Just ordered my first Edgun…say hi to the newb.
Hello Everyone!!!
This is my first post, but I have been reading and enjoying your posts for the last week or so. I just ordered my first Edgun from Tony! I have a .25 R3M Long coming with the next shipment (Nov. that’s all he said). Tony is not the most talkative of fellows, is he? It took me 2 weeks to finally decide what I wanted. I have to say this site has helped me with my decision tremendously. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge with me. I haven’t seen a more loyal and proud family of members towards any other gun, as much as the Edgun….that is what swayed me over.
Well, now that the gun is ordered its time for a scope. Well here goes…. I want a scope with a 5-6 times zoom range that’s great in low light, not too heavy, not too long, parallax adjustments from 10 yards to infinity, great eye relief, great tracking, durable, good warranty, and under $1000 bucks. lol
Well…I really do…but its not gonna happen. I have however narrowed my selection down to 7. A couple are over my budget (as there always will be) and the rest are in range. Can this great forum help me in: #1 selecting the one best for me #2 Put the 7 selections in an order from best choice to worst choice (if there is a worst…they’re all quite good im sure).
Info about me: live in Houston Texas. Lots of places to go and shoot…including back yard, thick wooded areas near subdivisions, short drive to the north, south, east, and west with acres upon acres of undeveloped land. Some of it is open, some is wooded (nice to have friends with acres and acres of land). Lots of plinking, hunting birds, squirrels, rabbits, coons, bobcats, and coyotes, as well as target shooting (outdoors and not at a range). No point in shooting anything under 15 yards…very interested in acquiring the skills to shoot beyond 125 yards. Mostly 25-100 yards. Oh, and I do lots and lots of night shooting. So a good low light scope is B I G ! !
I look forward to all comments from anyone that has something to say…but im also looking for replies from Zocoloco, Knifemaker, Ted, and Oldgoat. Ted….you’re my hero! Mr. EdgunUSA himself…What?!? jk 😆

No,no,no – THE standard of measurement. Understandable. Simple. Usefull – and from modern times !!
What the hell is a measurement like “Foot” ?? Feet come in different sizes – some has bigger,some smaller. Why not call it “Dick” instead ?? “Hey George – how long is that Boat ?” “It´s around three Dicks” .. WTF ??

Thank you Dr. Krill. Can you give me your critique of your Delta? Likes/dislikes and comparisons? How you use it?
Just got a price from George. It will be $912 delivered. The zeiss that is available as demo does not have target turrets nor the reticle I want….so it will have to be new…..$1149 delivered. I found some more pics of the a delta scope….in one pic I saw a parallax adjustment go down to 30 meters and in another photograph I could almost make out 20 meters. This scope has it all. Everything on my wish list. And it weighs in at 26 ounces. Within 2 oz of the lightest I’ve found and up to 10 oz less then the heaviest in its class.
It’s the scandinavian version of the calendar of doom, it shows the end of time…

What is that some weird foreign standard of measurement like metric? 😀 so maybe 60mm? About 2.4″.
Another thing I found on the dealer’s hompage regarding the Delta Optical…

Edgun R3.0 (early one – don’t know the “slant”) UTG mounts and Delta Optical 4.5-30×50.
No problem zeroing it on 50 meters with turrets only. Jsb heavy 18.1gr – 280 mps.

That is the exact problem our dear Uncle has. Now the big H has spread to his brain and thus he sometimes speaks in tonques. A very weird guy so stay clear from him..

As a former MX-pilot my stomach can handle the most. Besides-i quess i’m not the one who needs to do the cleaning up afterwards would i need to hurl in the plane.
I just love the engine tone on those WW II fighter planes at full tilt…

We have some two-seat Mustangs you can get a ride in over here. Its really steep, though, even more than a ride in a recent vintage Russian Mig fighter they sell over there which would also make sick but be fun. Actually, as a 500 hour pilot and knowing my stomach, I really know better than to fly in either one of them. 
Airplanes are a different story still. I would’ve loved to take a spin on an old Mustang, Spitfire or Messerschmidt fighter one day…

Right! Compared to my ex-hobby Motocross racing this is peanuts. I went thru a couple of bikes, ton of spareparts,tires and oils every seaaon. Heck -my tirebudget alone easily buys one a new PCP/scope combo once a year.

Somehow I call a Matador and Delta/Zeiss a bit more than just “getting started”. Heck you didn’t fart around but raced right to the top. As I like to say “Not exactly your grandpa’s Red Ryder”. 😯 I always tell my wife that all of my PCPs don’t even total one new Harley because she knows my good retired friend has two Harleys. Seriously, compared with owning an airplane which I sold this is a real bargain in adult hobbies.

We don’t need no stinkin’ standards. Ok I promised I would convert to metric when NASA did and they finally just did a few years ago. Hey they are rocket scientists. 🙂
