Gun Expo Tradgedy, Accidental Death.
Father takes 8 year old son/s to a Machine gun Expo/Fun Shoot. Father let’s 8 year old son, Shoot a fully Automatic Uzi Sub machine gun. The boy shoots at a pumpkin and looses control of the Uzi and shoots himself in the head. The Uzi flips up all the way over to shoot backwards.
Now the local sheriff and the 2 Expo sponsors are being charged with manslaughter. No negligence charge against the Father. Who’s at fault here, would you let your 8 year old son shoot a full Auto handgun? Most adults can’t control a Full Automatic handgun! This is a tragedy, and shooter lacked proper training. Who’s responsible for a minor, and or his/her personal safety/gun safety? Wonder if they posted “Enter at Your Own Risk”?
Being a minor and not being responsible for his actions, why shouldn’t it fall to the parents/guardian? I think the shooter should be responsible, but being a minor, what do you think?

Once an officer isn’t representing the law or acting accordingly he is a much larger problem than a criminal, a criminal is just that, a cop being a criminal is unacceptable, they are supposed to be the opposite, they have SWORN to be the opposite.

These and other details were revealed in a $4 million lawsuit filed by the dead boy’s family on Nov. 6 in U.S. District Court in Springfield. The child accidentally shot himself in the head at the “Great New England Pumpkin Shoot” last October. The incident drew national attention, sparked widespread calls for gun reform and drew manslaughter charges against organizers of the annual expo – touted as an event for all ages where comers could fire exotic assault weapons without the permitting constraints.
Christopher K. BiziljThe details in the court documents show the gun apparently went off when the boy was attempting to keep it from falling after the stock of the weapon slipped down from his shoulder. His father, Dr. Charles D. Bizilj, who brought Christopher and his 11-year-old brother Colin, to the show, had been ordered to remain away from the firing line behind restraining ropes, according to the suit. The 32-page lawsuit alleges wrongful death and multiple layers of negligence against the Westfield Sportsman’s Club, which hosted the event, former Pelham Police Chief Edward Fleury, who organized the annual show, and two Connecticut men who owned or furnished the weapons at the show. Fleury, who resigned after the boy was killed, also faces criminal charges in Hampden Superior Court, along with Domenico J. Spano, of New Milford, Conn., and Carl Guiffre, of Hartford. They have pleaded innocent to charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting. According to the lawsuit filed by Suzanne M. and Charles D. Bizilj, the Micro Uzi 9mm automatic was owned by Giuffre and provided at the exposition by Spano. Lawyers for the three men and the club declined to comment, saying they had not yet seen the complaint. An attorney for the Biziljs, Bruce S. Melikian, said neither he nor the family would comment. No licenses were required for sponsors or participants to sell ammunition or provide use of the weapons to patrons, the Biziljs’ lawsuit states. Firearms had historically been offered for use to minors at the show, in violation of state law. Charles Bizilj, a physician from Ashford, Conn., brought Christopher and his 11-year-old brother, Colin, to the two-day show on Oct. 26, 2008. “The Plaintiff … purchased the opportunity for his son, the decedent, Christopher K. Bizilj, age 8, to fire A Micro Uzi 9mm automatic weapon,” the complaint states. The lawsuit also outlines the final moments of the boy’s life. Spano set the boy up at a firing line, where Spano’s 15-year-old-son acted as “line officer,” the complaint states. The teen loaded the weapon and handed it to Christopher Bizijl, providing instructions for handling it. “Charles Bizilj was ordered to stay clear of the area and was required to stand behind restraining ropes,” the lawsuit says. “The 15-year-old ‘line officer’ … backed away from the decedent after handing the child a loaded, fully automatic weapon.” The gun stuck twice when Christopher Bizilj attempted to fire it, the complaint says. The teen went back to clear a jammed round of ammunition. The boy put his finger on the trigger a third time. “Without further instruction or guidance from the line officer, the decedent placed his fingers on the trigger mechanism of the weapon and attempted to raise the Micro Uzi to his shoulder. The stock of the weapon slipped down from the decedent’s shoulder and the barrel of same spun upward. The decedent attempted to prevent the weapon from falling, and in doing so, the gun spun upward,” according to the complaint. The lawsuit alleges negligent entrustment, maintenance, training, wrongful death and infliction of emotional distress against all three men and corporations under their control. A trial had been set on the criminal charges in Hampden Superior Court for Dec. 7, but the trial was delayed and a status conference is scheduled for Dec. 8.

As a matter of fact I carried those weapons for so fucking long I couldnt wait to get rid them . and I absolutely hated carrying my side arm I had more fucking bruises getting in and out of cars than I care to think about. and I had to carry it off duty too . fucking pain in the ass.literally
