Q:

Damn, but I’m good.

I made a revision to my valve design. Knocked out the body a few days ago, got the stem done today.

It glides in the body like silk, yet when I suck on it it pulls the stem up, and I cannot blow air past it. No o-ring required.

I am a lathing and milling god. Anyone want to buy one? I fancy a holiday in Argentina.

It’s a now defunct design so the need won’t arise again.

A couple of days ago I fixed the problem with the bottle-collar dropping, I put two grub-screws into the frame at 10 and 2 o’clock. It’s rock solid now.

Today I did that new cocking-knob I mentioned in the PM, it looks real sweet and cocks nicely but the breech is pulling the head (tophat) from the stem when it shoots forward after firing, which is a ball-ache. So the head needs to be more tightly fitted onto the stem (which would make it difficult to pull off with the fingers when a head-change is desired) or I need to devise a locking-doobrie to stop the breech flying forward.

Two steps forward, one step back. 😆

The breech should not be flying forward at all!!!!

turn the cocking knob over into the locked position and it will stop flying forwards.

Seeing as you are making the tophat custom anyways you should be able to get the clearance to a minimum as well.

It’s all experimental. The cocking-knob I have now isn’t really a knob at all, it runs almost the full length of the breech-block and rides in the slot. It just appealed to me, and I was hoping the breech wouldn’t fly forwards so much.

There’s no space left on the cocking-knob base to bring it back to coincide with the locking-notch, so I’m going to extend the notch down one side a bit. Strangely enough the notches fit almost perfectly with the restricted head fitted.

I’ll get a picture up.

a pipe clamp makes for a great press, and already has non marring jaws 😉

As for the valve…. I no doubt will get one from you…….eventually 😆 I’ve got an 800cc bottle here that one would go nice on, aswell as giving me plenty of shots but I still havn’t flipped the butt pad and I’m running out of options on how to so I still can’t use that bottle. I’ve just today got my regulated bottle too so that will be first to test and get It running sweet.

I’m not bothered about marks on the valve, the rifle’s a tool, not a decoration. Gives it that gnarly look. 😆

YN, sarcasm hasn’t hurt this chap’s business. I’m one of his biggest fans. Have a read on the various pages, he’s a hoot.

I tried the adjustable grips on my valve and even when It gripped It tight It still left marks on the valve. In the end I gripped the valve In a soft jaw vice and twisted the bottle but not everyone has that option. I’m not worried about cost of tools as I have the basics just want something easier to remove. Just an idea for you anyway 😉

It could be done, put two flats on it, but it’s just as easy to use a set of adjustable grips and they’d cost about the same as a large spanner. Which then saves me the work. 😉

Looking good Lang 😉 Just something that I noticed, Nothing too techy with It coming from me but what about making that outside bit of the valve so you can fit a spanner on It? Just from my limited experiance of taking the stock stealth valve off the bottle as It’s round It’s a right ball ache first time.

na, she was something like 5’8″ and about 120 when we first hooked up, and probably around 180 when I had had more than enough, but I’ve been told she is really taking care of her self and is about 240 + now
