more ACCURACY issues please help!!!
So I was finally able to get to the range again today at 100 and 50 yards.my accuracy with bags is less then I would expect from a 1700 dollar rifle 2300 dollar system. The rifle has over1400 rounds threw it and it has been tuned by me as some of you know. Just yesterday I reconfirmed my fps here is my results. not only is my accuracy not as good as i thought it would be but the shrould changes the poa by 2 1/2 inches at 100 yards it is not hit, i think it is either due to weight or harmonics of the barrel. i free floated the airtube before also so airtube changes should not be and issue. could my accuracy issues be due to the wrong fps for my gun? could i send my rifle back after this long of having it? should i send it back? i am at a loss with this rifle! i spent just about everything i got to own one and it does nothing that people claim they do!!!!! this gun has brought me more stress then three kids have ever, because at least i can spank children! can’t spank the cricket! well it wouldn’t do me any good!

Okay,
The reason for Free Floating or Loosening the stock bolt(s) is to help minimize POI shifting for those that are not familiar with the practice. As the AT depressurizes from shooting down from a top fill the AT shrinks and contorque with the frame that also holds the barrel and scope rail, this can cause POI shifting to some degree.
If you have Free Floated the AT I just tighten the Stock bolt(s) just firmly and not so tight that your knuckle turn white.
My reason is that before I Free Floated the AT I notice that towards the end of tighten it up the stock bolt had a lot of resistance before the stock finally made full contact with the action.
After Free Floating the AT I notice this was no longer the case and the tightening of the bolt was smooth all the way.
So, the stock must have been binding on the AT prior to the Free Floating.
Before loosening the stock screw by 1/8-1/4 turn CCW would relieve any pressure if any on the AT that made contact with the stock.
So backing out the stock bolt would relieve/minimize this effect, but not as well as Free Floating it in my opinion.
But in the same token if you’re already getting good results with the stock bolt de-tensioning you might think of being happy and satisfy with that. :winkn:
