Ranger 45
Well I have a tracking number for the Ranger 45 that was assembled, test fired, chronyed, and shipped today.
28 inch barrel, standard stock and black crerakote finish, $1230 dollars including shipping.
To early to get the arrival date, it is not in the system yet.
Chrony numbers were:
Round ball. low setting 3000 PSI……1018 FPS
225………. low setting 3000 PSI……..877 FPS
405 shot 1 hi setting 4500 PSI………804 FPS
340 shot 2 hi setting 4500 PSI………843 FPS
These numbers will improve by 30 to 50 FPS as the rifle breaks in.

shoot …….one of these times when you hit refresh on the ups page , someone will knock on the door ,and then leave a sticker ! attempt at delivery ! man that would suck ! or you could be stuck in the bathroom , and miss the guy ! ……… JK ! ha ! ha !
today i bought some 250 g roundnose flat point bullets 500 count from whole sports , i tried to by some from midstates but when i called they said that the site i was looking at was their old site , when i checked there new one the prices were way the hell up !

You can rent a 6000psi nitrogen tank pretty cheap.
I have been scoped by the best of them, perhaps that is why a friend of mine once recommended that I write may address and phone nmber on the back of my hand so they would know where to deliver me after test firing some of my creations.
I once built a Mdl 700 340 Weatherby that weighed in at 6.5 lbs with scope. That sucker could cut you up bad, but a finer elk stopping rifle never existed. But I think the worse I ever got it was shooting over a rockpile, up hill with a 243 of all things.
At one time I wanted to recamber a 5.5 lb Ruger #3 i 375 Win to 375 H&H, a gunsmith friend of mine kept dragging his feet on the project until I could get professional help.
I competed for years at 1000 yard shooting, I had two match rifles, a Shilo Sharps Sporting rifle originally in 45/70 then rechambered by me to 45/100 and a original Engraved Sharps Borschardt with a 32 inch Krieger barrel, the barrel of course was not original, in 45/100, same reamer on both rifles. I used to come down with a blinding migraine after each match, which involved 52 shots from a sitting postion off sticks.
Actually I found that shooting just about all my heavy rifles caused migraines, something I like about air rifles…….So far.
I do not know if it is the sudden blast wave, for traveling via airplane causes it also, or the actual recoil of a 530 grain bullet behind 93 grains of black powder causes. I have better meds for it now, so time will tell, precisely about the end of next week should tell.
400 grains at 800 FPS is not as bad as 530 at 1200 FPS, but those rifles also weighed in at around 14 lbs and this little XP is going in at 9.5 max.
So like I say time will tell, I may be the guy with the killer deal on a xp and pain squinted eyes at the next Lane County gun show.
At any rate, I think I will enjoy the workmanship of this rifle.

ya know i wonder if the ranger could shoot with 5000 psi ? i have a tank that can go even higher than that , if it can it will be interesting to see how much fps can be had with the 36inch barrel and that higher pressure , if ya could shoot a 500+ grain at 1100 -1200 fps that would really be something .
this is where i think the future is headed is higher pressure more power , in the future will make these guns hunting beast ! …..ha !.. as if the ranger is not already !
i can’t wait to get our guns ,snd shoot them , and start posting some numbers up .

Bolt pull is not effortless .It is a BB . But it is so smooth and positive . It is something that I have not felt in any other AR . By the way with all this power comes recoil . Don’t get scoped .Marvin
