Q:

New R3 .25…..damaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I literally received my R3 .25 just 5 minutes ago from UPS, but there’s some very serious problems.

1. The case zipper is completely cut through on each side.

2. But, wait a minute. Holy cow!!!! The walnut stock is completely cracked. If I pull on it with the sightless effort, I’m sure that whole piece would fall off.

I can understand damage can occur during transport, but there’s no visible damage to the containing box. I can’t believe I waited 9 months and paid $2050.00 for this.

Tony – I sent you a mail. Please advise.

Finally saw the pictures , that crack is not that bad IMO. I thought it was worse when I offered to buy it from you. You should be able to fix that, and if you don’t feel comfortable doing so take synopsis up on his offer to fix it for you . Worst case , if you still see the crack and it bothers you go old school edgun and lay down some bedliner on that badboy. I know it sucks but look on the bright side, you are one of the elite who has an edgun!

That’s the TAG way! πŸ˜›

Synopsys,

it’s very nice of you to offer something like that…. only TAG member can do that……… love it…… Big Family……. πŸ˜›

HYFKMM!

Judging from the photos and the fact the box was undamaged I bet it was dropped flat on one end from a good height.

I’d make sure the rifle operates properly and if it does, fix the stock and forget about the claim.

When I first read the post I thought the stock was cracked along the entire length closer to the middle.

Shit, if you ship me the stock ONLY i’ll fix it up close to as good as new free of charge and right away. A little wood glue or epoxy and you might not even be able to tell. Worst case scenario (if the repair required some sanding) a partial or full refinish would be in order. Still only an over night job with the refinish, the gluing would only take a few minutes, the refinishing would take most of the time if it was needed. I’m in northern Cali.

Why would I do it? Because it’s the TAG and we help out our fellow air gunners! πŸ˜‰

Here is an example of helping out for just about nothing, it’s an inlet I did for a fellow TAG member. http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23074&sid=9257b7308a8441d51f65319b237ba71f

Actually, that kind of wood fracture can be repaired by a decent woodworker to where it wouldn’t show, and probably be stronger than it originally was.

The zipper can be sewn back together with a simple needle and thread. I’ve done that myself. Just be sure the zipper is properly inserted before sewing the two pieces back together. Definitely look like a razor cut…to clean and even to be anything else.

I know that’s not what you expected, or want, but if everything goes sour on this, rest assured that you can be made whole with a bit of craftsmanship.

The question is whether you want a quick fix, or go the reimbursement route. The important ending is you can be put back in order without a great deal of expense. I’d check a couple of local furniture shops, and ask who does their repairs.

Just a suggestion that might help you make some decisions in the short or the long run.

Mine showed up moments before I got home so I didn’t get to inspect while the driver was there. Heartbroken at first as the box is crushed on one end. The contents however appear to be in perfect shape. More later when I get time to check it out.

What?…… no adult signature required for delivery high-end Airgun ???????

it doesn’t seen right (I guess), that’s mean I will be home and waiting for my Edgun……. since it’ll delivery at the end of Monday….. that’s time a lot of young kids around my area

By “End of day” does not always mean at the end of the day.

Even ground shipping is gauranteed, it is gauranteed by the end of the day.

So, if your local driver is in your area at 11am, then expect your normal delivery time. If it is 6pm, then so be it..

Ta….PM me your physical address tonight, and the hours you work and generally arrive at home. Is there parking in front of where you live? Just stop and go type of parking…no long term.

EDIT: Cancel my request Ta, I just checked a map and Ca stands for California. I thought it was closer…like Little Rock.

Since a signature was not required for delivery, the UPS man just left the package on the front door step. Actually, i left work early just to get the package and he didn’t even bother ringing the doorbell.

Oldgoat,

It’s a good idea. I will do the same when my package arrive on Monday

Thank you for a good tips…. Oldgoat, Sir

I saw Samurai’s topic and I had the UPS guy wait until I inspected my gun but, I always make him wait anyhow! The driver is a good guy and likes the looks of my Edguns!

The outside of my box was pretty rough, it looked like it had been dropped on end from a height. The gun was just fine.
