Looks like all the MAX buyers are back to square one
Looking at the posts over on the Yellow, seems it took all of an hour for the first new Evanix Max user to figure that the recurrent problems with the Speed also plague the new MAX as well. Sad part was that every MAX post couldn’t be done without bashing on the EDgun.
Even when it was pointed out again and again that it was too heavy, had Lego like look, and was totally unproven. It was gonna be the EDgun killer, now they’re all waiting on return labels.
Oh well, says something about buying proven quality and performance and not a bunch of hype. Think I’ll go another round this morning with my EDgun and do some more 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards….yawn.

Now THAT’s a stable shooting platform!
This MRod thing is going to be hard for me to do.
With my shortened lightened 😛 FXRoyale 500/400 back getting a regulator, I wonder what i need a Mrod for.
Probably put Teryx on the market with the S&W slug gun when I get back from vacation about mid June.
My last MIA weighed in at 11 lbs, it was a Supermatch that I had the barrel fluted, to make it lighter 😛 .
I traded it for a Stoner SR25 with a Leupold M8 I think it was. Now that fucker was heavy.
To me 9lbs with a scope is about ideal, like my Ranger 45, but I have carried many a Remington Sendero in assorted calibers around. They get really heavy combined with a elk quarter or two going up a steep grade at 6200 ft in a foot and half of snow.
Which is why I own a Polaris 6×6. It makes it nicer since I have gained weight in old age. 😉

I don’t know what the Yukon weighs, it’s a lot but it’s not enough to keep from getting “scoped” by the recoil! I wimped out, I put the EoTech on it and left it there, now I can’t reliably hit a big game kill zone past 200 yards or so… darn!
RS,
Cant agree with ya more on the weight issue. Only in air gunning have i heard of 8lbs as being heavy. Guess most wont like my Rapid when they hold it. It’s 10lbs+ and i shoulder carry the fucking thing all day when i hunt jacks…lol! I literally walk for miles by end of day.
I recently hunted Ground Squirrels with 2 NEW guys and they both had Benji MRods in 22. I asked them how they liked the guns and the 2 complaints they both had were accuracy and WEIGHT! I said “HEAVY, are you serious”?! You guys should hold my Rapid. Later they did and no longer thought the 22 MROD was HEAVY! And both guys were 6’1″-6’2″ and about 230 which is a little bigger than me.
Everything airgun related has got to be COMPACT (the length of a pencil), SILENT (gnat fart quiet), LIGHT (weight of a toothbrush full of toothpaste. Oh no, wait, toothpaste makes it FRONT HEAVY and unwieldy…lol), ACCURATE (dime sized groups at 300 yards with a diablo pellet), EFFICIENT (300 shots in 25cal off of 3000 psi)
And unfortunately, powder burners are hitting that milestone also. Damn near every gun now has got to be 6.5-7 lbs. And i can’t stand LIGHT PB’s unless its a rimfire. Pushing 162-180 gr bullets at 3200 fps in a 7mm mag or 300 Win Mag rifle that weighs 6.5 lbs is NOT IDEAL.
thought as much Jerry 😆 😆 😆
I get some elderly or disabled folks needing a lighter rifle but there is far too much hand wringing by the broard majority of able bodied men regarding whats too heavy for them
😆 😆 😆
Nah, no problem with recoil, just teasing.
Jerry:
I take it you are one of the sensitive frilly panty wearing crew that can not handle the weight or recoil of M1A, muchless a M1 Garand? 😆 😆 😆
I just get so tired hearing folks complain about weight
guess growing up shooting M1s, G43s and Tokarev semi rifles may have tainted my expectations regarding acceptable weight and recoil
you can trust me if I have issues I will be every bit as hard on the MAX as I am on the early Marauders…I don’t pick on the current Marauders, own a couple but my 1st of 100 was pure Trash
I do be loving my .25 R3 long
RC,
I noted your soon to be Crossman desire last night. I fought off the urge to post sarcasm in the for sale section. It would actually be pretty cool to see a great Marauder in that stock!
RS,
Good luck with your Max. BTW, nobody is going to google your last post, it’s clearly your gibberish…
well not exactly the first…think that was like the third reported received and the first with problems which seem to be purely related to the magazines.
Mine is due in tomorow so we will see
attempts to compare the two bullpups seem a bit assine in my opinion
totally different tools.
I tend to think what is going on here is that the magazine cycle speed is not matched to the speed of the motor driven bolt and of course the heavier the pellet, the more the rotational mass thus the slower the cycle of the magazine.
At a 400RPM ROF this can become a Serious issue.
Both my FX Monsoon and Revolution have experienced similar failures to feed with second hand magazines that were set up for repeaters and had not been wound the extra turn for the semi auto actions.
as far as weight goes it never ceases to amaze me how candy assed todays shooters have became…eight pounds is nothing, try humping a 12 pound .50-90 Rolling block in the northwoods underbrush all day long.
Shit it seems most Airgunners would not have made it a full day with a ten pound M1 Garand during WWII or Korea
a M14 with a loaded 20rd mag is just under 12 pounds
FALs are about the same as are HK G3s. Thompson SMg are over 10 pounds UNLOADED…I can go on and on in this regard
I mean for fucks sake, a fully loaded M4 Carbine with all the bells and whistles can quickly hit 12 pounds with a rail, optics and other gizmos add a few more with a 40mm 203 slung underneath it
Loaded my old Ithica Mag 10 was well over 12 pounds
I mean what is it about Air Gunners that brings out such a degree of general physical weakness?
Ohhhhhhh, it’s Eight pounds Wahhhhhh…Yea Gawds guys Man up and grow a pair…Sheesh
it’s as bad as listening to folks whine about Big Bore AGs “recoil”
of course there are asshats all over the web that are concerned about the recoil of a damn AR in .223 🙄
even pathetic .22 rimfires!
The look isn’t everyones cup of tea, then again I think my FX500 is just as hidious but neither is as bad as the USFT or some of Barnes creations…beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I regard the Edguns as works of art in form follows function…the MAX is just big and fugly
Yep, it is an unproven concept…this melding of AEG airsoft with pnematics, could end up an epic fail but at least in my opinion this is 99% magazine related which should be able to be easily addressed with a heavier spring loading of the magazine
nope, they shouldn’t have been shipped flawed but this happens all the time with new systems and designs whether it’s an air rifle, a firearm, cars, motorcycles…even new CPUs and software
You will note I have not been a MAX fan boi on the Yellow
I remain cynical regarding long term reliability, moreover the ability of the average shooter or even tuner to be able to service these rifles.
Just a totally different animal, you need some background in high end AEG airsofts before you even come close to being competent enough to play with one.
That in itself will lead to more issues as most all of us can’t leave good enough alone and this isn’t a simple mechanical gun like a single shot Edgun or even a FX semi auto 😉
So many times I heard that term for past years 🙂 now I am just smiling…
Speaking of which Jerry, I see Rogues are $1295.00 at Airgun Depoe.
If your into Powder Burners, this is the gn to get. 😆
Here I have been bad mouthing the MRods and now I have a Teryx stock coming.
What will I low will I stoop to next, oops gota go there is a Jehovha Witneess at the door gota join.
Regards,
Raochcreek
Wait! Are you bored with consistent and dependable accuracy too? Maybe it’s time to get a super expensive project gun? 😉

Jerry,
Makes it easier for pushups and sex too, I just rock back and forth on my belly.
Trouble is if you look closer in the pictures it has permantently bent my wifes legs.
