Received my "Knock-off" Atlas Bipod today !
Got the Atlas-copy/knock-off/whatever Bipod today. I haven´t hold an original Atlas in my hand so i don´t know exactly how it feels and so but this one looks exactly like it does on those Greenbase pics and is a well made piece as it seems. Definitely worth the price. As i said before i only have good experience with Greenbase (have bought loads of stuff from them in more than a dozen occasion) and the Bipod in question is as described and well worth those few bux it cost.

FVA, sorry I meant to comment on your post, in my last post.
Thank you for your thoughts and the only thing I need to make clear is that there is NOT a licensed V8 Atlas bipod.
We licensed the V7 which another member has posted up here, and it, as well as ANY other licensed Atlas bipod will have “For Airsoft” permanently marked on them.
Kasey check your PM’s
Dr Steele, I appreciate the suggestions, but the fact is we spend more in raw materials and the treatment of same than the counterfeiters are selling their knock-offs for! I won’t go into all the details but I would respectfully suggest our product is far more than 20% better. I’ve seen them, taken them apart and can identify most but not all of the materials.
Ville you started this thread didn’t you? If that’s true, you have lied. So please don’t act innocent as if you simply came to defend your lack of character. I can’t check to confirm, but will and if you did I’ll let the post stand if you didn’t, please forgive me till I can edit it
Jetta, good idea to disengage, either you can’t read or you can’t understand what you have read. Whatever is the case your actions are defenseless and as a union member you should be ashamed.
Funny how you only quote my words in order to try and prove just
Your side…but regardless I’m not a shamed of buying a knock off because reading the way you talk to people REALLY don’t make me want to support any product you might sell…talking about peoples charecter but what you say really shows what kind of buisness person you are…your idea of the bipod might have been good but your item isn’t the hottest thing out and nor will it be…so be happy you have that contract because if it wasn’t for that I doubt there would have been any b&t for that much longer…so good day and keep on posting all you want cause I made my choice and spoke my words…anything else from you is just repetitive and serves no more point.
Sir Ville “This is meaningless and leads nowhere.”
So my defending our products and the people I work with as well as our customers that have bought Atlas bipods is meaningless? I could not disagree more.
“but i do like other features they both have and the Harris don’t. Like the possibility to tilt the legs 45 degrees under the stock….”
So you like the novel features of the Atlas you just don’t want to pay me for the idea that became a legitimate product that was counterfeited and purchased by you. Or wait, it’s you don’t like the importer so you justify your actions against me and buy counterfeit products…. Great logic.
What I should have said about the exchange rate is I don’t care about it nor what it is as it has zero to do with my business as I trade in US dollars with all our vendors.
“If we’re going by the letter then he’s a thief too. After all it wasn’t him who originated the idea of a easily detachable, tilting Bipod in the first place. Those damned thieves are all over it seems. Shame on all of us. Shame..”
I’ll try to educate you on patents, but will share that the bipod as a whole is not patented but rather the novel features, the things that separate the Atlas from other bipods, those things are NOVEL and are patented. So while your attempt here to expose me as a thief is as silly as your other claims. It’s interesting another post here mentioned the 60.00 we charge for the ADM lever we sell on our bipod, it is made by ADM, we did not try to copy it for extra profit, we simply buy them from ADM and pay them their rate.
Urgirlinmyjetta “i live in the US and i support all american made products…but for my personal needs which is like others said…to hold up an air rifle….doesn’t justify $300…”
That is funny, a union member justifying what is basically “scab’ action!
“…as sv said the only reason i chose to buy the “fake” version was to use the different positions it offered….”
So you too like the novel features of the Atlas, the features that set it apart but just don’t want to pay for them, at least not my price because according to you, it’s too high, ahh, so that must make it okay to buy the counterfeit ones. Like if your living on a hamburger budget and want steak, you steal sum steak right? Right-on. Is that more union thought there?
“what you need to realize here is your not talking to marine snipers here….” .
Thanks for pointing that out so you must be SEAL’s then right?
Seriously do you think it would matter to me who you are? All I know is your buying stolen products because you can justify it while not giving two hoots about the real cost of counterfeits.
“And as for your comment on being non union….id say i wouldn’t say that too loud and be proud of that either…..I’m a union worker and proud to be one….and for you to talk about how were not feeding your pocket or another americans pocket by not buying your bipod but still openly admit to being non union is an embarrassment…. who’s to say your hiring americans to assemble your “baby’s” wed have to take your word at that huh?”
