Just ordered my first Edgun…say hi to the newb.

This is my first post, but I have been reading and enjoying your posts for the last week or so. I just ordered my first Edgun from Tony! I have a .25 R3M Long coming with the next shipment (Nov. that’s all he said). Tony is not the most talkative of fellows, is he? It took me 2 weeks to finally decide what I wanted. I have to say this site has helped me with my decision tremendously. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge with me. I haven’t seen a more loyal and proud family of members towards any other gun, as much as the Edgun….that is what swayed me over.
Well, now that the gun is ordered its time for a scope. Well here goes…. I want a scope with a 5-6 times zoom range that’s great in low light, not too heavy, not too long, parallax adjustments from 10 yards to infinity, great eye relief, great tracking, durable, good warranty, and under $1000 bucks. lol
Well…I really do…but its not gonna happen. I have however narrowed my selection down to 7. A couple are over my budget (as there always will be) and the rest are in range. Can this great forum help me in: #1 selecting the one best for me #2 Put the 7 selections in an order from best choice to worst choice (if there is a worst…they’re all quite good im sure).
Info about me: live in Houston Texas. Lots of places to go and shoot…including back yard, thick wooded areas near subdivisions, short drive to the north, south, east, and west with acres upon acres of undeveloped land. Some of it is open, some is wooded (nice to have friends with acres and acres of land). Lots of plinking, hunting birds, squirrels, rabbits, coons, bobcats, and coyotes, as well as target shooting (outdoors and not at a range). No point in shooting anything under 15 yards…very interested in acquiring the skills to shoot beyond 125 yards. Mostly 25-100 yards. Oh, and I do lots and lots of night shooting. So a good low light scope is B I G ! !

True! And i´d follow the FVA lead and opt for Signature Zee´s. Those are of a very low design compared to other makers (ie. Sig. High is mere a Medium) so the extra high´s (more like between conventional med/high) are in order if you don´t have a very weirdly shaped head/neck or your eyes are placed on the height of your nose.
First I used these rings which almost had the ocular on the rail.
Besides not being able to adjust the scope high enough and having to use two mil dot over cross hair hold until I got my Signature rings with the scope so low I had to force my face very uncomfortably hard into the stock to get behind the scope.
You need some height to be comfortable.
There is exactly a 1/4″ between the ocular and rail.
Plenty of space for anti cant bubble and you can see where I put mine.
A Hawke bubble level sure. Many others as well.

My bad. I got a +- MOA rails and those inserts mixed up.
You want the extra highs, at least in 30 mm. I gave a part # earlier in the thread.
The cant is there because when you shoot 100 yards/meters and more you run out of scope adjustment. The built in cant allows you sight on at far ranges without running out of adjustments.
Many find it too much to get sighted in at say 50 yards. So you have to pick the front of the scope up to meet the high impact point At 50 yards to get sighted in or still have a decent amount,or any, adjustment left.
