Just ordered a Short one
From Tony, it should arrive in 2 weeks or so after he test shoots it.
I can’t wait, in the mean time what to crown the little one with, a Bug buster ?

Thanks, If the cap screw is to short it will be hard to get my fingers to get a good hold on to tighten or loosen it.
I’m getting the same difference with a 1/4 turn CW using JSB 16g at 800 flat to 830s.
What is your total shot count with JSB 16g @ 820 fps top filled to 250 Bar, and ending at what pressure ?

Nice idea 💡 , I’d shorten that cap screw a thread or two. I’ve noticed on mine it will go from 800 flat to 830s in one 1/4 of a turn CW.
To go tool-less, my latest update on my Shorty.
Stuck with having to carrying an alien key and the HST rods to adjust it in the field with a possibility of loosing them both.
I found some nylon screws and fitted them into the holes in the HST, to lock and hand tighten I used a Hex bolt/nylon insert.

Drop sparrows with my Cricket compact 177 cal out to 75 yards with a 3 mil dot comp for the wind.
The Wicked rifle looks a lot more sturdier built then the Supper Soaker.

Jim makes great stuff. I have been tempted to get another barrel from him for my P-Rod but it shoots so well with the right pellet as-is.
I see Wicked’s new Flex Rifle looks very similar to an Impact.
I use my Lelya on 80 yard starlings. It is tough to hold still but it is fun to hit a 80 yard bird with a little gun.
I found that about 22-24 inches is the shortest I can shoot well at tweetys up to 80 yards. Anything shorter like my pistols is about 50-60 max.

Where to get a CZ or LW 22 cal 15mm OD barrel guys and what/who’s a good smith to use ?

Greg….contact Jim Gaska. He custom machines barrels for airguns. He runs an airgun business, “Wicked Air Rifles” and also handles the Taipan Mutant pcp’s. Before he got into this he was/is a skilled machinist and airgun hobbyist. His work is beyond reproach. He’s made me barrels, guns, mods, replacement parts, etc, etc, over the years…all first class work at good prices!!!
http://marmotmilitia.com/ is his website. I’ve dealt with him for years. Tell him Hoot: sent you and demand your automatic “Hoot” referral discount….
UPDATE: He now makes his own accuracy guaranteed “Hammer Forged Barrels”. He will custom machine your LW barrel blank for $125..LW will drop ship the barrel direct to him so you don’t have to screw with the mailing/shipping. Making his own “accuracy guaranteed” hammer forged barrels…yes, he’s THAT good!!!

The Hammer forged Barrel sounds like a winner Hoot:
Years ago I bought a P-rod transfer port from him.
I email Jim, we’ll see …….. Thanks, Greg

There is a lot of things that I like about the Shorty that I haven’t found on other Airgun BPs.
Not willing to return it with a regulator that’s producing an SD of less then 2.
Just the barrel issues got me out sourcing one to try out on mines.
I do believe it’s harder to shoot well then a standard length, but it can’t/shouldn’t be that much harder.
It’s the first time I’m faced to find a replacement barrel for an Airgun.

Hoot they are very popular bullpups because of their price point…a price point in other parts of the world besides the USA. These are utilitarian bullies, not worth the cost of an EDgun.
Where did you get a 15mm OD LW barrel from ?
~ Greg
I scored them from LW a while back, they are unmachined blanks. I always keep one or two on hand for future projects, I have about four different rigs with them installed and they always perform. These actually shoot better and better as they break in with more pellets down the pipe.
That’s good news Oak, and that always gives me a reason to shoot better. :fishinghole:
What’s in your plans in buying a secondhand Shorty ?

I used up a little air working on the reg, the first time I assembled it with the stock airtube O-rings one leaked out the vent hole. I had to empty it again and put Ernest’s Vitons in, so now I’m low on air and have only been filling to 190 bar till I get my tanks filled again. But since I get over a magazine full of shots @ 820 after it falls off the reg I’m getting more than I really need. Super happy about this shorty because it so much fun to shoot and is putting them in the same hole @ 25-30 yards. :biggrinn:
