traxxas E-Revo 1:10 brushless
it arrived yesterday, i ordered it as soon as i had sold enough stuff…but it seems like they are in short supply most places, and where its available they want nearly 700 bucks for it….so i ended up canceling the truck at thebarnfloor.com who had it for 609….and went ebay for 660 with 8% bing cashback….making it 608 incl shipping
bought 4 packs of zippy 3S 25C 5000mah batteries and a 8 cell charger for lipo….charger can be programmed in tons of ways, and it does balance charging and all including temp probe
also ordered castle link which allows me to program the ESC, and theres a lot of stuff to change….like braking, acceleration curve, how much initial power it can draw and much more
anyhow the truck….well buggy….no truck…had it not been for the monster truck wheels i would call it a buggy with such a streamlined body and all
its all very nicely laid out…and came completely ready to run…i dropped 8AA into the transmitter, and loaded 2 lipos….and off i went driving a bit carefull….but its very hard not to try see what it can do.
before programming it….it was VERY agressive, launching wheelies as soon as you added more power, allmost hard to keep the front down….it has tons of body roll, and the gear train could sound nicer….but it all works….breakes was set at 50%, which is like a sloppy 1:8 nitro buggy brake, upped it to 75% which is enough to make a stoppie, so i lowered it to 70% which gives lots of breaking, but only does stoppies when max brakes are applied and surface allows it.
this truck should come with a center diff, why they dont dump that 25$ item in there from the start is a mystery to me….with all the wheelie power it would be nice with a centerdiff to transfer the power forward once the front lifts off
second i wish they had used bolts on some of the screws….they just thread into plastic, and is way easy to overtighten, even with great care taken…
third….i would have liked it as a kit….you learn so much from assembling it your self….not i have to guess what to take appart for access a certain part
i got center diff ordered, but it hasnt showed up yet….and i ordered a sway bar kit….this kit is a must ! it helps soooooo much
one tire has allready shredded 🙄 i hope some glue will hold it together so i can get a few more miles out of it
i put my old digital camera on it….it has a lens housing for extra lenses so i though that would protect it …and it did….but the ride was too rough i guess for it to keep recording…it kept ending up with format error….i really wish i had recorded there was some spetacular crashes 🙂

But if I were you, I wouldn’t try carpet. I think the insane traction might start breaking things on a truck like yours. Driveshafts, motor shafts, and speed controllers aren’t cheap. 😯
hehe….havent dared drive mine on carpet….think the nubbies will have too good tracktion and i will ruin something……gotta look up the motor combo….do you have pictures of your car ?
well if someone would do me up a real cool stylish looking body with the TAG logo that would be cool….sort of like a sponsored truck…i like the idea…gotta sell off some stuff….and find the perfect body to do it on (no pun intended)

The electrics have insane power. My TC4 (for sale) has a hacker/feiago motor and it moves…fast. With treaded tires, it will send chunks of rubber off in a burnout. Not to mention that they kicked me off of the carpet track for burning marks into the corners 😆

tires small nubbies might wear damn fast, their dirt grip is on par with the older but wider tires on hard dirt, grass…onnroad however they are not as good…i suspect the width of them is simply not good enough to lay down the power….but i do like the ½” offset rims(not as easy to mount as people say, but not bad either…but definatly easier to get the tires off, instead of boiling etc)…color and all is cool i think
im very temped to get a clear body, but i am shit at painting…so gotta find me someone who is good at it…
this one is cool…but too close to the original imho….would have to be something that sets it appart from the rest….and not necessarily the revo body….
was thinking something like a cuda, SS, charger some of those old style muscle cars….would like to do some speed runs with it too…and was thinking of something like the AUDI diesel race car that covers the tires and all…..so many ideas….
76.2 mph …not me just been reading on the traxxas forum about the fastest revo….that is fast….on freaking wallmart tires, and with teh extra weight of a gps onboard

I had the E-Maxx but with 2X castle creations 7700kv Motors and 2 Mamba Maxx speed controllers. My intent was changing them out for the Mamba Monster Maxx system. But then I sold it to get my first Talon SS.
the mamba monster setup is awesome…it owns the .21 nitro engines(thats whats in the 1/8 buggies right? its 3.5cc im sure…at least was)…no doubt….
just spend 45 minutes boiling the rubber of 2 wheels….gdang it…most of it came off nicely but about an inch on each tire that just wouldnt let go….

Antiroll bars all around will help considerably.
on pavement the centerdiff definatly put a stop to the insane wheelies which was getting old….also the preb work with the gorilla tape, keeps them from ballooning completely which is cool too….i managed to get the truck up on the right side wheels and just do a big circle with 2 wheels in the air…quite cool….more of an accicent than intentional….but once it was up there it was pretty easy to keep there….
but now the inner rear wheel likes to lift alot in turns….it did so with the old tires too but not as high….should i soften the antiroll bar….and if yes…the front or rear one ? or maybe both ?
i wish i could remember all the crap i learned 15 years ago….

hmm a little update….new tires are uhmmm pretty good on pavement….very grippy….but on dirt im not so sure the car sure likes to spin around, where the old tires liked to slide, so now if im not carefull it will do 180 degree….is there some way to cure or help this problem ?
