OIL,OIL, TOIL and trouble
This oil spill in the gulf has been going on for about one month now.
This is going to reach catastropic proportions if it hasnt already .
I thought some of the guys on here could put thier evil genius 😈 to good use .
does anyone have any good or bad ideas that they think might slow down or stop this ??
Im no engineer , but first I would remove BP and and anyone else involved from the picture .
As they have a certain amount of time money and may pose a conflict of interest in getting this done quickly.
I dunno, if thats true or not , but lets start new .
Ok My idea , (maybe it wouldnt work , I dunno ) would be to dump 30 or 40 cargo ships full of gravel and 1 ton blocks of stone . just keep dumping till it stops .
In an attempt to smother it . then apply some some type of concrete to seal it .
re drill (I know) next to it, or tap it . to remove pressure .
Im no engineer man , just shooting it out there to you evil geniuses who might be able to springboard off that . I know some of you fucks are clever enough to get it done
whats your ideas ? Cause BP doesnt have any .
waiting till the well runs dry (literaly) isnt an option .

The well would blow the debris away as fast as you could dump it. Think
about dumping sand on top of a running water hose… You
would end up with something that looked like a volcano crater.. The
pressure and volume would push the oil and gas right through the stuff
even if you could get any debris to actually sit on top of the pipe…
Laying a large beam might work if the bottom of the gulf were flat and
rock hard… I don’t think either of those are the case…. It would most
likely just push the riser down into the floor of the Gulf and reduce the
ability to access the riser but it would not stop the leak… You really don’t
want to damage the BOP or riser… That is the only access you have into
the well to be able to try different things later…
Trying to drop something on top of the pipe to pinch it off could rip the
riser pipe off of the BOP, or risk breaking the BOP off of the well.. Those
are not things you want to happen….
If this well were on land, it would have been shut in by now but, this is
the first ever blowout in 1 mile deep water… No one has a solution due to
the fact that no one has any experience with sealing in a well with a BOP
that does not work… If it were on land, they would remove the riser and
place another BOP on top of the existing BOP and close the BOP valves…
Done deal… There is no way to get the riser off when it is a mile under
the Gulf and bent over covering the bolts that hold it on…
And as far as the government… They have no clue what to do with this
well… They even said so… They asked the question, If we move BP out
of the way, who will have more experience with oil wells that can solve
the problem? Even though BP has not figured out how to stop the leak,
no one has come up with a better idea as of yet either…
Face it, this might be an impossible problem to solve….. We can’t just
wish everything away or pay it to go away like the government has done
in the past…
can’t…
Are you saying that they coudnt bury it ??
I find that extremely hard to belive .
a couple of million tons of block and debris would be childs play for those cargo ships .
One M1 abrams weighs 60 tons and they can carry them over by the hundred .
it has 170,000 psi at the mouth 5 or ten feet away it has probably dropped a third .
even laying a barge large I beams across the pipe which could be easyily lowerd by several ships . then appy enough weight to pinch off the flow
its a matter of tonnage . It can be done.
what they want is a way to stop the oil and turn it back on . a way to shut it off .
that may not be possible , or very difficult. but these guys are not going to bury it after all the time and money they spent , and just walk away from cash thats spewing from the hole.
Not gonna happen.
unless the goverment steps in which they wont.
I understand your not defending them
were just looking at the problem different . ,it ‘s kool.
It just takes a long time to get these things out there… No one was
expecting the worse catastrophe since human existence so equipment
was not exactly at the ready…. And no, I am not defending BP by any
means….
Yes, if they had done the necessary repairs to the BOP prior to the
blowout, it would have been shut in in a matter of minutes with no spill
what so ever…
This is an unprecedented disaster and anything is possible at this point…
On the up side, it could get shut off Wednesday and on the down side, we
could have to learn to live with it spewing for years to come with hopes
that it never collapses in on itself…. I really don’t think anyone
understands how bad it can get… Here is what happens when a well
equalizes and sucks up everything above it…..
can’t…
If this “new” method has a 70% chance wouldn’t they have tried it already (why wait 30+ days after it blew)…
I bet they actually said “If the BOP is operating properly…”
Which it isn’t or it would have shut itself off, right?
Sounds like it’s so fucked they are going to do what “should work” and more than likely fuck the whole thing up…
Took 6+ months to drill the relief holes in the Mexico rig explosion of 1979… Even if the leak is pushing out lowly estimate of 50,000bbl/day that’s the entire Mexico spill every 60 days…
😯
The only reason that they have not shut in the well yet is because they
can’t… They do not have the technology to stop it other than drilling
relief wells as has been done time and time again on land…. I hear that they
are in the process of drilling relief wells but it just takes a hell of a long time
to get that done…The riser that is connected to the BOP has holes in it all
along its length and an ever increasing crack opening right on top of the BOP
where it is bent over…. Squeezing the pipe closed might slow it down but
would likely just bust another hole in a weak spot on the riser… That riser
has taken a hell of a beating and it is not shape to handle any pressure….
