25.5 fpe @ 65yds…I was blown away at the power…
I, for some reason, thumbed my nose up at anything less than 35fpe because I had no idea how much knock down power that was at longer distances…Well today I shot some Beeman Kodiaks at some pellet tin lids at 65yds with a muzzle fpe of 25.5 and I could not believe the amount of force that was still left at 65yds….I would say it is more than enough for any small game at that distance and possible 10-20 yds further….After going through the pellet tins, the pellets were buried in treated pine that has been sitting outside for over a year. It was not soft. I could see these shots going straight through any small game at this distance…

Oh yea…My compressor got shipped from California today…Should see it by the weekend or next week….Gotta pull that down and reseal it….Project #2….

Was lucky to get the 10 – 30 yard clicks set up on one of my USFT’s the other day before the rain started dumping….now I need 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, and 65 yards!
Which compressor did you get? I need to rebuild/reseal my FX compressor, have the parts but been too lazy for the past 2 months!!!

No worries Jeff, just trying to help, if you only knew how close I was to smashing my new $3,000 Vanquish because it would not group!!! Took lots of hands on work, guessing and experimenting to make it shoot like its supposed to!

Hey thanks again for all the help…..Nice to have someone that knows first hand what these guns can do….We’ll push it till we get one holers at 153.5yds. Ok maybe 53.5yds.

Well looks like Thursday is the reg tank testing day…..
And when I get a day or a time in the day where the
wind isn’t blowing I’ll be able to see just how tight it
is or isn’t….Now (thanks to your prodding) that I am
comfortable pulling the gun completely apart I guess
I could polish the inside of the frame and possibley do
more work on the trigger sear to see if I can get everything
freed up and running smooth at any PW setting…..Ideas welcome…….And I still haven’t run the pressure down below
2,300 or so with the changes I have made….It just might get
really tight at lower pressures and velocities…Guess I could
try some low pressure fills tomorrow and see what happens…..

I try to sort them visually Tony but haven’t done the weight thing ….I was holding off about 1.2 mil high and 1 mil right….I did shoot some 25yd shots and they were great…The 2 pellets had almost the same POI at that range….Both one holer groups…..
with a 10-15 mph wind at 65yds….I am pretty happy
with these results…..2,750psi PW 10….JSB seems to
be out performing the Kodiaks. Go figure….Hopefully
the JSB Exact extra heavys will be somewhere in between…
The JSB group on the bottom right is 1.24″
Ever think of pulling the targets in to 25 yards so wind won’t be as much of a variable? You can always do the 50+ yard groups when wind is minimal or nonexistent to really see how the long range groups print and determine best long range pellet, granted the JSB’s are doing fine…
To really test at range, you might want to try weighing and sorting pellets so that each 5 shot group is using pellets that weight the same, down to the 1/10 grain and have been visually inspected for nicks, dents and flashing inside the skirt, etc….
Were you holding off for the wind or just aiming dead on the target?

Those were bench…I think the shots the other day were 25yd….I have had some 4 or 5 shot 1 hole groups @ 65yds that would sparatically show up through a 30 shot string but the rest would be all over the place…I think the hammer was hangin on something..fps would go from 850 one shot to 640 the next. I think I have it worked out now or at least a lot better than it was…
Off hand or bench? Your bench shots the other day were tighter, was it a closer target or a different rifle?
Probably 45deg…little more than 1 mil dot.. Gobs better than it has been….There was no rhyme nor reason to the shot patterns yesterday…Gun was messed up….looks reasonable now……..
65 yards/ 10-15 mph 90* cross wind. Not too bad.
24, 18 or 12 inch barrel???
It is a Condor with a Talon tank and hammer, 24″….Wind was 10-15 from the right….
