The frame is the exact measurements as the talon frame.
The difference is it has a flat cap like the SS and a 12″25 caliber barrel in it.
Kind of crazy if you ask me. To be considered a pistol I would have bet they would have had to make the frame smaller. I lost the bet. That makes for one HUGE pistol if you ask me. I still want one though.
I’m filling from the same gage, I need to top off my tank, but I wait till it is dry weather and fill both my tanks up.
I really don’t know the difference in the two Valves, But I was using the Condor valve,, I never tried it with the Extreme valve from RL,, I’ll try it too when the weather gives me a good setting I try to be the same distance on the bench and Use the same fill. Tomarrow might be abetter day.
The guns in a 12 inch barell gives in the mid 50’s with ease using the 43 grain Ej’s I do it all the time.
The groups at 43 to 45 yards is never over the 1″ to 1 and 1/2″ group.
The gun is predictable in that range, the best thing as I have said is get a good scope so you can make sure you are doing things right, My stubby I made cuts it’s own holes out there.
I’m just now getting the Talon-P set up good. You can still hold it and look through the scope from a sholder shot just move the scope forward a little it wont even look out of place like that. It’s a keeper I don’t regret buying it Three shots dead on at 20 earlier today when I was testing it, then all hell broke loose and the rain came down . 😀
Since gauges vary some… Very similar on the Talon P with either tank. So what is the difference between a Hi-Flow and a Direct Flow ?
Reference only can be more but not less, I have a darkened overcast here.
Here is the Talon-P small valve setting on 12 and filled to 2800-731.7 FPS
Here is the High flow Valve I bought from PA several months back filled to 2800 setting 12 on the same Talon-P 698.5..
That’s with an overcast it is not a good time to Chrono right now. I’ll do better tomarrow if it lightenes up. The Highflow Condor valve will do the mid 50’s in Foot pounds so today isn’t a good day at the bench. That little valve is also 😀 Will probably get high numbers on a sunny day.
OK give me a few hours I’ll check it out it is raining here real bad. I’ll get it ready…wish I had thought of that.. I have both here in my radio shack. I’d get it on asap..
I left something out.
When I put my first stubby together, I had over $600 in it.
If you buy this one from PA it is under $400 free shipping in the USA,, That will leave it open to over $200 difference for which you can own a extra Highflow Condor tank, and still have some money left over for pellets 😀
I never bought a Stubby Stock from RL, but I was going too untill I realised the short light gun was what I was after and didn’t want to add the extra weight to it, Thought I’d add this for clarity. 😀
Please make one shot on the Condor with Hi Flow tank. Using the same setup, put on the Direct Flow tank and fire. Give us the FPS. Use 43.2 gr.
Here is the scoop,,,The Talon-P
The frame is the exact measurements as the talon frame.
The difference is it has a flat cap like the SS and a 12″25 caliber barrel in it.
Did I say it was accurate? Well it is! 😀
I made a gun just like this using the talon frame and a 25 caliber 12″ barrel purchased from Air force, the only difference is I bought a high flow tank, and this one has a real short tank on it, and you can’t unscrew the valve from one tank and put it on another one..
You might be able to exchange parts out of one to the other I didn’t check that because of warranty reasons.
The front Bushing was loose I found that when I took the barrel out of the gun to clean it and prep it. I used mild loctite to secure it.
Oh back to the valve exchange,, I got the same FPD’s from the small valve that I got from the big Tank so why would you even want to mess with it if it don’t give any more FPD’s?
Now after prepping it, I filled it to 2900 PSI,LOLOL This what you are waiting for any way,, First shot using the EJ 38.5 pellets gave me 769.6 FPS resulting in 49 FPD’s shot #2 was with a 43.2 EJ and it gave me 751.9 resulting in 54 FPD’s It was on 12 setting when I got it,, so I backed it down to our common 88 on the setting and used a 25.4 Diablo exact, and it got me 850FPS resulting in 40.75 FPDS next I backed it down to 6.7 and it came up with 32.49 FPD’s.
I backed it doqn to 3.7 and got 430 FPS,, didn’t even calculate that one.
I think the gun will give the full ten shots on high because I filled it back up and it was consistent on the 88 setting with the 25.4 diablo pellets.
The good part about the gun is I can still lay my cheek on the tank at the end and the small tank will let my eye line up good.
The Stubby 25 is virtually the same gun IMHP with the small tank being the only difference.
The top hat is the same inside and out by the Micrometer as the High flow tank on the condor for which I used as a reference for the measurements, so I don’t see why a 22 barrel wont work, however I would not recomend trying it due to Air force saying it won’t work,.””I say it will”” But don’t take my word for it 😀 so there ya go measured with my talon stubby 25 from end to end, and inside of the shroud the measurements are exactly the same.
Hope this helps. 😀
The gun is a consistant shooter…..
Well shaggy, it’s after 1:00 EST… Did youget the Talon P ?
if you put r&l air guns in google, you come up with

😆
:18:
I searched R&L on the forum and came up with nothing. Wondering about them. Thanks.
I think it was more an efficiency issue. Let us know…. Yea I put the Hawke Sidewinder tacticals on my airguns and I love the reticles despite a little weight. I am interested to see if the R&L Extreme valve is close to the AF Direct-Flo valve. They were both claimed to be going for efficiency (that the 12″ barrel burns). I know my Stubby is my go to gun around the house which is where 90% of my shooting is. If nothing else the R&L short shroud and front threaded bushing replacement might be perfect for the Talon P.
We’ll find out in about 3 days I have one comming ➡
as it arrived yet pal ❓ ❓
It will be here after 1:00 pm tomarrow.
The valve is specifically designed for the 25 caliber, and they say it wont work on the 22 or 17,, I have a Talon frame 25 caliber with a regular high flow valve on it, and it will hit the mid 50 pounds of energy that way.
Also I;ll mesure the bushing screws and the frame and see if there is any difference in the Talon.
In my Talon i can touch the end of the barrel easily with my finger , it is not too far from the front of the gun, and it is loud,, I don’t mind the noise, every one around here shoots a gun of somekind It will just sound normal for the neighborhood..
I’ll do some 43.2 grain and some 35 grain EJ’s in it. they shoot good in my other guns… That makes me5 25 caliber AF guns, all of them so far are keepers, can’t pick one fom the other. My Marauders shoot good too, not a cull in the bunch.
I found one problem most seem to have,,, The gun needs a good scope on it. I use a high powered front adjustable and usually 6 to 20 power scope. The better the scope the better I can see my target and the closer my shots get together. A 9 power is ok up close but from 30 yards out the high power helps a lot. I don’t miss the bottum of a soda can at 50 yards with teh high powered, and sometimes the same hole carries all 3 shots I use for a group.
However My eyes are not the best so I use the 20 power and the front set on teh distance and shoot a better group, The last scope I got came from walmarts 20 power was a little over $100, and they only had one left in the store, might get it off of the web it is a bushenell scope 6 to 20 power ,, It improved my shot groups a lot. Anyway I’ll give it a good report when I see it arrive and mesure and check it out. PA told me they had 6 of these when I bought mine,, they might not last long because every one is after 25 calibers and bigger,,,one more for the collection. 😀
I guess it means the Condor valve didn’t have enough oomph.

Shaggy – What I was saying is what I was looking for is the difference of a Hi-Flow (standard Condor valve) vs. Direct Flow (Talon P valve) being shot from the same airgun.
Is that what you shot ?
