Parrots you’re going to have to just go for it. Ed’s employees must be required to workout with him because every screw on the EDgun is put on with some serious torque.

I don’t think you know your left from your right Larry 🙂 Prove it with a video. Here’s mine.

Thank you for the video. This is the direction I have been trying to turn it.

Thank you to everyone else also I will give it another go tomorow.

Lol what the hell is going on.. Busy busy day as you can see just trying to help to. Glad the video straighten it out. I should have explain in the video where my 12 o’clock was. I think that’s where it got confusing.

Brother Donny, I understand your confusion at last. Nice video, while it’s true you were using your right hand, you were turning the baffle to the left. Their is a video link in my post above. No worries, just trying to help Parrots.

So…we agree the bird is turning his shroud the wrong way (Clock-Wise 12 O clock to 3 O clock) when he should be turning it the opposite directdion (Counter Clock-Wise 12 O clock to 9 O clock)…

Again, face the muzzle and turn the shroud LEFT, towards your left hand…and it should “snap” loose…when it breaks loose it will turn freely very quickly!

Don’t be afraid to put some muscle behind this…it’s going to take brute force to get those threads unlocked…especially if you have been tightening them by mistake when trying to remove the shroud earlier.

Let confusion reign. The barrel nut on my Matador has right handed threads. Donny your leg lock, full nelson, technique my require a diagram or cave painting pictograph. From the OP’s description I think he is tightening the barrel nut. Then again?

I have it off right now.. It is reverse for this so righty loosey, left tighty (barrel pointing to the right laying down)

:hoot:

Horseshit!!! (I think!)

I don’t remember that shroud coming off backwards!!!

Hoot:

Good to know because I would have been turning in the wrong direction.

You may be turning the shroud the wrong way! “Lefty Lucy…Righty Tighty” is the old saying. You should be turning the shroud the OTHER WAY…from 12 o clock to 9 o clock to remove it.

Someone correct me here if I’m wrong, but I believe this is the problem you are having. A sharp twist the opposite direction will be counter-clock wise and off it should come!

Hoot:

That’s what I was thinking. From what he posted looks like he might be turning in the wrong direction.

Hi Hoot

The tube was easy enough to get off for me and it’s the not I am having trouble with. I am twisting downwards towards 3 o clock from 12 with the barrel pointing towards my right and no lunch so far.

I have also had someone insert a rod through the baffles and pull on it while I try to twist and still no luck.

I believe I see the problem….a little help here from the rest of you guys.

Sounds like something I did years ago with an old girlfriend after we had to much tequila. I sure miss that girl. Just saying…..

This is how I did it and most will probably cringe but it worked for me. I laid the gun on a bed with the barrel pointing to the right. Put the wrench around the OEM moderator nut at the 12 o’clock position. Put a pillow on top of the gun leaving a little of the scope tower exposed. Placed my right knee on the stock handle. My left palm pushing down on the scope tower. Take a deep breath and crank the wrench down to the 6 o’clock position. The first time is a bitch but after that, it comes off easily.
