R3M /R3 Review and Performance .WoW

Gentlemen;

First of all i want to apologize to Mr. Eduard and all of you, because i brought you incorrect info regarding the loudness of the new R3M, i told you that it is a little bit louder than my M-Rod, but it is not like this,

Okay, let talk about the loudness, what did you say? loud? Hey Hemn what sound are you talking about? 😯 guys if the Condor sound level is #5 and M-Rod is #2 then the new R3M is 0.75 😯 😯 on my point of view, because it is really really quite, yesterday when i did some practice in my fathers backyard all the sparrows and doves or even all birds they were on their position near at me on the trees when i was trying to do some chrony test, never moved and flied, believe me guys,
when i said that R3M is a little bit louder i was in my bed room 😯 😯 when i tried three dry fire,

Eduard you are correct as you told me dry fire is usually louder than fire with pellets …. sorry again…..

it is really really nice rifle and quite also more powerful than the R3,

guys you will be surprised when you see the below strings of the new R3M, here we go……………………………………….

Date Oct 12th 2013,
Edgun Matador R3M, .22 cal, starting pressure was 220 bar as mentioned in the manual.
Pellet; JSB 18.13gr

Eduard please tell me am i sick or these fps are correct ?

Shot# FPS

1 – error
2 – error

31 – 1002
32 – 998.2
33 – 993.7
34 – 994.9 my place was very very bad for testing my gun so, i had to pull the gun toward me in order to get the perfect position for aiming the target, so, i believe those shots under 999fps occurred because of that.
35 – 995.9
36 – 999
37 – 997
38 – 999
39 – 999.2
40 – 997.9 Pressure was 155 bar

44 – error
45 – error
46 – error
47 – error
48 – Fucking error
49 – Fucking error
50 – Fucking error i believe due to the sun set the chrony wasn’t able to read. the last pressure was 145 bar

The average of the total of 39 shots = 1001.2 fps. ( i got the fps of 39 shot that is why i am calculating only 39)

the accuracy is very good out of 40 mtr for me ( since i am a new one to Bullpup and such a high quality of the gun )

Dear Sir Ville; when you read my review you will understand that there are a huge difference between R3 and R3M.

Dear Trygve; please go back to your home and let Mr. Martti ship your new R3M.

I will post the pics of the targets latter…..

Hope other guys who got their R3M share the new info ……………………

Now you´re talking. Good shooting !

quote Sir Ville:

No offense Hemn, but that group size is for at least 50m / five shots. My Cricket .25 will easily shoot 1/2 ” groups at 50m with 12 shots (full mag) all day long without hard concentration.
I think your gun is for hot for best accuracy.

My Dear Brother Ville, no offend taken at all, you and all are welcome, your suggestions are highly appreciated…

you are correct this is not a good for 35 mtr, but this is the result of a dirty barrel that fired more than 1k pellets, but you don’t forget that i have a 0.133″ five shot group at 65 mtr (72 yard), this is my earlier group with cleaned barrel;

this is also 65mtr 5 shot group;

this is a 50mtr 5 shot group;

quote octavius:

Matador is quite efficiency what I see result from brother Hemn. He get 15 shots from 200bar to 185 with average speed 950fps. This is 15bar =1shot – 1bar 😀 very efficiency. That is impossible to get from cricket. Cricket consume from 200-175=25bar 14shots – 1,7bar average speed 901fps.

Dear Octavius; this was the main and great reason that made me to go for buying Edgun,,,,

EDGUN = LESS AIR CAPACITY = MORE SHOT COUNT = BEST ACCURACY = FULL COMPACT = SEXIEST DESIGN

Oh, after one and half month finally i could post my latest test… however i have plenty of testing and strings but had not time to post here and didn’t want to waste your time with me.. here is the last string and target practice …

Date/ Jan 6th 2014, 11:30AM

pressure was 200 bar
15 shots , the reason that didn’t go for 90, 100, 110 or 120 shot string is; i have only one opened tin of JSBs … that don’t want to spend them for target practice and adjusting HST … (( My Brothers Tedd and Ville tried to help me in this case but still not get ready … ))
the average is 950.29 FPS, with JSB 18.13gr
end pressure is 185 bar

here is the 15 shots string ;

1-946.6
2-947.2
3-946.5
4-958.2
5-951.5
6-944.7
7-946.1
8-953.2
9-949.1
10-950.4
11-956
12-947.6
13-949.9
14-959.2
15-948.1

here is 38 Yard 5 shot group ;

i don’t know, still this power is hot for me… ❗ ❗ i have to work till i get the average of 920 or 910 FPS … Hopefully if i get time :3: :3: :3: :3: :3:

Yes, i did get your idea, you mean if or when i adjust the reg, i have to fill to 1500 psi not more, just to see the result, isn’t it?

