The EDgun regulator is one of the best in the world. It is straightforward and efficient. The regulator is capable of almost 1 FPS extreme spread. Wingman did an excellent video where he showed that variation is caused by external factors, not the regulator. So the Huma advantage comes from its low profile, this gives more volume in the plenum. I would put it on par with the Edgun regulator regarding efficiency
In the standard, the speed I can achieve realistically is 790 to 810 with the Huma and 34s. The long will hit about 830 max. I don’t like the current set up, and I would like to run the regulator at 120 and get speeds of 880 in the long with 34s. I have some ideas how to do it, and Wingman is going to help.
So be patient I am working on a solution to get more speed and not redline the capability of the Matador

It will be sold as a complete power tune kit and wont fit either std OEM reg as it replaces from the valve body forward. It will be complete with a Huma reg.
Been watching this with interest. If it happens, please consider selling the plenum extension separately for those of us that already have the Huma reg 🙂

So I can go with either OEM Matador reg (old or new one) or Huma reg?
If successful all that will be needed is the Huma and the plenum extension. Phil and I both agree that the “power tune” to be a drop in without the need to alter the OEM equipment
I’m also interested in that kit. Keep me on the waiting list.

Ok a long sunny day of testing the prototype and trying different tunes.
Im happy to report it performs very well!
I have my .25cal R3 long set up at 125 bar to shoot kings at 900fps. which shoots the 34gr heavies at 800fps
It never shot the heavies well enough for me to use them.. about an inch at 50 where the kings would be a very small ragged hole.
Well today I fitted the prototype .25cal power kit and I was very shocked! While the chrono figures I got were what I expected with a modest tune the accuracy on paper was the surprise.. a nice small ragged hole at 50y just like the kings..
I took my target out to 100y and benched this sweet 10 shot 3/4 MOA group with the 34gr heavies at 900fps!
This gun actually shoots them much better at speed, Id be lucky to get them inside 3″ at 100 at the old 800fps setting.
So 61-62 ftlbs of wind bucking High B.C hard hitting fun from a matador long… I know Im smiling :biggrinn:
Heres a look at “part” of the prototype kit, I have made a few changes already so the production kit will be even better than this one Im testing.
I am happy with the initial testing, Its is smooth and quiet and got plenty of usable shots.
I will hold of posting figures as yet as the prototype will not reflect the production kits numbers.
With longevity in mind I have dropped it back off the early redline max speed testing and I am now working on a drop in kit that will give about 910 -920fps in the long matador without stressing its parts excessively.
I have just sent this prototype to Brian for more testing/punishment at his end in the newer R3M and also a std length matador to see if it is a effective kit for that too.
