1st Rogue in…….NOT GOOD
If you haven’t seen it over on the Yellow, the 1st Rogue experience is not a good one.
I have to say that even today, i am still amazed at how folks will DEFEND a gun that doesn’t shoot well and its manufacturer. Were is the FIGHT in all of us anymore? Everyone is telling the guy to send the gun back to Crosman and Crosman will make it right. Am i the only IDIOT who still beieves in the simple principle that if they don’t get it right the first time then why give them a second one. For 1300-1500 bucks, 25 bucks for 25 bullets, and a shit load of HYPE, if i got results like what that guy got, Crosman would receive a RETURN package from me alright, but my Rogue would not be in it…lol. It just amazes me how folks get crap and all anyone can say is, “they’ll do you right, send it back”. It cost time and money to ship a gun “ONCE PAID FOR” back for repairs or service that it SHOULD NOT NEED in the first place. Trust me, i know that if i DO NOT know how to work on airguns, then i have no choice but to return it but this is simply BULLSHIT.
I guess my attitude comes from having one too many AIRguns that cost a ton of money have issues from the jump. BB guns simply COST waaayyy to fucking much money for what they are and for the problems they have to exist when NEW.

Sorry Jerry, it was more of a rhetorical question, OF COURSE I know you would pull anything like that… You pulled the project because they weren’t perfect (I should say up to your standards, which are high and that is GOOD), total opposite of what I suspect is going with the Rogue.
Say someone shoots the slugs at six different speeds and can;t get good results. Their rifle would be to blame right? Now what if that was an expensive 25 cal rifle and it was brand new with issues? Piece of shit right? Because it’s not the slugs, right?
What more evidence is needed?
The very slug designed and cast for that very rifle doesn’t group for shit at different velocities… He tried three other slugs and they didn’t group for shit…

IM(not so humble)O this rifle should be a shooter out of the box for $1300. Maybe i’m just spoiled by $600 guns that group better at twice the distance… Sure they don’t get 200fpe but what good is it if it’s not accurate? 🙂
It should be a shooter with the very slug designed for the rifle right out of the box, no excuses… It shoots all the ammo basically the same… It’s the rifle then right?
I’m sure some of the rifles will be shooters, which I would expect from the MRod or the other entry level pcp they produce. Problem is this IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL RIFLE in my book… The SamYang for $600 is entry level big bore…
I just don’t get why there is a pass given for something that should meet high expectations. Perhaps it’s because they produce junk and everyone is cool with that… They are used to it. So some rifles will shoot better than others, not a worth $1300 to gamble on that type of a crappy product… Every single Rogue should pass high expectations…

No, Surefire Casting wouldn’t offer a shit slug for a gun we made if we could make a gun. I think we’ve demonstrated that about as freaking clear as is possible. Don’t you? In fact, I’m a little disappointed by the question given that you’ve seen the whole .22 thing and I’m pretty sure you know we had at least one report that was great in the midst of all the reports that caused me to stop work.
I thought our reputation might help in you and others realizing where my comments come from. Just the other day, another fellow here posted about a really great result with 6 rings. That does not mean that every person to evr shoot them has been a sharpshooter. In fact, a couple of people who couldn’t hit water falling out of a boat have bought the slugs. If one of them posted tomorrow that the slugs were crap, would you buy it? No, you’ve seen tons of evidence and you’d suspect something other than the slugs being crap.
Well, the first report is just that. What if the next 3 guys that actually give a shit about posting results come back with decent or great results? Will they be called Crosman water boys or will their results make you wonder if the first report was just one of many to come? My biggest issue is the limited data in the first report. Listing the weights of 4 slugs is hardly difficult. I suspect if someone here had posted the same results, I’d have given them greater credence based on the poster’s rep. But one guy who nobody could tell me was especially expert (I did ask about his rep) wasn’t about to get me on the bash or protect bandwagon…

In most people, the left testicle hangs lower than the right. Therefore, the left nut is more prone to damage from kicks to the groin, bicycle bars, and angry wives/girlfriends.
Either way, my idea is send the lower of the two. You can still function with one nut, but why not keep the best nut you own?

If I paid $1300 for that out of the box performance i’d be more than miffed. I’d get a full refund and buy a XP Ranger with 2″-3″ groups at 100 yards…
Why have a bullet produced for the rifle if it doesn’t work better than other pb bullets for the same caliber?
Would Surefire produce a bullet that doesn’t work as well in their rifles as an already existing bullet and sell if for a profit ? I don’t think so.

There is absolutely no reason why their own bullets shouldn’t do well in their own rifle right out of the box for $1300… No excuses for clipping, leaking, difficult fill procedures, it’s a HUNTING rig. It’s going to get dirty, wet, banged up, take out in the field and heavy projectiles shot through it…

I didn’t see that JC got any abuse. It seemed more like arguments breaking out about the gun and whatnot but nobody really called out JC. I think he ought to back up his initial post. I think most of us here would back up that kind of statement with more than he did. We’d be taking a real beating if we didn’t!

JC posted prior to the Rogue post that he didn’t want to offer much info and just wanted to post a video. I wouldn’t be back to that forum after getting that type of grief after spending $1300 plus on a rifle that doesn’t really work like it should…
I would think for close to $1500 a person would expect a rifle that actually shot without issues out of the box. I would and any rational person would. That amount of cash is not something where you need to do a bunch of bullshit to get it going apart from testing three or four different types of ammo at different velocities. And even less if the manufacturer HAS A CUSTOM BULLET MADE FOR IT!!!!!
I would even expect a test target for the price, it would show that the manufacturer made sure it worked before it shipped and it would give the customer a starting and reference point. Obviously Benjamin is new to this price range and doesn’t understand the high end airgun business as they should.
I’ll stick with a long wait from a company that has a reputation for producing quality at that price thank you very much…

Easy fix for a brand new $1300 rifle… Why? For that price there should be no fixing anything. It should work no excuses. It should work even with a slow leak, no excuses. It should have been designed to work without a ultra slow fill procedure which was obviously found AFTER the rifles were shipped and the instructions printed…

This is not the first $1300+ rifle to not work right out of the box. Has anyone noticed the countless similar reports about FX Royales, Daystates, Rapids? With those rifles, is it not common for the problem to be an easily resolved issue with the magazine, shroud, or ???
I think that reports like we saw on the Yellow are what everyone is EXPECTING, and some folks couldn’t wait to say “I told you so”.
Now I understand not giving Crosman the benefit of the doubt due to Crosman traditionally producing very cheap guns (760’s are going for like $35!), and all the mess the Rods have made. I remain hopeful, but I’m not giving the benefit of the doubt by any stretch.
In my opinion I find Crosmans’ methods quite shady judging from the contact I have had with their representative on another forum, and the blatantly false info that remains on one of their field staffers’ review. It is one of maybe two reviews on this rifle after being on the market for two months, so everyone looking for info on this rifle will see it.
How many folks are going to be drawn to this rifle because they read that review, and think it gets 45 shots on low power with a 100grain slug with something like 1500psi remaining in the tank? I feel leaving that up is dis-honest to say the least…..perhaps bait and switchish?
