Mrodair Compressor Guinea Pig
Hello, a newbie to PCP’s here.
I put in a pre-order for the upcoming Mrodair “Airmax” compressor
Thus, far just an automated acknowledgment receipt from Yahoo and haven’t heard anything more re ETA.
Yep, guinea pig ordering a new product. Hopefully it works out.

I don’t take apart a perfectly working Japanese motor either. I wait till something is wrong because. It’s hard to find someone that takes pride in there work and what they do anymore. Just out to make a buck. I spend more time fixing/replacing things that are made in US that just fail.
I see there are only a few out and already having issues with amp draw. It’s the cheap Chinese motors drawing way more power then they should.
According to my wife, I’m the problem. Lol I already broke the electrical power switch I already feel jinxed Dyotat100.
When it comes to cars I only work on my own stuff.
I thought you were having problems already.

I don’t know about you but when I buy some thing that doesn’t come with a parts manual. I tear it down and get real familiar with it. Why would someone tear a brand new motor apart and put American made pistons, rings and rods in. Why do Americans always work on making any thing they buy better? Because we/I can.
Why would you have to work on a brand new compressor you just bought?
So far it’s pretty damn easy to work on. Reed valve locating pins suck. I’ll be replacing them after I get them made up. I noticed the desiccant was soaking full of moisture. Replaced all that with what was left over from filling my hill pump thingie.
Tearing the high side apart today after it warms up in the garage.
I have a 220V outlet in the garage that I don’t use. A 220V version would of been better for me.
Worked fine for me… Make sure you don’t have anything else on that circuit and you should be fine. It’s your breakers the GFCI type? That might explain the tripping.
Ive sent stuff all over the world… no issues and i Find it the Cheapest. Usually sending it priority and it arrives in a decent time.
I do know it is cheaper to do it online than go to the PO. But on another note. In order for me to ship just regular… not priority i have to go to the PO for some reason. I don’t know why . and its stupid . so everything goes priority now :biggrinn:
Prices just went up and no discount now for online unless you open a business pro account or something like that. Went from $5.25 to $6.80 for small flat rate. I spent hour on hold.to find out what happened.
I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to have the same issue. Should have never been switched from 240 v unit.
Compressor keeps tripping my 120V 20A circuit breaker. I didn’t figure in the added cost of getting an Electrician installing new wiring and receptacle.

I do this too, and if you put the recipient’s email address in they will automatically receive the tracking information. How much easier can it be?
I use USPS click and ship basically for Everything myself….

I use USPS flat rate boxes and as soon as it is scanned at PO you see where it goes.
Fedex would have been a better choice and cheaper. Anytime I can’t fit it in a flat rate box it is way cheaper to ship fedex. The insurance is way expensive with usps.
USPS doesn’t normally get any shipment information entered until after the package is delivered anyway. Regards, Tom
Thanks for the info regarding shipping company, etc.
I can confirm that the shipping company used is indeed the USPS.
I had to write Michael to get a tracking number and was puzzled why it was so hard to get that sent out when the compressors shipped.
I was even more perplexed when he asked for my zip code. It wasn’t until after I got a picture of the shipping receipt with my
tracking numbers that I understood why the usual & customary shipment notice & tracking number e-mail we typically receive
from other e-commerce retailers was not sent to us customer the day of shipment.
The receipt was part of a long strip much as one would get from the grocery store. It probably had all the shipments sent out that day all printed
out as a single, long list by the USPS. That USPS generated list only identifies each shipment by destination city and zip code. No address. No name.
So, there was the answer.
It was NOT in electronic form. There isn’t an easy way for MrodAir to match up the entries on the shipping receipt with our actual shipping address.
He had to manually scan through god knows how many entries to find the ones that matched my zip code – total PITB process.
After an exhausting day prepping, testing and packaging, I wouldn’t want to do it either.
imagine trying to match up each of these poorly identified entries and entering the 22 digit tracking code into a shipping notice
for each customer. Now I understand why what we normally expect to be a seamless, automated notification didn’t happen.
I did convey my thanks for the tracking number and that it will save me several useless days of having someone at the house waiting for the shipment.
Michael is aware that this is a problem with their lowest shipping cost strategy.
Personally, it would be worth a bit more shipping cost to get timely shipping notification and tracking numbers from an automated shipment system.
It would save me time and angst.

So do I.
I was going to build my 3.4 motor before I built a turbo setup for it. I couldn’t find anyone I could trust to do the machine work so I left it stock inside. Find it hard to find anybody that takes pride in what they do.
