Q:

Meet the Taipan Mutant….(updated)

.22 cal multi shot.

Heres the whole family…. :8: :8: :8:
yeh the baby is only 22.75″ long….

These don’t discriminate… left or right. Just flip the linkage over and away you go. (this is a pic of the Taipan 2 but they are basically the same, Predesessor of the mutant)

Pretty sweet trigger if i might add…

I will have more info to follow in the coming days…. I figure i would at least throw some pics up …. and get this ball rolling.

They made in Ukraine…..

and now they are available in the US…..

The manufacture claims….

60 shots at 34 FPE…. 250 bar fill .22 cal.

They use CZ barrels…

also avail in .17 cal.

I filled one up tonight to 200 bar and loaded a magazine with jsb 18’s …. it shot 943-947 the whole 12 shots

These come with a soft case. 2 12 round mags.( they fit the Pred’s and other long pellets) a single shot tray, fill probe, orings and tools to adjust the Hammer spring. and to remove the baffles from the shroud….

Tommarow i will take some more pictures and start shooting these…

This has come up…..

The stock Is ash. They went with this because a lot of guys like custom stocks a d this was to keep cost down and invest more into the metal and the performance of the gun.

I can’t say a whole lot r but there is stuff in the works

When does it become available?

The Guns are being assembled. shorty’s and standards in .22 cal. This will be the first shipment coming out of Ukraine. We had a lot of logistics issues to resolve before being able to commit. There is a war going on over there and these are considered firearms in Ukraine. hopefully in the coming weeks i will have a better time frame and can give a solid answer as to when they will be here.

After this initial shipment the supply train will move a lot quicker.

Just waiting on word from the manufacture right now.

Looks great, much better than the original finish which I think is kinda plain.
I agree with others opinion that a nice walnut stock would greatly increase sales.

Nice job. What kind of wood is that? It seems to have potential with more grain to it. I really like the black grip and finish on my Maddog stock.

Didn’t like The stock finish and feel, so I done this, but was planning on stripping all the black finish–while sanding the flat surface I kinda love the look of the black combo so kept it a that but sprayed rubber coating on the black area–now its more appealing to me, while sanding I rounded off the forearm, and sharp curb on the trigger guard, deepen the finger groove and shape the rear bottom of stock. now just have to fit the adjustable butt pad. I didn’t think the wood was this nice, now I’m glad I done what I DID!

Can jamie of ernest confirm what the valve stem on the mutant is made of… Plastic or metal
I see the taipan 2 has a plastic one

I can’t tell you that….but.. Ernest may be able too. I think he has taken his apart .

Mine is shooting so well I haven’t messed with it. Since I adjusted the regulator …

If I degassed it for some reason I’ll take a peak.

here you go, easy to make even!

delrine crack or break inside the casing so no advantage, but i do see more shot count on the lighter VS

grats with Taipan seems very promising rifle … do you have any details of barrel ? i know its CZ ” thickness?? , choke groove??”

The availability of a nice walnut stock would really push it over the top of anything else. 😛

Sounds like the best bullpub currently out there.

Still wanting to read some reviews and feedbacks but it is definitely on my wishlist!

Thanks Ernest!

Been tuning Edguns and Cricket for awhile now, so many of them that I lost track–that said I get to know the positive and negative of each one.

Two things I can say:

1: All the negative things I know about the edgun and crickets you don’t see on the Mutant.

2: All the positive things I see on the Mutant I don’t see them on the edguns or crickets

But owning an AG is like marrying a woman, you deal with the hidden flaws after the marriage but easier to dump!

Thank you Ernest. My thoughts were related to the first impression. It was really bad. Other thing is that the robustness of the design was the thing which brought me to Taipan.

Regarding the schema – yes, it is a little outdated because it describes Taipan 2 rather than Taipan Mutant.

Good Imformative post ernest thanks. 😉
