While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:
So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:
As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

The FX- factory isn’t too far from here, and I have many times wanted to visit them. The “Elite” certainly looks interesting, but I fear the loading port may be a little too narrow for my fingers. Ref the AA EVO MKIII that I have shown pictures of earlier in this thread……….. 😉

I just received mine back from Mr. John Bowkett who performed his magic on it, extending the air reservoir by 14 cm and installing his latest regulator for 52+ fpe with an extreme spread of 10 fps. I am far from being a great marksman like yourself, Harry, but I am happy to report that after a grand total of only 2 (two) years of shooting experience in my whole life, I was able to achieve this 10 (ten)-shot group at approx. 50 m with some light to medium side wind present 😀
Perhaps using your method of measuring you’d be able to let me know the exact c-t-c figure. Of course, the above result would have been unthinkable without your patient (and priceless) guidance over the last couple of years.

The BSA .25 still rules. But the single direct loading Elite with some 90 shots at average 50+fpe from a 500 cc bottle and lever action seems to have some things worth exploring. (Johnny’s figures). The extra .22 barrel will also allow me to explore a theory relating to Polymags. … But as with yourself, I am not counting chickens until the rifle is in my hands.
The Edguns don’t interest me anymore. If it’s so hard to get them from Russia to Norway, how would one ever make it to OZ!

Below is what he sent with the parcel to Germany:
There’s no mentioning of my name, – the value quoted may cater for a good laugh, – and most importantly the calibers mentioned are incorrect….
Kindly also note that the document is dated on Aug 8th, – that’s eight days after he (and you) said my guns had been shipped to Germany in the first place……..
The above is NOT what you and I agreed and has NOT been printed from your file. If the above is what Andrey has put into the parcel, I am in for some serious fun at the customs office……… 😥
I am looking forward to Andrey’s email of tomorrow………

Replied to e-mail already. Andrey’ have seen your e-mail and tomorrow will reply. As far as I know he put there the invoice that he printed from my file and stamped it with Sporting Club stamp, and sent copy to you with the ordinary mail.
Update:
I have received an email from the German shippers. They do not have a copy of the invoice that is following the parcel….. 🙁
I have now emailed Andrey with cc to ED with a request for an urgent dispatch of a copy of the invoice to me………..

If I understand you correctly, – you are waiting for a FX Elite with a ST barrel ???? 😯 Aren’t you happy with your BSA’s anymore or what ??? Anyway, – a serious comparison between the two can be nothing but good. The more info the better………
I have heard so much positive stuff about the EDguns I decided to try for myself. But as you may have seen, – that has certainly been easier said than done. This is the status as we speak:
The package is now being held by customs awaiting my import licences. Something which puzzles me a little, but then I have not seen the documents following the parcel……
If the documents state cal.22, – it makes sense. Cal.22 requires import licence which I have……
If not, but rather states cal.177, – somebody in customs must have opened the parcel and checked for themselves and found a mismatch. If there’s a mismatch between documents and the actual contents of the parcel, – I may have a fun ride up ahead…. 😉
Before embarking on that journey, I need to know exactly what is said on the documents following the parcel so I don’t make a fool of myself facing the customs authorities….
So please ED, – copy of the documents urgently pls !!!! 😀

I have had a rifle “coming” since about Sept 2010 with 4 Permits to Acquire that ran out of gas. It MAY be somewhere between (you guessed) Germany and OZ now. So, when you have your Edgun and I have my Elite, we should have a celebration with 10 shots at 100 paces!

The scan you sent me never got into the parcel sent from Andrej to Germany. That I know.
The document Andrej provided with the parcel to Germany has no receiver’s name on it (my name is not mentioned) and a totally different value than I instructed you to use in my email of Aug 1st. It does not look like your proforma invoice at all and has “Sporting Club OU” as the exporter. It is NOT the document you and I agreed to use……
If Andrej’s own document is still following the parcel, – I cannot use your scan for customs purposes. The document following the parcel shall have to be the same as the one used to declare in front of customs.
My problem is I don’t know exactly what documents are included with my parcel (inside it). Do you know ????

As far as I remember I’ve sent you scan of the invoice, haven’t I? As for the papers, they have to be there, though I will not be surprised if something happened to them during all those deliveres… 🙁
