The Mutant is hard to beat. Mine gets 45 shots at 25 foot pounds and it is truly quiet. Butter smooth cocking and bug busting accuracy. My youngest son has stolen it from me and I have a hard time prying it out of his hands.

That being said, honestly after all the Bullpups I have gone through the damn EDgun is still my most accurate gun. I know there are haters out there and some of you have good reason to be upset with EDgun’s customers relations. I cannot complain about Ed, he has always been there to answer my questions and he takes pride in his guns. They are finished well and reliable. I have almost 60K though my R3M .22 and it never leaks, always shoots perfectly and I will NEVER sell it. The same goes for my R3M .25. If I didn’t love these guns so much I wouldn’t have purchased 2 more, a Lelya and R3 .30. You guys want Ed to eat the 100 bucks? Ed never set the price. He is not the dealer. If I wanted to pay the original price let’s just say I wouldn’t bitch and moan here, I would pick up the phone and negotiate like a man. If a person would do that you might be surprised at the outcome, just sayin.

Are you sure once you get back your money order you’re not going straight to order a Mutant Shorty?

Ed gives you a unique opportunity and good reasons to bail out without losing anything ….

Sorry RIDE, just kidding, I know you are really a man of sound principles :thumb: (or may be better :butkick: )

With deep respect

I’m still waiting on my money order Tony wants to return before I can get a new one for the whole price of both guns. planning on selling my original Lelya once the new matched set comes in and using that money to try out a shorty mutant !!

If Ed put those extra expenses on Tony after the pre-orders came in then Ed owes Tony a reimbursement for those costs and Tony should reimburse us the $100. From what I understand from your post is that you decided on this shipment of guns that you weren’t making enough money selling them to the USA market. You didn’t actually have a cost increase that occurred in the last 12 months while manufacturing the guns. It might be different in Russia but in the USA it is very dishonorable to not honor your word on a price. If I had not already purchased a couple of accessories specific to this gun and waited over a year for it I probably would have cancelled my order.

Like Ed said, you are free people in a free country and you have the freedom to accept the price increase and so you will get the Lelya or otherwise you let it go but be happy because you have the freedom to choose.

Those are the choices of freedom that you have: Say YES and you will have the gun, say NO and you won’t get it, no compromises.

Please remember as well that Ed doesn’t like posts sounding like “black-mailing” style, he is a man of sound principles not prone to blackmailing, apparently his style is more “hold-up” like (GIMME THE MONEY! )

Whatever honest business man in this situation would just keep his word, even if this should translate into a loss instead of reduced profit and would still add tons of apologies for having delivered so late.

This is just my opinion on this matter.

But the Edgun company is already well known for having a “Kafkaesque” business model (Reminds me the “Never Ending Story” title) :fishinghole:

So you PROUD Edgun owners, up to you! Use your FREEDOM!

Ed .
Being a proud owner of a Edgun R3M 22. The best air gun I’ve had the pleasure of owning and shooting. This is my opinion on this matter.
Ed when you and your customers agree on a price on a item and funds are exchanged ,that’s where it should stand and you and your sales department should stand behind your word. Having your customers on such a long waiting time doesn’t help the situation ether, but hasn’t got anything to do with changing the purchase price. Look at all the disgruntled customers your creating and all the feathers that are starting to blow in the wind. At this point that’s the last thing you need.
If I was in your shoes I’d stick to what Tony and you had agreed to on this shipment to your customers , and eat the difference between the two of you.
Most of the people on this forum know that your a honorable man and will do the right thing on this issue. At least I do.

I think both Hoot and KS are right. I need to eat more prune and communication was the major problem. If I was told, “hey due to conditions out of the reseller control we have to increase the price $100, do you still want to make the purchase?” I personally would have felt less fired up after waiting a year. Instead, it was like, “gun is here, pay $1,450”.

 pip, all EDgun owners say that. It’s how we sleep at night.

… it’s only money…

That’s what Warren Buff*t, Mark Zuckerb*rg, Bill Gat*s and TAG’s Keyser Soze are used to say

+1 :8:

Maybe Ed and Tony are not going to open bottles of Champagne on this shipment but they have done it all the time (IMHO)

As a business owner, I can tell you costs change all the time. Labor, shipping, supplies, overhead. However, when a customer is quoted a price, then that is the price I hold to because I gave my word that’s what the price would be. If it means it eats into my profit, then it eats into my profit. If conditions change after I have received an order at a specific price, I don’t think it’s trust worthy to say “I know I said it was going to cost $X but now it’s going to cost $X+$Y because things changed.” If the market requires a price increase, that increase gets published and all orders going forward pay the new price. I’m sorry Ed, but when you say you haven’t found the right answer I think there is one – you and Tony work it out in the background on how to honor the price you stated – for example, each of you eats $50 in profit. Its the right thing to do, plain and simple.

quote Pippo:

Ed,

thank you for giving a description of the current situation.

Nevertheless I have to say IMHO that if the mark-ups of your dealers are so shockingly high as you have described then I believe they have more than enough margin to make everything right if they want.

I told that Tony is just one among the other dealers who I cannot dictate the final price and can determine it myself. He buys my guns and set the price he consider normal. If he make a mistake, he will not earn, or he will not sell them. I am out of it already. On the other things I am still here, willing to help with any questions I can. If dealer is not going good sells I just change it, it happened alredy in Russia and out of it. So, that is just life, I don’t see anything to worry about.

It’s important to remember that the deposit given to Tony was only a gesture it wasn’t really a deposit in the true sense of the word. I have bought fine shotguns from Europe and England for years. More times than I can remember I waited 20 months for a gun only to have the price adjusted on me. All of these situations I had a real deposit of 33% to 50% on the item. I’m not trying to justify anyone changing the price on an item but it happens all the time. This is the quagmire found with small production items. There isn’t enough volume for the maker and or dealer to absorb the cost. When you run production on a large scale it is easier to amortize small changes in manufacturing and shipping costs.

So what’s my point? My point is that communication is the problem. Ed should have made this post a few months ago. Tony should have communicated the price change months ago. I knew the price had changed because I asked. I asked if there was a price change back in April. So the reality is 100 dollars is not that big of an adjustment. We are spending stupid money on toys. My friend said I am nothing more than a 12 year old with a better bank account. Airgun are jewelry for men. Customers feel better when they are kept in the loop. Here on TAG is a great way to reach a bunch of customers for free. No reason not to use it to communicate.

Ed,

thank you for giving a description of the current situation.

Nevertheless I have to say IMHO that if the mark-ups of your dealers are so shockingly high as you have described then I believe they have more than enough margin to make everything right if they want.