Sounds like a good idea though..
Both of you guys are makeing way to much sense .
My impression is thay dont want to shut it off , probably because, like you said they wont have rights or access to the well which they most likely spent a small fortune to get going.
I still think they can pinch that pipe off thats laying sideways on the floor . Its just a simple matter of tonnage
Again, this , and the fact they are takeing oil from the leak , make me think that , they dont want to shut it down until they pump X amount oil to pay for the clean up .
Either that or there is more to it than meets the eye , if the US gov shuts them down and takes over then they are responsible for prosecuting anything BP has done/did/doing that they can no longer hide . which could lead to some very high places that would rather not be mentioned .
Who knows? One thing I am certain of , is that they can shut this thing down. The effort just isnt there. but a lot of wealthy powerfull will get fucked if they do.
They should be dropping C 130 ‘s full of hay , day and night , ships skimming the hay dropping more hay .before a storm hits this shit .
Im sure farmers throughout the country could donate so much hay and the rest could be bought for pennies , we could get more from Canada Mexico south America . We could ship truck, and fly hay all over N America.
So much oil could be burned, so much can be filtered , so much can skimmed . so much can be chemically dispersed Its a multi pronged approach , no one way will do it alone
shit we could beat thing If they start doing something . Christ every things about the fucking money .
Wait till the livelihood of the people of gulf states takes a giant shit.
I bet you are right about us getting to “0” first.lol…. And I think you are right
about this fix possibly making it worst…. If they plug it up all of the sudden it
could conceivably blow the BOP completely off and then there is nothing left
but the relief wells to count on…. Or it could fracture well bore and make it
impossible to form a column of mud on top of the bore as it would just flow
into the cavernous formation..
I bet we make it to 0 on the countdown before the oil well is plugged…
As soon as they cap it they will lose the right to drill in that area I bet, if I were in charge i’d get them the hell out of there. Even though they have a couple relief wells going I hope our government takes over the operation and gives it to a slightly more competent group to do it right and fix the mess. But thats hoping our government isn’t as greedy and crooked as the oil companies… Shit, it was such a good plan…
They claim a 60-70% chance it will work and yet the “Fail safe” that was supposed to close if any problems were encountered (100% chance of working) didn’t work at all…
So if something that was supposed to work 100% of the time work in reality 0% of the time, then something that has a 70% chance means it has the truth adjusted chance of working at -30%.
So by those maths the “fix” has a 30% chance of making the leak WORSE…
How about this, Mr Plumber comes to your house to install a new sink. Everything looks good until he goes to attach the water. An hour later after he failed to shut off the water before cutting the water line your standing in 3′ of water, everything you own in the basement is floating.
Do you let the retard keep working and fuck more shit up or do you get another plumber in there that has a better chance of making it better?
We are letting the retarded plumber fix the problem he created while reading false promises off a teleprompter. The POTUS is so confided in the people he picked he has to read their names off the screen in front of him… YHGTBKM (you have got to be kidding me)….! Did someone get caught with their hand in the cookie jar or what? 😯
It’s going to be a sad day when they blow up the gulf, with the retards in power it’s the option they are going to find easiest and “most effective chance of stopping the leak” and watch the gulf turn into a giant self serve lake of light crude… 😯
I hope the BP 70% chance of working is like the 70% chance of rain tomorrow. I know it’s going to rain tomorrow (probably even today), why don’t I feel like dumping some mud on blowtorch will work…? 😕
Crap, I almost forgot, my basement is still full of water… 😯 😈
😆
Here is the plan for Wednesday… I am not hopeful unless they can somehow
shut off the top of the BOP… Putting 800lbs of mud on top of a 117,000psi,
200,000bbls a day flow just does not sound like a fix…
out of the Gulf Coast States in the near future….
Hell yeah just had a crawdad cook out this weekend. They weren’t black yet and tasty as fuck!!!!
How bout that black chick with huge tits tron posted a pick of? Could plug that sucker right on up!
You gripe about all these hard working BP exec’s just trying to save you a buck at the gas station!
Who you going to bitch at next the tabacco industry?
All this griping and you will be the first guy to punch some poor guy out at a gas station over a nicotine fix….
Oh sorry I forgot, that was you.
Heheheheh
