I hope it will shoot well I had a .30 caliber Bobcat that shot very well to about 75 yards. After that I would not hold sub MOA. Many of my fellow shooters just blamed the .30 cal pellet gun as just being inferior because the length was too short as compared to the width. This makes for a very poor drag coefficient. I believed that to be true until I purchased an EDgun .30. This gun can hold 1/2 MOA at 100 yards all day. So now I question the ability of a smooth twist barrel in the 7.62. Maybe the ROT was too fast and FX has fixed that. None the less I will proceed with caution on any large caliber FX. As far as the super soaker goes, how the gun holds is really important. The bottle on the front may feel good or it could be too bulky. I can travel with any gun, it’s not like we’re talking moving pianos. Does the Impact power wheel work like other FX rifles? I assume you set the regulator for the caliber then adjust the power wheel from there?

If you get an Impact I hope you take the time to post information about it here I haven’t ruled it out 100% but I will be traveling to Acton soon to look at the AAA. I have time either way to decide.

Thanks

The Impact is definitely by far the best designed traveling gun as well as having a ton of extra smart bits,

I can’t see why it wouldn’t be just as good as a shooter as all the other FX guns.

Yes the slayer seems to be a great rifle and I would love to get some of them but, I must save my pennies at $1800-2000 a pop to get the calibers I would like… :biggrinn:

I’m not so worried about the Impact looking “tactical” or a “super soaker” I just want something practical to travel with if this “tactical-super soaker” allows that I will get it. (now is it capable of being a shooter is the question)

Agree that the Upcoming AmericanAirArms will be something to really keep an eye on and definitely keep in serious consideration.

Thanks for posting this…

Reading this thread my mind is made up. American Air Arms will be my next gun not the super soaker. The AAA will have a TJ barrel and the level of machining from Tom makes the AAA a clear winner in my book. From Manny’s review of the AAA if the 357 can be that quiet then a .30 regulated pellet version will be outstanding. For me this is a no brainer. For some maybe the Chinese YoYo feature is a selling point but not for me.

From Michael “airgunnation..” posted this image of Regulator adjuster location. (CORRECTION adjuster is right behind the actual trigger inside the tigger gaurd )

And from this picture looks like AOA already is getting some Impacts

Wheel adjust both spring tension and stoke length of hammer

Questions and answers that i have grabbed from Scott (travel4fun) whom was at EBR

I like some things about it. I don’t want an extendible moderator. How do the baffles collapse? That seems like a gimmick. They should have kept the prototype moderator.

We’ll see, hard to make any conclusions before it’s in the hands of costumers, I expect the shroud to be the standard one with baffles than the telescopic is just extra ( that’s the way I would have made it ) if that is the case it would just be extra moderation on top of the normal design to make it even more quiet yet still easy transportable with it retracted.

Anyway, we’ll see once it’s out, but again,
on paper this gun got an Hell of a lot going for itself,……even if not a fan of Smooth Twist barrel since the barrel changing is so easy it would be not to hard to get your favorite barrel machined to fit.

Well, Harry (Yrrah) shot 1/2″ group at 100 yards with BSA barrel and those pellets. Still, not bad if it was actual competition situation. I just wonder why they shoot only 5 shot groups in comps.

I believe this group is excellent for the distance and calibre. Most of the basic info is available but definitely within a few weeks detailed reviews will be out.

To bad there isn’t more info on this gun

The FX Impact accuracy as reported in @luftvapen instagram account

Most likely the baffles don’t collapse only the tube to accommodate the various barrels will do this. The Moderator is probably sufficient enough for the .30 caliber and it is over kill for the rest of the calibers. That is great I love over kill when it comes to quiet and accuracy. However unless this gun comes with all the barrels and all the pellet probes for 1899.00 or some price close to this you are taking it up the ass compliments of The AoA Monopoly and Fredrik Axelsson at FX Air Guns.

I think the telescoping moderator is the dumbest god damn thing I have ever seen. WTF is FX doing. First they make a super soaker then they put a Chinese yo yo on the end. No thanks

want to see where FX gets it’s design inspiration from

I don’t know about that,…if that thing works correctly it’s a pretty cool Idea.

All in all this gun has so much more to it than any other gun on the market and if everything works as it’s supposed to,
well than it definitely will be a game changer.
