Q:

Time to test new Pellets !!

I got a Tin (or actually a Plastic Box) of Hurricane .25 cal. 30 ge pellets to try out. Really good looking Pills made to Hurricane Air Arms specifications and they resemble Daysate Rangemaster. I want to go Pellet testing right now but it´s dark, cold , humid and very windy. Maybe tomorrow.

I´ll , however , send a Tin of these to Whineyman so he can measure and test them since he´s much more qualified than i am. My approach is far less scientific : Shoot them and measure them Groups. The old way from those days before the Berlin Wall came down .. 😯

I actually inspected every single one of those 275 Pellets that came in the Box and there is zero percent distorted skirts. The skirts are kinda thick and these Pills are actually called ” split skirt” , whatever that means.
Here´s the actual Info once again :
What’s new about the Hurricane 18 grain lead Exterminator air bullet?
1. It is made on a single die system and the wire feed is controlled by a laser micrometer, so every one is identical with minimal weight variation from batch to batch.
2. The unique patented split skirt allows it to adapt to the various types of rifling providing better accuracy and increases muzzle velocity because of lower friction through the barrel.
3. Its bullet shape has a superior ballistic coefficient which provides greater downrange energy.
4. The presentation of the Exterminator in its robust packaging ensures that you will not be throwing away distorted pellets because of cheap inferior packaging which should be a major consideration when assessing the cost per pellet at face value.
5. The formula used for the premium lead alloy reduces the need for frequent cleaning of the barrel.

These are found in .22 & .25 cal. In .22 there are three different weights to choose from ; 18gr, 25gr and 37.5gr . I need to get the Doc to test those .22´s in his Cricket and EdGun.

I checked all of the Benjamin .25s I have from a few years ago and Crosman Premiers I just got and they all look great. Whew! That is one trouble with Crosman especially. Consistency.

I bought 4 tins of the benj 25 over a year ago and seem to be shooting pretty good. It looks like from that thread the new batches could be bad and that stinks if thats the case!

I don’t know how those shoot in an EG but Crickets seem to like them. Mine does too and so i feed the Bug with them Benjies. Unfortunately there aren’t .25 Premiers .. 🙁

Aren’t the .177 Premiers domed ??

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2. This POS iPhone sucks though …

Before I found out they were Top Gun pellet I would have given them away. With all of the enlightening from you guys I am going to test those babies out. 😉 Actually, I am disappointed it looks like there isn’t a domed .177 Bengy.

Coda – you promised to give away all those “hand out” junk Pellets. You can´t just go and use them now. Send them all to me and i´ll send you a tin of those shiny marvels – the Predators.

Yes – very good. Cool because I was given a bunch of tins of those that I have never even tried for free. I have to much fun with the Predators.

Benj .25 domed

Tested out these pellets on my untuned untouched never shot R3M. This is what I have…. I zeroed it @25 yrds and there is about .5″ drop from 25-50yrds. @ 910fts I was hitting .5″ groups with a holdover @ 50yds. Is that any good???

lol – They told me I would need to marry an ASE technician or lease or buy a CPO with a long warranty on the Audi and each was expensive. My Titanium is so packed with fancy electronics not to mention that turbo, surround the vehicle sensors, and parallel parking so I bought an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty for it too but directly from Ford for nearly half the price the dealer was asking to amortize it. 😯

Yep. Tuned and serviced by Audi or a workshop approved by VAG or the Warranty will be voided. I myself bought a Service plan with the car together with three years extra Warranty so i don´t care what the service costs. I paid 170$ /year times four years and have “free” service. When the Warranty is out i´ll change to a new little mule … 😀
I asked my Audi rep (who coinsidentally is also my neighbour and a friend) how much the 30.000 KM service costs and it was so wickedly expensive i´ve denounced the sum. Thankfully i don´t need to care about that shit for three more years.

And no – we have our own hoard of Obama´s over here in Europe. Yes – we can !

Well take more comfort in Obummer has managed to keep our gas prices up around $3 a US gallon (not Imperial). We have enough oil through fracking and natural gas to be independent of everybody at this point for hundreds of years but Obummer keeps screwing with everything to appease his Liberal investors. Are you sure you guys don’t want him?

I went and test drove your AWD A3 Audi (but it didn’t have the big engine or all of the other cool stuff in it) and I really liked it but the maintenance over here on Audis is wickedly expensive. 😯 I was told by the dealer it must be tuned by an authorized mechanic for the warranty.

All Cars are expensive in Europe. We have high tax on Cars. That has to be with all the available options though. The price for a standard issue Kuga is around 30K in Sweden. All the options add up … Cars in US are – and have always been – much cheaper than on this side of the Pond. At least you get fucked with the FX pricing. I´ll have that as a comfort ! :biggrinn:

Then again – we pay around 9$ for a Gallon of gas … 😯 That´s why i have my little fast Mule – very gas efficient if driven normally. Wind up the pace and you pay for the fun.

The FTTs shoot great in my .22 Marauder pistol. The Cuda’s do very well in my .25 Marauder rifle but not so good in my Air Ranger which likes Kings.

Ville – on another subject. :biggrinn: I priced a Ford Kuga Titanium on the UK Ford web site identically to my Ford Escape Titanium (same car different name) and it came out at 35,140 pounds or $58,200 USD MSRP. 😯 The same car is about $37,000 USD here. Who could afford $58k? What gives on the Ford pricing over there?

Beeman´s are actually H&N rebranded pellets and none of them ever shot well in neither of my EG´s . H&N Baracuda shoots the best of them out of my Cricket but those groups are nothing to write home about so i stopped trying. H&N FTT´s shoot very well on Weihrauch springers but that´s another matter ..

Did a quick test on a couple other pellets in the Edgun R3M .25:

Beeman Silver Bear 26.23 grains do not load into the magazine properly. It appears the semi-wadcutter lip snags the o-rings in the magazine. I did not have forceps, in the absence of single-shot capability, to single load pellets. I’ll probably take the forceps out next time, just for yuks.

Beeman Crow Magnum, also 26.23 grains, were pretty tight in the breech, noticeably harder to load. Groups were sub-par, possibly due to dents upon entering the breech, tightness in the barrel or speed. It’s a hard-hitting hunting pellet, so worth a closer look and chrony.
