EDgun Matador, caliber .30, second generation.
Dear friends,
Some of you has problems with the valves on these guns. I have to confess that is my fault. The point is that I made heavier hammer in order to get more power, but left the valve rod the same diameter, 2 mm. So, when the hammer impact the valve, its inertion doesn’t allow the valve to move properly “forward and back” and the rod has too strong force and due to that force can curve.
Once again, that is my fault as the designer and engeneer of this gun. Sorry for that. I’ve ordered new 3 mm. hardened, polished rods (to tell you truth that is a kind of quest to find them, there is no one in Russia, I’ve ordered them from EU and they promissed me to deliver them in February). As soon as I have them I will make new valves and the valve guide to change in the back plug. I think that is quite easy operation which can be done by owner himself. Besides I will make a vid for that.
Sorry for that disadvantage, as you say “He is lifeless that is faultless.”
I will do my best to solve it as soon as possible.

I after months of waiting just got the email saying the parts are on the way it’s unfortunate because if they were sent 1 wk earlier I would get them. I’m moving out of town to more remote areas more shooting
However the parts were sent to my old address I filed for a change of addres with the post office in hopes of them forwarding the parts I hope
If for some reason I can not get them how do I go about getting a set sent to my new address
Can I buy another set since it’s not really your fault that I moved I just don’t have a lot of faith that the post office will be able to successfully change my address I do not know I’ve never have to depend on the change of address form
Worst case scenario I just pay John Hagen to do it but rather not have to ship my regulater

contact your old adress they usally forward everything on. I moved 2 years ago and they still forward it !!!

This week the parts will be sent to those who’s given me the address and phone number. You will be notified by e-mail about the track number. In fact, as I alwasy say, the negative feedback is just a small part of the real situation. I mean that I got only 11 requests to change the details out of 200 guns sold out. But the wave of negative was like all of them are bad 🙂
In few days I will make topic with video about installing new plugs and valves. I tested four guns today with new valves, the speed is the same about 260 m/sec (855 f/sec) and accuracty for 50 meter was wonderful.

For those who has no issues with their guns I would offer wait a little bit until I finish with those who has, in many case you will not have any problem in the future as well, as not all 2nd gen. Matador .30 have that issue.

No worries. So I received the .25 Maddy housing back plug thingy today. Well made piece of aluminum. My Gen 1 .30 has been in and out so many times its got a bit of wear on it. This one is shiny new.
Observations:
Gen 1 .30 : 8mm valve inlet and 6mm transfer port. More volume around the stem for sure. Flange that valve seals off on is taller too.
R3M .25 : 7mm valve inlet and 5mm transfer port. Much smaller area around the stem. Seal off area not as long. Valve stem cut for a .30 sticks way out.
Probably not a good candidate for a conversion. Good thing I have a .25 Maddy in bound!! :8: :8: Down with the sickness :7:

Gen 1 Fix via John Hagan:
1. New hammer which is about 500 grains or 32 grams ( I think Keyser meant grains)
2. 3mm valve stem. Your brass bushing/sleeve will need to be drilled out to accept it.
3. Reg checked to run at 130-140 bar. Most came in around 150 or higher.

I am in the process of moving today and tomorrow I will make another trip towing a traylor
I do not know the future nor the future tenants however like I stated I did fill out the change of address form
So I have never done this hope it all works out was just hoping if Ed had extras lying around since I think he said he only neede up sending out 11 whitch is shocking must have been a batch where the regulators were set too high and the rest were fine I was just hoping anyways Ed had a extra one and if by chance I do some how the goverment ran post office gets it right then I would have 2 kits so I would have to send one back or I can wait to see what happens like I said worst case scenario I pay John to fix it I sent Ed a pm maybe he will answer it :fishinghole: :fishinghole:
