25.5 fpe @ 65yds…I was blown away at the power…
I, for some reason, thumbed my nose up at anything less than 35fpe because I had no idea how much knock down power that was at longer distances…Well today I shot some Beeman Kodiaks at some pellet tin lids at 65yds with a muzzle fpe of 25.5 and I could not believe the amount of force that was still left at 65yds….I would say it is more than enough for any small game at that distance and possible 10-20 yds further….After going through the pellet tins, the pellets were buried in treated pine that has been sitting outside for over a year. It was not soft. I could see these shots going straight through any small game at this distance…

and get it under control…keep trying different fills/power wheel, maybe try 2700psi fill next, same power wheel setting…seems like once it gets the first few shots out of the way, your in the 920 – 940 fps range…
Or fill again to 2850psi, same power wheel, shoot 2 “cleansing shots” and start chonying that 3rd shot on…
On regged guns, after filling, I always fire one or two dry fire shots to make sure the reg is topped off and ready to go…

It looks a ton better than the 2,800psi with PW2/11…I think the PW increase makes it better..The hammer hang is still there and still as Sporadic as before…I highlighted the fps where it looks like I am still getting some hammer hang but it is not nearly as bad….

Now you’re gonna have me buying a BSA Super 10 MKIII in .20 cal…I have to stop listening to your gun descriptions…You should do ad writeups of BSA..You would sell a ton of guns….lol
But other guns can be had in .25…sometimes I do wonder if I should go into sales! 😀

IN general, and especially now with the BSA incentives/promotions, the Super Tens are the best deal out there. BSA barrels are know for their accuracy, add in the regulator, options for SAS Moderator or Bull Barrel, starting at $895, its a hell of a value…Built like a tank, free floated barrel, it isn’t a light duty rifle that needs to be babied…

Wondering what your results will be if using the stock weight and try cranking the hammer wheel up to crack that valve open a bit more and abruptly…might find some balance that way for consistency…

To say you have an impressive collection of guns is a vast understatement. You’re also a pretty damned good shot! Considering the variety and quality I am curious as to why you pick the BSA Super Ten MK III as your favorite. I have considered the BSA brand before and would love to hear your thoughts.

The John Bowkett Blueprinted sub 12fpe BSA Super 10 MKIII(.22) is my favorite gun because:
1. The designer of the gun made it specifically for me and my needs/wants.
2. Extremely accurate
3. Extremely quiet, under certain conditions, I can hear the pellets whizzing down range to target!!! 😀
4. Extremely consistent/efficient, I get 200 plus shots off a fill! 😯 😀

Factory guns, acceptable sporter trigger and depending on that power wheel, fill pressure and top hat setting, you can get a bell curve.
Accuracy wise I’ve experienced similar accuracy with tuned and non tuned guns, albeit my Talon Tuned SS(.22) holds the long distance hunt record with a 100+yard shot on a ground squirrel with Doug Owen on trigger…

Would love to able to have a reasonable assumption that if I shot at something at 100yds I would have a good chance of hitting it if I did my part…That would be great….
I tried 2800psi and shot it down to 1900 with PW 2/11….FPS is all over the place until I get down to around 2100. The SD is still 15 so that is not great either….I am thinking that even if I don’t get the high shot count using the Condor weight, I might be getting better consistancy just because the hammer has more mass to carry it through any rough spots on it’s way to slamming the air valve…Adding the weight also compresses the hammer spring too which might help if I am still having “hammer hang”…I am still testing….The AF frame with trigger and bottle adapter ring will cost me about $259.95 + shipping….That is still an option if something good doesn’t work out soon….
Ya gotta have mental/emotional confidence in your equipment to shoot well imho…on that ground squirrel shot, keep in mind that Doug is one hell of a shot, has way more years of experience shooting firearms competitively and noncompetitively plus in incredible knowledge of firearms, ballistics/mechanics/all that technical stuff that when discussed, I’m looking for something to eat/drink and set back and “try” to absorb/understand!!! 😯

While he’s a great guy and all, he’s also dangerous. He has a twisted sense of humor. Once, for a group hunt, I asked to borrow ‘a quiet rifle’ so I wouldn’t disturb the other shooters as much. He loaned me a .22 Talon SS. I made what to me were some outstanding shots with this novel borrowed gun and just had to have one…..yes, Tony is responsible for my fixation with AF guns. He waited until after I’d asked dozens of questions and ordered one from PA before he got around to telling me the gun he’d loaned me was a full up Talon Tunes gun (I thought all it had was a fancy grip and the factory scope rail…..). He’s like that.
And he shoots to well to get even by outshooting him…..

Doug, you know what they say about ASSumptions, but, I assume you’ve had the chance to shoot both a stock A.F. rifle and the T.T. rifle. Would you please describe in your own words the difference between stock and a T.T. Tony rifle. Thanks.
The Talon Tuned guns will have a much nicer trigger that is light and crisp down to 10oz. on mine. Tony’s guns tend to run on the hot side, tight strings for 20 or less shots but declining velocities, generally no bell curve to the shot string.

Here is the target test Tony….I did it at PW6 and at PW 10….
Seems the more PW I give it the tighter the groups….
You can see that one hammer hang on the top right…
I knew when I shot it that it was way different…That
has been my problem this whole stinkin time……The
top 2 groups are JSB and the Bottom 3 are Kodiaks…
Wind blowing 15mph from the right to the left….
