EDgun Matador, caliber .30, second generation.
Dear friends,
Some of you has problems with the valves on these guns. I have to confess that is my fault. The point is that I made heavier hammer in order to get more power, but left the valve rod the same diameter, 2 mm. So, when the hammer impact the valve, its inertion doesn’t allow the valve to move properly “forward and back” and the rod has too strong force and due to that force can curve.
Once again, that is my fault as the designer and engeneer of this gun. Sorry for that. I’ve ordered new 3 mm. hardened, polished rods (to tell you truth that is a kind of quest to find them, there is no one in Russia, I’ve ordered them from EU and they promissed me to deliver them in February). As soon as I have them I will make new valves and the valve guide to change in the back plug. I think that is quite easy operation which can be done by owner himself. Besides I will make a vid for that.
Sorry for that disadvantage, as you say “He is lifeless that is faultless.”
I will do my best to solve it as soon as possible.

Ed, I was told by Tony that I have to pay for repairs on my first gen. I don’t think is fair, would you comment on this manner please.

For those that don’t have access to the proper tools or the skill to bore the new diameter you may want to consider modifying a front end piece for us and send as a kit of some sort. Just a suggestion. Maybe its easier than I realize.
Also, if I read your previous post correctly it sounds as if the regulator assemblies are cut from one piece of aluminum, bored out, sectioned and then final machined (holes and threads) at the same time? If so I can see your concern about concentricity of the valve stem bore, to the rest of the assembly, if you only supply the front end.
Your thoughts on this?

Most likely the best way would be to drill the present guid, that will be faster.
Just to be clear, will this be made with a whole new portion of the regulator that will come together or are you expecting everyone to drill out there existing regulator to accommodate the new 3mm valve? I know the brass portion cant be removed because it has been staked in there and im just wanting to get a good picture of how it will all come together?

I think “yes”, the same operation, either to drill the present guide to 3 mm or to install the new one (I would prefer to drill thee present, since they are drilled alone the axis and installing the new guide could, probably, give the problem with axis.

I agree with Dan on this one would be nice to just replace parts not have to go buy drill bits and tools
Also may require new spring so a kit may be the best way to fix it and it still be a “Edgun” not a whore gun any updates can u share with us Ed keep us updated its easy to become impatient when days go by we can’t shoot our .30 :3:
