so i received my USED .25 Condor a few days ago and finally had some time to shoot her…
drew around 5 shot groups
OK so my “bench” is a Rubber Made trash can, the bag rests are from Dick’s and i sit on an old speaker….
its 27 frick’n yards!! these Kodiaks should stack!
so i started looking a Little closer…
a little CLOSER…

OK, lets tear it down and see… rattle rattle.

ive not pushed a cotton ball but have run about 8-10 cleaning patches through it, they’ve all come through “clean” (unsnagged)

have you shot tighter groups with other rifles.?
have you run a oiled tight patch down the bore to see if there are any snags or if you can feel any thing in the bore and that all is smooth.
push a cotton ball down the bore and see if there are any snags as it comes out the bore.?????????????
You are right at the edge of a kodiak being able to stay stable at those speeds….
sadly, ive tried.
took them (31 grain .25 Kodiak) down to a 900-960 spread (PW 1 , 2500psi) same groups

as it looks like Walt’s .25 barrel run has been put on hold 🙁
im going to try out a .22 barrel (24″)
i can only assume since .25 Kodiaks were just shy of 1050fps the same set-up is going to KILL just about ANY .22 pellet i throw @ it
so far i havent played with the TopHat (nor have i measured its setting) just the fill pressure and PW.
im also going to assume that even if i drop the PW to -0- the TT hammer would have the possibility to damage the valve if i close the gap too much.
… suggestions?

put about 225 pellets down range today.
learned a few things…
– its not the moderator.
shot 4x 5 shot 20 yard groups without the moderator on, they look exactly the same as the silenced groups.
– the barrel is choked @ the muzzle end; even a Kodiak wont go in that end.
– you can still shoot the SHIT out’a soup cans @ 75 yards with this thing.
i was surprised it was hitting them as well as it did, 3 out of 5 (rough guess)
– a Crony mounted on a (camera) tri-pod is a VERY handy thing
– a Beeman 21.6 Grain Wadcutter @ 1200fps sound SWEET!! 😆 😈 😆
think ill just kick back and use her as is till (hopefully) one of Walt’s barrels shows up @ my door. 😀

hummm, yep, still have one of those EJ beasts in my pocket…
it mics (digi calipers) @ .251″ – .254″ around the rings and .250″ – .260” around the skirt. 😯

course this is just one pellet but still gives (us) an idea of what wasn’t fitting in my barrel.

The slugs for LW barrels with regular grooves are sized to exactly .251 so they would be a good choice to use to compare to other owners and their barrels.
Curious about the tight fitting pellets… any chance this barrel got milled at the wrong end?
