OIL,OIL, TOIL and trouble
This oil spill in the gulf has been going on for about one month now.
This is going to reach catastropic proportions if it hasnt already .
I thought some of the guys on here could put thier evil genius 😈 to good use .
does anyone have any good or bad ideas that they think might slow down or stop this ??
Im no engineer , but first I would remove BP and and anyone else involved from the picture .
As they have a certain amount of time money and may pose a conflict of interest in getting this done quickly.
I dunno, if thats true or not , but lets start new .
Ok My idea , (maybe it wouldnt work , I dunno ) would be to dump 30 or 40 cargo ships full of gravel and 1 ton blocks of stone . just keep dumping till it stops .
In an attempt to smother it . then apply some some type of concrete to seal it .
re drill (I know) next to it, or tap it . to remove pressure .
Im no engineer man , just shooting it out there to you evil geniuses who might be able to springboard off that . I know some of you fucks are clever enough to get it done
whats your ideas ? Cause BP doesnt have any .

There are 42 gallons per oil barrel. This means that the Riser spill is 4.2 barrels per second (Rounded to 4)
Now throw the critics a 2 – 1 error factor and cut the number to 2 barrels per second. Then cut the BOP down to equal and exclude the obvious other leaks going on. We still have 4 barrels per second. That comes out just about 350,000 barrels of oil per day. That is a low ball estimate for this blowout.

Time indeed… The one think we can learn from all of this is that after
watching the Katrina debacle we can see that the leaders of our country are
just not qualified to handle disaster…. I surely hope we are never faced with
an evasion attempt… We will find the leaders hunkered down in bunkers
trying to find someone to blame while “We The People” defend the country
alone…. Our founding fathers would be outraged with what this country has
become.

Oh I am pretty sure the legalities were opened up at virtually the second it
blew…. You may as well sit back and embrace the blackness.. It is
going to be here for a while and it is on it’s way to a beach near you……. The
Gulf Coast will get an economy boost paid for by BP “IF” Obama holds their
feet to the fire… If not, then yea the Gulf Coast will die a very slow and
painful economic death…. Tuesday will be the next test to see if they can
plug the leak….
Oh yea, buy stock in Crawfish futures.. That will be the only seafood coming
out of the Gulf Coast States in the near future….
opening up the legalities of this isnt important right now .
the issue is to fix it , and fix now , figure out the rest later.
ie: stop the bleeding first.
There is a whole ecomonic “”ecosystem”” that depends on the gulf for sustainment. People will be out of jobs when the fishing boats comeback empty. the hotels sit empty , the boating industry sits idle ect .

Say we did this to China and just let it dump oil directly into their primary fishing areas… In my book letting it go and doing more to cover the disaster than fix it is an act of war… If my neighbor was a billionaire let his sewer run wild and flood everything and then it contaminates my drinking water and kill my fish and makes it so I have to buy water and buy things I had planned on growing or harvesting, i’d fuck him up in court until he was living under a bridge. 👿
This is a perfect example of just how fucked up the system has become and the people in charge are SO participating in the cashfest that they can’t do anything but cover their tracks… And to think the SCOTUS just made it so the corps can give them more $$… Amazing, it suddenly becomes clear why they want to take all the weapons away…

I didn’t say it wasn’t our business, I am just saying that the US has no
jurisdiction over the Gulf of Mexico… The US can not tell them what to do
or how to do it. The US doesn’t have a clue what to do or how to do it
anyway so it is a lost cause either way… The sad thing is that if it did
happen to China, the US would have already sent millions in cash and
thousands of people to help with the cleanup… All of the “Celebrities”
would be having fund raisers and jumping on the band wagon to make
themselves look like humanitarians…. Haven’t heard of anyone from the
US offering to help yet. They just stand there pointing saying “BP did it,
let them clean it up”. while hard working Americans watch their
livelihoods vanish…. The US Government and big business is the biggest
WMD there is… I am really surprised no one has waged war against us
yet… There are plenty of reasons for sure….

synopsys I think what we are all missing is that this did not happen on US
soil. This is no more a US responsibility than it is a Cuban responsibility…
This is Offshore Maritime stuff and the US really has no control over what BP
does or doesn’t do. Having said that, you are right about everything else you
stated…. Our politicians are blithering idiots and our country is as out of
control as the oil well…. No one has come up with fixes for either one… In
my mind it is all hopeless and not worth my time and effort….
And where is our President who claims he is for the environment?
Fucking Bush’s response to Katrina was more swift and decisive and that was a total joke. The implications of this are far more environmentally reaching and “clean up the world chosen boy” is nowhere to be seen. Or as that one radio host guy said “The long legged macdaddy.”
BP may look like the keystone cops but our government is looking like it doesn’t even care… 😯
If we said, anyone who can come up and pay for a fix get’s a cut of the oil field, this thing would have been fixed three weeks ago. If the environmentalists were worth their salt we would see prices for the heads of the BP execs and the people in Washington who let this happen. And as a nice by product we would NEVER see a spill again.

Tach , I watched one of thier videos on You tube , and they mentioned they could close it off as a “”LAST RESORT”” with some kind of hydro quick cement .
I think the option of last resort came and went 3 weeks ago.
You know the thing is ,but I have no way to to know this, is; I bet they have a string of tankers out there right now, sucking up as much as they could , to help finance the comming fines , and clean up .
To them, its literally cash just floating around .

multiple crimps sound like a plan.
I work in the Refining business, 33 years. I’ve been following this disaster since day one. They had a internet suggestion site open for ideas on how to stop it. I wrote several letters about crimping the riser off using a LaBounty shear head lowered down and maneuvered into place by the subs. It would take 5k feet of hydraulic hose, shear head to crimp 20″ pipe and the cable to lower it. These crimpers come in a variety of sizes and ratings. Some are designed to cut 7″ of solid bar in half ! I’ve seen them in action on large diameter pipe.
So a series of crimps would of stopped that flow days ago. I put that suggestion in @ three weeks ago. All they said in response was they would review it.

Triggerman, some of those prisoners are indeed predators of mankind, however, some of those prisoners are family men, some of them for cheating on their taxes, some are marijuana patients who were imprisoned for obeying state law and the feds objected, and some of them are airgunners who had silencers. Most of them just made mistakes at some point in their lives, many are on this forum you pious prick.

The time to get something done was about 2 weeks before the blowout…
There were procedures that were not followed and repairs that weren’t done.
Once it blew there was no way to move fast enough… 11 guys found that out
the hard way… I can only imagine that it was the guys on the rig floor and
possibly the derrick hand…. When you are up on the Super Structure and
something happens there is no where to run….