I’ll say what I have to say on this subject matter without any regard to the audience. And my co-workers are not in question here and I sure don’t need a union to tell me how to treat them. They actually work and get rewarded for it. Novel concept right? What is in question is your willingness to buy counterfeit products. As far as taking my word, I’ve not lied, you have by stating; “airsoftcart is the legal licensed reproduction” and you don’t even acknowledge the lie, just forge ahead and throw more excuses out there for your bad judgment.
“im not here to bash your product or to say i dont agree with your feelings on your work being copied….i have the freedom of choice and shouldn’t be told im a crook for buying what fits my needs and budget…”
So you agree that I have the right to be upset by this but you have the right to upset me by buying counterfeit copies of our products? Wow, so why does it matter who my employees are if I can justify it based on my needs and budget?
‘if you feel like we all need your product and not the replica than im always open for any free item someone is willing to give me….’
Please show me where I have said anyone needs an Atlas bipod, you can’t so this is just another side step, a little dishonesty never hurts in your world ehh? I’m not surprised by you looking for a handout, but I’ll pass. My charity goes to the homeless, the Wounded Warriors, organizations that help people for peoples sake, not individuals that justify theft because it benefits them.
One more thing : I just visited the Swedish importer site for a first time like in six months. Surprise – he has lowered the Atlas price considerably since the time i was in the market for one for the first time (which left me searching thru Internet, try to buy one from US and ultimately lead me to the Greenbase) so maybe people buying some knock-offs has forced the importer to lower his pricing to a more humane level. So there´s a good side of them knock-off´s too.
And no , the USD to SEK exchange rate has been about the same since more than two years – at least – so that´s not the reason for the change of pricing
Ville, I can’t blame you in the least. Yours is a situation of geography. NOBODY, not even Kasey, would pay 8-10 times more for a product that is 20% better.
My point exactly ! I wouldn´t have engaged in this discussion in the first place wasn´t it the remark about the character – or the abscence of it – of the people (me) buying thee knock-off. And calling us (me) a thief. Since he can´t get to those who stole his idea (Chinese manufacturers) he then tries to manipulate the conscense of people willing to buy the knock-off . No worky with me.
It wasn´t that long time ago there was a thread where Ed was threatened by someone (we all know who) with the start of a knock-off production of an EdGun. Was he whining over it ? No – more like “bring it on, Bitch and see how it goes”.
And as you said only an idiot would pay ten times the price for an original even if it was 30% better than the knock-off. It´s simple mathematics – not thieving.
Hey guys…I love all you guys on this forum. But, on this one, I think Kasey is right. He is being screwed by the Chinese. They do it TO EVERY GOOD IDEA EVER CREATED….BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO GOOD IDEAS FOR THEMSELVES. If you’re a Chinese member on this forum, I apologize for the general remark I just made. I’m referring to the manufacturing part of Chinese export market. They are vultures.
Kasey, I will say however, they wouldn’t aggressively copy your design with such great success if you provided a product that was more competitive. I’m a businessman. I have been, and so were my parents. It all comes down to supply and demand. There is a STRONG demand for a similar product for less than yours. FOR GODS SAKE….MAKE ONE. Mercedes has a car that is similar in looks and fit and finish available from $30,000 to $150,000. It may be time for you to introduce your “C class” model. For the record, I bought your Atlas….THE ORIGINAL….4 days ago. I respect you and your product Sir.
Ville, I can’t blame you in the least. Yours is a situation of geography. NOBODY, not even Kasey, would pay 8-10 times more for a product that is 20% better.
Well , it seems there is a legit knock off so I would encourage those who want to go the cheap route to go that route.
Every one shot their guns before the Atlas came out so if you can’t afford one bide your time until you can or do with out.
But short cuts will test human nature.
Costs in equipment, materials, time to design, build prototypes and then market are considerable as is the guts to do so as the odds are slim that the result will be success.
Someone has to pay for that.
When it turns into success the Chinese build a blatant knock in some up and running factory stealing the long road the maker took in his success
Patents run out and knock offs of products that have done so are one thing. Stealing the intellectual property and hard work of new products and being OK with that because it is affordable to me I cannot.
Perhaps those who have haven’t thought things through prior to their purchase. But at least be intellectually honest in your reevaluation. That is a true test of character.

