I won’t talk about the sock if you stop making me consider I may have been a mistake!
😀 😀 😀
Did you leave out that comment? May as well make it, I think you may be the only one left. 😆
After I let the comment about you making a cock sock out of one of the world’s smallest mammels slide, you cough up this shit? Really.
From what I’ve heard, it’s how you got your name. They jerry-rigged a condom which didn’t work, and so they thought jerry was an appropriate name. 😆 😆 😆
Walter,
I have a Condor with a custom valve installed. I would not have commented as definitively as I did without a fairly good understanding of what I was babbling on about. The valve I have is probably a good bit less sophisticated than the valve our OP writer has (as I’ve seen the pictures) but the issues are the same. Fortunately, when I first had issues with my rudimentary valve, I waited for the maker to provide information, I applied that information and my gun worked fine afterwards.
The fact is that the operator issues were not explored in the haste to abuse the seller. How about Peter sends me that valve COD and if I can get the bottle pressurized in 24 hours, he owes me double the shipping total and if not, I buy the valve for what he paid Selph?
I understand how this valve and fill work and my comments appear accurate to me even after review initiated by your respected comments.
Oh BTW. YN what’s all this BS about “jerry rigged”?
Yellow, well said.
Wok, you would want that chunk inside the tank..????… mmmmm ok
Get over it
I’m all over it! Not the one with the poor understanding so I can get over it quite easily 🙂
Don’t forget a short quick blast filling with a tank can often remove a speck of dust or matter and allow the valve to close once it is removed.
Slow filling often can not blow it out.
Do not get sidetracked with poor information. The pump is NOT the problem if the valve is not sealing. Once the assembly is up to a pressure of say 200 bar or 3,000psi it makes zero difference where that air came from.
a leaker is a poor fit of parts or a split Delrin seal
Walt,
How come on many people have not been able to get the valve to seal on the AA410’s by using a hand pump and had to go to a place with a scuba to get it to fill and seal?
Once you are hooked on the pump, there is nowhere for the air to leak out to! Once you depressurise the pump and remove the bottle, sure it may leak. But whilst its on the pump, how does the air get out??
On other rifles where you don’t remove the bottle, ok, but the AF bottle comes off and is attached to the pump..
With the 410 it comes out of the barrel because the valve needs more pressure to keep it closed than a pump can provide when pumping from zero.
Pyramid sent my AA empty, I’d let Cygnusx borrow my scuba when it arrived so I spent ages pumping, no dice. Ended up having to use a jerry rigged CO2 tank to fill it to 500psi, and then pump which worked fine.
My gauge leaked a bit at first too until I tightened it so after a few days the gun would get down to about 200 psi and then dump.
But your right – in the AF valve its a closed system so this shouldn’t happen……. as long as you don’t use the bleed screw until after you’ve reached the point where pressure will keep the valve closed.
Blodnob was kind enough to send me one of his hand made valve’s. It would screw into my fill adapter, but not the gun. Brad offered to fix it and he did so very quickly and re blued the valve for me and returned it for free.
Just saying – I don’t think Brad is a bad apple, he’s just got other priorities…. thing is, its all there for people to see here because we don’t delete things like that so at least buyers can make a more informed choice.
I also don’t mind offering support for the valve’s…. I don’t care who makes a part or an accessory, if an end user asks for help we should provide what we can. Sometimes all a seller can do is say send it back for them to fix….. but if the buyer asks here we have a lot of good minds and might be able to trouble shoot a simple repair.

Get over it
I am baffled by the lack of understanding of how an airforce tank is filled
I bought a new Daystate that was not filled and it would NOT fill with a hand pump. I didn’t have access to a compressor or scuba tank back then so I rigged a connection between my condor bottle and the fill port on the Daystate. Once the blast of air hit the Daystate tank, the valve sealed and I was able to finish filling with the hand pump. It is entirely possible that is what’s needed here and possibly not a defective valve.
Lets not forget good ole Nigel Avery and others had to take it here to the board to get a response after weeks for trying.
I’m guessing it is the bleed hole about one thread from the top leaking…
I will know soon enough though, I will be attempting to hand pump up the valve myself from zero…
Only thing I can somewhat equate this with is the sealing of a car tire. If you just put a tire on a rim you will not be able to seat the beads with bicycle tire pump (which works just fine to inflate the tire once the bead is seated). To seat the bead you have to use a blast of compressed air…
Of course a car tire is not a PCP valve… 😉

Agreed!
It was funny though, I don’t care who ya are. 😉