So, do you think you can get the full result with only a half air reservoir fill?

if yes, can we or is there any lower recommended pressure for that purpose or adjustment? for earning time and less pumping as well….

thanks…

i don’t want to pump all the 388cc from zero

This is a great reason not to empty the cylinder!!!

I drained my tank this weekend setting the reg on mine. Went from just under 3000psi to now just over 1500psi. 😯

Dear Brother Syn;

Thanks for your great advice, thank for all, appreciate that you take your time and write to me,,,,,

But i want to know why Eduard has set the reg pressure high always?

the main reason that i don’t want to touch the reg is i don’t want to pump all the 388cc from zero, i have no enough time to do all these steps…. if i had an air cylinder that would be okay …. because you can fill the air reservoir within a 10 or 15 seconds… but pump Oh, you know that ….

i am sure that the reg set very high but i will follow Eduard’s advice and let me see what can i reach??????

thanks…

Hemn,

Ed ALWAYS says “don’t adjust the regulator”.

My rifle came shooting 177, 10.34grain pellets at 1200fps… Fine if i’m looking for 9″-12″ groups at 60 yards, but unacceptable for actually hitting something twice. This rifle was tuned BY ED…

To get it in the 890’s I had to cut my HST spring, but even then my velocity would jump 10-20fps PER shot, essentially the velocity change of an unregulated gun. I did not want to start cutting stuff on a brand new $2000 rifle, but if I didn’t I would be able to hit anything… Even after adjusting the HST to the velocity I wanted, the rifle would also start to climb in velocity at the end of the string, this meant the reg pressure was set too high. I adjusted the reg and the velocity jump was cut in half right away, with some more HST work I expect no more than 5fps difference between shots for over 150 shots. Already it is more accurate, better shooting and uses less air than the way it was set up by Ed himself.

In other words he is giving you this advice because if you mess something up you will have to wait a long time to get parts. It has nothing to do with getting the rifle to shoot the best it can. And if I relied on Ed’s ability to set up my rifle I would be more accurate if I threw pellets at the target or spit them from my mouth.

Expect to see your fps jump all over the place if the reg isn’t set to match your desired velocity. But if you are fine with 20 fps difference (or more) between shots then not adjusting the regulator will work for you.

quote oldgoat:

I work second shift and usually only post here after closing time at the local bar.

All of the R2.5 Matadors that I have ever tuned required a clockwise turn on the regulator adjusting screw to reduce the regulators set pressure. The R3s that I have and have tuned required the same.

A couple of years ago, my fellow anal Matador tuning brother, Endo, asked for help here to turn his R3 Matador’s speed down. I got clockwise and counter clockwise (anticlockwise? LOL!) transposed and poor Endo nearly drove himself crazy, removing the reg, turning the reg screw counter/anti and having the speed keep increasing!

The next day, he posted and asked WTF was he doing wrong?

I felt more stupid than normal when I replied that I had the turn direction wrong on the reg adjustment instructions.

Endo got the Matador figured out and he has posted some of the best shot strings that have ever been posted here AND, he still PMs me and doesn’t hold a grudge for my fuck up!

You senile old shit. You gave me same sister/wife backcountry loving wrong advice as well.
Luckily Endo stepped in during my frustration just as I pulled out reg screw completely to verify threading.
If it weren’t for all the good advice you’ve given overall
we would have banned your sheep loving ass long ago for such insolence.
I also luckily achieved stellar numbers with my 22 once on the right path.

Ed said” You should do anything to regulator in this case,” He meant “should not do”, right? just adjust the hst spring.

Dear Syn;

Yesterday night i have sent an email to Mr. Eduard, explained my situation and asked what to do with the regu? i told him that i want to adjust the regu and after that have ability with good result to shot between the 890 fps to 950 fps with only HST adjustment, see his reply;

to me
Hi, Hemn,

You should do anything to regulator in this case, just use hammer spring regulation. Go down to 700 f/sec, then raise it slowly to the speed you need.

Ed

So, i want to try this and see the result…. and also i want to go to the end pressure and see till what pressure the regu will keep its stability….

Edit; if you see the used air for the average 958 fps is almost close to the 910 or 920 ….

thanks,,,,

quote synopsys:

Hemn,

You won’t know what the regulator is doing until you get to the end of the shot string. Also the fps jump between shots is telling me that for that velocity the reg is not set properly… 😉

quote knifemaker:

Hemm, the 3 ft. sugggestion is so that the muzzle blast doesn’t change the readings.

With a good LDC, (Which the ED Guns have, and breaks up the blast from the muzzle.) this should allow a much closer set-up. But three feet is still just fine.

KnifeMaker

When I’m chronying, I slide this at the end of the barrel.
It makes the air go sideways.

Regards, Robert.

Dears,
