EDgun Matador, caliber .30, second generation.
Dear friends,
Some of you has problems with the valves on these guns. I have to confess that is my fault. The point is that I made heavier hammer in order to get more power, but left the valve rod the same diameter, 2 mm. So, when the hammer impact the valve, its inertion doesn’t allow the valve to move properly “forward and back” and the rod has too strong force and due to that force can curve.
Once again, that is my fault as the designer and engeneer of this gun. Sorry for that. I’ve ordered new 3 mm. hardened, polished rods (to tell you truth that is a kind of quest to find them, there is no one in Russia, I’ve ordered them from EU and they promissed me to deliver them in February). As soon as I have them I will make new valves and the valve guide to change in the back plug. I think that is quite easy operation which can be done by owner himself. Besides I will make a vid for that.
Sorry for that disadvantage, as you say “He is lifeless that is faultless.”
I will do my best to solve it as soon as possible.

Looks good man. I went down a bit different path but I hope we can arrive at an inflection point with these .30’s and get this issue behind us.

I agree completely Oakey he thinks he can do what he did to the gen 1 guys just put out another gun he said the new generations will have the 3mm valve :13: because he knew of the design flaw he knew it would fail and sold them anyways

Ed if u put out a new gun before u fix your old guns with admitted design flaws Ed you and your guns Edgun just went to the bottom u be hard pressed to get people to buy rifles when u won’t stand behind your product and now have a reputation of making huge mistakes or worse u knew about the design flaw and fucked your customers anyway

I’ll tell you why he’s pissed, it doesn’t take money to communicate. I am not sure without the video I made that this problem would have been addressed. I have a strong suspicion that the R4 would have been introduced and we second generation R3 .30 owners would have been left in the exact same boat as the Generation 1 owners. Since 2013 when the first Gen 1 .30s hit the USA they had problems. There are guys who have had their .30 caliber Matadors out of service for over a year with no help from Tony or Ed. Mr whore knows I have tried to communicate with Ed and he had not reciprocated. Basically other than a “sorry” and a “it’s hard to find 3mm stems” we have not had a single update or reassurance that our guns are going to be fixed. This is not an isolated problem.
So lucky for me I have a very cool American tool and die maker that understands how desperate I was to fix my 2k gun and this is what he produced in ONE WEEK!
So this isn’t about crowning anyone, it is frustration on the highest level. It’s a response to the lack of caring ,poor communication, bad customer service and working without a sense of urgency.
This is my message to the R3 .30 owners…be patient I will test this new system and publish results and together we will fix our guns.
