Q:

Mouning Scope on Cricket

I got 25 back from repair. Stupid lay gun on side where side lever rubs on plate and dinged it up. Non the less long story short gun is 4 mils low and one mil left when scope is optically zeroed at 25 yards. I have burris with inserts and will try to get it back as close as possible. I tried differant mounts too and they are spot on with the burris with the Zero inserts on rings. I took more care this time to have scope optically centered and it bothers me why its out that much. Is it normal? BTW gun shoots one holers at 25 yards with AA pellets for a whole clip. I am real happy with that because AoA had a 20 yard 5 shot group that was far from one holer. To make matters worse i lost the instruction sheet for the burris mounts so i guess i will have to find some on internet.

Them sports match look nice. I have a set for the 11mm dove and they work great.

Too bad they aren’t any in the USA..

I have had some issues with my Cricket and mounting scopes. I zeroed at 20yds and I run out of elevation using typical UTG mounts. I use those Burris Z rings but what gets me is the shims are only +/-10 for the 30mm tubes. They have a lot more shims if you get the 1″ rings but since I have Hawkes that doesn’t help me. On the back scope ring I go +10 on the top half and -10 on the bottom half and the front ring I use a 0 on bottom half and I think a +10 as well, I forget exactly but I experimented with the best combo that still allotted me the most elevation clicks in both directions.

These would work too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPORTSMATCH-ATP72-30mm-Adjustable-Weaver-Picatinny-Scope-Mounts-/290804222276

But I don’t think they have enough height if you use the cheek piece for the Cricket. I have the extra high Burris rings and I am just barely able to get a good sight picture with a decent cheek weld.

There are also a few more here http://www.hawkeoptics.com/hawke-adapters-bases.html

AOA has them under Hawke Scopes. Accessories. $21.99.

That thing looks awesome, but I went to Hawke’s website and it isn’t on there, when I do a google search I cannot find it. Maybe I will search a little harder and could possibily find someone who has one in old stock. Do you have a part number by any chance?

I use hawke adjustible mount with droop compensater on it so it tilts the scope slightly like the edgun rail u can see the slight tilt on it

This is a great topic and I don’t mean to thread jack. I was just searching yesterday for this exact topic. What rings are everyone using for the cricket? Also, if you are shooting longer ranges are you shimming the scope as well? I think I will be using the Hawke Sidewinder tactical 30 6.5-20 x 42 and want to take advantage of the longer ranges that the cricket is able to and just want some input on others setup.

Hello eelect, just read your post and I think this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcRAX5OLtJE will help you set up your scope with those Burris rings.

Best of luck, Mike