In all fairness i see CLEARLY Kasey’s point as well – as i already said earlier in the beginning of this thread i’d be pissed too was i in his shoes. What i don’t agree is the way he talks about my character and how it can be bought. I may not have his Godlike character and righteousness he possesses but the little to no character i have is not for sale. Neither am i that easily convinced that i- and everyone who buys copied products – is a thief stealing from him. If we’re going by the letter then he’s a thief too. After all it wasn’t him who originated the idea of a easily detachable, tilting Bipod in the first place. Those damned thieves are all over it seems. Shame on all of us. Shame…
And Casey- sell me one of your Bipods, used one or new, for the going price in US and i’ll buy one from you in a heartbeat. You must have the license to export it since you’re already selling them Internationally. Do that and i’ll not buy another Atlas knock-off. You have my word, as a thief and a Gentleman. With or without character but a Gentleman nevertheless.

very true SV….i live in the US and i support all american made products…but for my personal needs which is like others said…to hold up an air rifle….doesn’t justify $300…shit i could easily use my shit i got from my local airsoft shop to do that job…but as sv said the only reason i chose to buy the “fake” version was to use the different positions it offered….
what you need to realize here is your not talking to marine snipers here….your talking to guys that shoot at paper targets for fun….and maybe a squirrel or rabbit once in a while…..its a hobby and i dont feel the need to make a choice to spend 300 on a bipod for my quick shot at a beer can or buy groceries for my family….
And as for your comment on being non union….id say i wouldn’t say that too loud and be proud of that either…..I’m a union worker and proud to be one….and for you to talk about how were not feeding your pocket or another americans pocket by not buying your bipod but still openly admit to being non union is an embarrassment…. who’s to say your hiring americans to assemble your “baby’s” wed have to take your word at that huh?

until then i suggest take the good with the bad…be glad you have a military contract to keep your pocket full and your business up and running…and also except the fact that replicas are going to be made of a good product…so be flattered that china wants to reproduce your idea

I can see your point as well SV. No way I would pay double the price for a product just because it is imported. No Way! If I culd get a similar product for 1 tenth the price, and it works, I would have to give it hard thought!

This is meaningless and leads nowhere. You stand on your posts and i stand on mine. I really don’t need the Atlas or its knock-off, nor do i need to impress anyone by letting them think it’s an original. I’ve made very clear here, from the first beginning, that i own a knock-off. Not many Swedes even know about the Atlas nor do they – or i for that matter- care.
And FYI – i’m not especially found of the look of the Atlas or the counterfeit and i could live with far less Tacticool – look but i do like other features they both have and the Harris don’t. Like the possibility to tilt the legs 45 degrees under the stock so the weight lies more pronounced on the middle of the gun,so to say.
Would a Harris have this feature i’d rather have one of theirs (and do have a couple : knock-offs) due the more subtle, non-military look.
And you’re right ; I rather support those thieves selling a product that fills my need than the thief that imports your product and tries as openly steal consumers hard earned with a pricing that’s more than double the price in US. And if you’re such businessman you know your previous point about exchange rates holds no water since the USD exchange rate against the Swedish Crown is all-time low and that should LOWER the price for items imported from US.

So when did you become knowledgable of and our spokesperson to speak with authority on our business plans regarding the counterfeiters?
Here’s an idea, stick to what you know, you’ll look better in the long run and after all you are all about the look.
