What scope dresses the Vulcan?
All Replies
That was the second option I was referring to. However, based on the photos of the vulcan and the MTC scope, there isn’t enough rail in the back to mount it. That’s why I was asking if the rail on top of the vulcan could be reversed. Then the “overhang” would be toward the back. Just don’t know if it would be far enough back to mount the scope with the proper eye relief. In the photos, it looks like it should work. The rail has 2 screws on top. I also assume this is all that is holding it in place. The rail isn’t shown in the exploded diagram in the manual.
How did you cut that ring? Are you a machinist? What tool(s) were used?
That photo in my post above was an example of how to cut 1 piece. Just checked the dimensions of the one I was looking at:
The height of the mount, from the top of the rail to the bottom of the rings, is 0.9 inches.
The 0.9 inches = 23mm. Looking at some 2 piece rings, I see medium is more like 14. Yes, this would be too high – at least for me.
3rd option:
A picatinny to dovetail adapter:
and the MTC connect a mount? Would this combination be too high?
Regarding the MTC connect and mounting. On another forum I saw this

The poster said he cut down the back ring to fit. I realize it is still a dovetail mount but this could be done with a weaver offset.
Now, further thinking and looking, if you cut down 1 of your 2 rings and reversed the weaver rail on the gun wouldn’t the scope be in the correct position?
I just know I would damage the scope with that much hanging unsupported.
The only con is that it maybe to high for most shooters, I’ve check into this, the medium 30mm seem to be the norm for most.

Doesn’t much matter since the weight is sraigh over the balance point.
That scope weighs in at 22 oz’s almost a 1.5 lbs not light for such a small scope
About as much as one of Leads Nut…… ounces….
Son of a squirrels nutz. That’s you shootin at me drunk Finn. How much does it weigh?
Try it at moving targets – like Rats or Oakey – and you’ll find out what the SCB reticle is all about. It has surprisingly clear optics as well. Good stuff ! Perfect for Bullpup/ Compact air rifles. Not good for a .338 LM though .. 🙁
Great so far Ville. I really like the thin reticle. This scope makes a light gun stay light. It’s going to be my truck gun for awhile… :4:
Zonkey , you twit ! How’s the Connect treating ya’ ??
They just don’t sell it with the right reticule : The SCB.
AMD isn’t as good for airgunning. And before you start : I’ve had them both ( reticules ) and the SCB is way better – for Airgunning.
Why they don’t sell the Connect with that reticule over there is an enigma.
I got the Falcon from Falcon optics was no issue. The MTC came from the us.
Family man
How did you get a scope over 9x out of the UK?

I got the pix off the web looking 4 info on the scope.
I wish I was a machinist, that would go hand in hand with air guns.
It could be done with a drill press, cross side vise & end mills 4 the cutting.
With a bit of black spray paint, & call it done.
