This guy is clearly the real deal IMO. Rest of yo punks need to pipe down when the Dan Man is wording up on da wisdom. He shoots the shit out of stuff and I believe will indeed be shooting the ‘shit’ out of this new (and yet to actually hold) rifle. I haven’t seen Jerry ‘shoot the shit’ out of any gun.
AND he’s a dead good racer. In his PRO CLASS no less. 😉
PLUS he’s got loads of tanks and compressors and shoeboxes and hatstands and coathooks and stuff 😎
EDIT- Oh yeah Jerry, you is a Biatch.
Heheheee….. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
Jim, are the DAQ triggers any better?
Jack made a good move going with a Timney.
Thought he used QB triggers at first?
Do you know if Mcvey was the guy making the QB conversions for Compasseco? they weren’t up to much for sure.
I wonder if Leroy Roduner and Dan Mcvey parted on good terms especially as you don’t hear much of the Gargoyle anymore.
Walter….
no argument on Jack’s old trigger being primative, once I get back home in a day or two I intend on posting up a few macros here on my own Haley so every one can judge for themselves
that’s why I am changing mine out for a Crosman Marauder trigger group
then again looks like McVey decided to copy one of the worst features of Jack’s guns, just redone in better standard of materials and workmanship which does not make it all that superior particularly when coupled with that assinine misuse of allen bolts 😆 😆 😆
actually he was upset with me for “hijacking” his thread, had nothing to do with Haley
infact my post there was to Roach, not Bob
and it’s still a primative trigger young troll
NEXT 🙄
triggers ??? , i have some pics of a trigger set up that Jack Haley used that after 20 shots , is showing signs of wear , making it dangerous to shoot ,, anyone that wants these pics that can post them up send me your email , and i will send them 2 you , DH
for me it’s not a problem with folks trying new things & thinking outside the box…
I am partially reasponsible for planting the initial seeds that developed into several AG products as well as a few one off monsters that I continue to refine…stick in the mud I am not 😉
OK you race jet skis…the reason I never commented was I grew up around that crap, Artco & Polaris are my backyard, can’t count the race sleds I have owned over the years: performance RVs are nothing unique when you live in the Jack Pine barrens of extreme Northern MN although personal watercraft are about worthless on any major body of water here…same with tri hulls, House boats and any thing other than a deep V hull design…crest to trough depth and frequency simply precludes their use on the larger lakes
good for puttering around on our rivers & creeks…problem is the best areas for them all are no wake regulated.
Here’s a tidbit for you…in a couple years most all Polaris products will be off shore manufacture…company is under new ownership and they seem intent on moving production from Roseau MN to the new plant they are building in Mexico.
anyways my experience isn’t with personal RVs
its well over three decades as a gunsmith & vendor of firearms.
I’d say that puts me a bit ahead of the curve from some nose picker kid into these things he only just discovered & finds neat & cool…muchless some machinist who has little to no actual background in arms, air or otherwise.
I didn’t want to start bashing McVey but after Tof mentioned his Corsair issues I did a bit of research into similar problems reported in a number of online communities. Seems McVey really screwed the pooch on those guns…I mean who the hell would design a valve with no return spring on the valve stem, moreover no retainer for said stem? Big problem there when you run this system out of air as it seems the valve stem just falls right out of the valve housing!
To complicate matters further these guns that folks paid their hard earned dollars for are near totally closed architecture…sealed units not designed for being taken apart
Figure thats a major factor why the Corsair is out of production
again cases of Extremely poor design regardless of how well he machined them or the quality of materials used. As rough as some of the Haley guns may have been you don’t see crap like this on them
That type of mess is the product of someone attempting to reinvent the wheel when they have little expertise in that field young Danny
Anyways if you are going to crow about a few past Jack Haley failures being “ripoffs” of consumers, you best include Dan McVeys Corsair as another fine example of investing good money in a bad product.
Crazy thing is is that there was absolutely no reason for McVey to do a two piece tube or design an inferior valve…all he needed to do was manufacture a one piece tube with an end fill and modify the stock QB valve!
remember the same fertile mind that developed the first AG valve without a return spring or retainer is the mind that came up with using allen bolt heads for sear engagement points on his new uber schnitzel Ranger
not a design track record I am envious of or that you should be impressed by sonny.
Hell Tof is so disilluioned by both Haley AND McVey he seems to be swearing off any future custom big bore purchase and shouldn’t he know having been 2 or 3 times biten?
again the valve stem that falls out of the body when the rifle is fully discharged speaks absolute volumes for McVeys lack of expertise in this field when he designed that valve.
I can only hope for my friend Roach that there has been a learning curve with those past failures.
Here on TAG we have a bit of experience with this sort of crap Danny…
a year or two back Blod in the UK was unable to keep up with the demand for his wonderful high flo AF valves so pretty much out of goodness of heart he allowed a cat in Texas, SlephB to offer clones of those valves. On the surface they did look extremely nice but the problem was SlephB slightly changed some demensions on the stem which weakened them and then used the wrong alloy resulting in a spate of broken stems in his valves
Sleph was a credible craftsman he just had Zero experience with Air Guns and thats what comes from folks thinking outside of what THEY know.
sorry to burst your bubble head kid
naw…not really 😆 😆 😆
One question, and related comments.
What does all this blab about racing Jet Ski have to do with being a knowledgable about airgunning? You seem to be waving a flag over there, while talking nonsense over here.
The fellas you are fighting with are in the PRO CLASS over here. That means the know what they are talking about when it comes to airguns. You wont find them spouting off a bunch of non-related gibberish to prove their points, or to try and make themselves seem believable.
Yeah I know… rebuttal awaits… try to remain focused on my question.
OK , Fawk , and Shat , i hope that made your day !
i think what we have here is a bunch of OLD GRANDMA’S stuck in the mud !
that can not stand the thought of someone thinking outside of what they know , and think they know it all !
you live in the Gorge Columbia river ? that is where i jet ski the most , some of the best conditions to ride at with killer scenery, Hood river , is one of my favorite spots ,
now these grandmas said they didn’t know anything about me or who i was, so i told them , a guy that races jet ski’s, that likes to shoot airguns, DH
Shut it Biatch.
Que the fawk? 😛
Hot chicks on the beach- fast ski’s ! killer time !
😯 😆 😆 😆 😆
Shut it Biatch.
You forgot to say Fawk, and Shat.

Dan Mcvey did not not copy hacker Jacks trigger dumb azz ,
, please show us all one of Hacker Jack Haleys cnc 12 grade allens and cnc tool steel multi coated trigger set up’s !
ya can’t cause he never made one , hacksaw Haley doe’s not own a CNC MACHINE !!!!
you are no expert on design , you ignore rule number one ! if a given design works well for it’s application , than it is in-fact a good design for that application
the designed trigger that Dan has used on his ranger airgun has proven itself over thousands of shots , with NO SIGNS OF WEAR !!
so any comment you make about the xp trigger design other than a good one is simply a BIG FAT LIE ! ! that you have no basis at all to judge by , because you can not prove that it does not work good , in your guys own words you do not have the rifle , you have never shot the rifle ,
show us one person that has shot the ranger that says the trigger is junk ! !
everyone that has shot the xp ranger gun says the trigger worked flawless perfect , out of the box ! the people that own one or have shot one !
