammer may not hit the same every time, but the tophat is limited in it’s travel, therefore being the most consistent, repeatable, part of the system. Obviously, excessive hammer power will eventually cause damage, but reasonable people will know when to stop.

For the 51 shot string, I set the PW to 2 and lowered the top hat into the .062″ range. I shot a few and increased the PW until there was no more increase in velocity, then adjusted the tophat (in my case LOWER) until 975fps was the average.

I could have done this a couple more times to double check, but felt good about the numbers, so left it alone.

You will very quickly see the joy of shooting a regulated gun, of that I am certain.

Jim

Interesting…. I’m wondering if the above would be the case for trying to get a lower consistent velocity as well…? It does make sense though that the hammer is the least consistent of the components…. I wonder if the idea of keeping the PW setting higher, but using a lighter hammer for lower velocity would be worth investigating?

Got a 18″ .177 from Dave so the barrel is not a problem.

I only have CP7.9s in stock and I have JSB 10.2 so if that’s ok I’ll test with those.

JIm

Close enough. as long as my velosity does not go over 950fps.

Sounds good, Jim….

As I see it, tweaking these for lower output should be fairly easy. If I am wanting a specific velocity, I should turn the PW as low as I can, then set the tophat until I get the desired velocity. If I fall short of the velocity I want, up the PW until I reach it.

Since the psi output is going to be the same (until off reg, of course) the pressure and volume variables are out of the equation.

My ‘wish list’ for testing….

.177 18 inch barrel 850-900fps with 8gr (13 or so fpe) Not concerned with a full string as I’d be hopeful that it would be in the hundreds. (or am I a bit optimistic?)

X2 for field target. I could even let you borrow my spare 18″ barrel if you do not have one. Hell I’ll even include a bunch of Crosman premier 10.5gr. pellets.

SWEET JESUS!!!!!!!!!

You want to shoot those??

I’ll have to get some to try.

Jim

I think I have some extra, but not enough for a full string. I’ll look through my stash and let you know.

.22 12 inch barrel 16-20fpe…. full string.

.25… 24 inch barrel…. 850fps or so with 31gr kodiaks full string. Would rather not go below 850fps, and I’d be happier with closer to 900fps… but not really concerned with going over that.

As an aside… the 51 shots with the JSB’s at 975fps was simply awesome…….great work~!!

My .25 produced 130 FPE by using these bad-ass slugs  :4:

I shot a chipmunk wth a 7 ring once vaporizedno really it looked like it was shot with an arrow
