.22 LR vs. .22/25 Bp ( of any kind)
There´s been lots of talk whether an airgun in .22/25/30 beats an .22 LR in accuracy to 50,75 and/or 100 meters ( or yards) so i´d like to add a new thread where we can compare group sizing on those aforementioned rifles/distances to get out something more than assumptions and biased quesses out of it. I. myself, have been leaned towards to airguns – at least up to 50m. but i´m no longer all too sure about that. i love my EdGun but when the groups get all that much tighter with my .22 LR i´m beginning to wonder….

Yea I took a Narco (pain pill) last night for some oral surgery I had to sleep. Its amazing anything I posted last night was sensical. 😡
Which reminds me – i just bought a case of 5000 rounds of Norma 2. Now i have 9000+ rounds of that well shooting ammunition, 3000+ rounds of SK Standard Plus and few thousand rounds of miscellaneous RWS,Eley & Lapua.
What ammo shortage ?? 😉

I think his answer is to the comment that RF ammo costs more than AG ammo.

Theroies are a lot like well laid plans before a battle. They go out the window when it hits the fan. (Loose translation, Theroies be damed, it’s results that count, not arm chair theroist!)
Been there, done that counts. Not what some imagines will happen. I was told for years that you can’t shoot a pellet gun much past 10 meters. Then it was 20-25-50 on and on it went for years. When I first posted my groups at 10 yards, I was called a lier more than once. 😆 I dare not post at 250-300 yards. Oh Hell No!
Now it seems that every body and their dog is getting on the wagon. 😆

You should see the looks I get at any Gun Store when asking to see their better Scopes. When I answer what it is going on, you would think I was talking pure insanity. 😯
The few that have come to my home and tried it for themselves were shocked to the bone. AND LOVED IT!!! 😯 😯 😯
There have been few that were not impressed and said it still wasn’t a real gun. When that happens, I find an excuse to send them down range to fix a target, and slip the LDC off the bbl. When they get back, I have them shoot it one more time so I can watch the bullet impact. (only an excuse to have them shoot one more time.)
KER-BOOM!!! They just about shit themselves. 😯 I had one guy jump up from the bench thinking he had just blown himself or the gun up. 😈 And every damed time,they suddenly get VERY interested!

Amen ! This all started actually with an arguement i had with few Mr, Know-It-All´s at a Swedish AG forum some good while ago. I was deemed a moroon if i ever thought a RF would beat an AG at 50m grouping providing the shooter does his job. Well , i´m not an exceptionel marksman but i consider being an OK shooter – with a powderburner or AG whther it being a PCP or a springer and i´ve had my fair doubts about the subject.
I also suspect that those bozos at that forum haven´t shot one round with anything propelled with powder nor any AG on the better side of a Hatsan.
There are guys on that forum who really can shoot AG at the high level but they didn´t have any opinion on the matter , probably due the lack of interrest,lack of experience with powderburners or both thereoff. Most of the opinions , as always on that forum , started with a frase : “In theory ….” and included lots of BS about the bullet/pellet BC and such so i got pissed at those born theoretics and that ultimately lead to me being banned from the forum – twice …

This discussion, as to which is more accurate, PB or AG Puts a big 😀 on just how accurate either can be. It isn’t an either or thing. It’s a grab your favorite Rifle and have a hell of a good time! 😉

I fear you are correct but the Crickets and Matadors can get mighty close. No Predators? 😯 The .25s shoot great.
Went to the range today to air out my trusty Sako and so i shot some 5 shot groups, totally eight of them. Either me or the rifle was on fire (and i feel more like lukewarm myself) but the biggest 5 shot group / 50 meters was 8.65 mm and the smallest measured 5.3 mm. I´m quite sure about the answer to the OT now. There´s no way i can shoot any air-rifle this accurate and taken to a consideration it was quite windy out there i don´t know any other who could pulled that off – eight times in a row.
Tomorrow it´s Cricket time and i´ll see what my newly tuned trigger has in storage for me. I have high hopes anyway. I´m also all geared up with different pellets for testing ; The venerable King, H&N Barracuda, H&N FT, H&N Barracuda Hunter Xtreme & Benjamin´s.
Here´s a pic of the best five-shotter of the day:
Ruger mk3 pistol with 7″ barrel using cheap federal 510… I can hit a 3″ target at 100yards off a rest using a red dot. I will say my old eyes struggle… My friend’s son can see all the targets!!!!

Mounted on a Barrel Tuner and tuned it in. A ridiculously accurate gun became stupidly accurate. I´ll sure try one of these tuners on the Cricket too.
