What scope dresses the Vulcan?

Sir Ville,
Are those Leupold Mark4 rings? What’s the height from top of rail to center of ring? As an exile Finn living in Sweden, have “His Holy Airgunness” ever had any experience with SPUHR rings? :biggrinn:
A much humble gratitude for your wisdom.
Vincent
^That scope looks tiny on the already short Vulcan. Mounting does look a bit odd though.
I just checked the mail box……………………. :sadn:
The short eye relief on the Connect takes no time to adjust – at all.
It doesn’t need any special rings either , see the pic below

Have purchased a Edgun 10-44 with side pa. As recommended by one of your readers. Living in EU cannot buy a Swfa in similar spec. Tried the above scope on my Cricket .22 , as Vulcan .25 not arrived yet. Very good glass with huge range of holdover. Nice click with positive turrets. Quality scope , especially light and short. Quite a rare scope even in EU land. Fast target acquisition with no zoom fiddling and short “Dope” card.
Length 330mm
Weight 600 grammes
Safe shooting
Gotta admit, I checked the web for info on the viper connect, and I liked what I saw! I think Ville is steering me right in this matter. I’m just wondering if it takes getting used to having such a short eye relief?
Its just too bad I dont have a chance to hop a plane to an island that has scopes for me to check out – just gotta rely on the web.
Sound like that corrupt Finn.
I’ll reply when I get Villes Connect…..That fat bastard just kept my money I know……sent me an empty shoe box with Hoot’s false teeth in it….
Bunch of questions for MTC Viper Connect users:
How “different” is the very short eye relief, did it take much getting used to?
Do you use special rings for the Viper Connect on the Vulcan?
The Viper is a few ounces heavier that for example the Hawke Panorama 4-12×50. Is the Viper much better than other 4-12 scopes?
The Falcon Menace based on its specs sounds like a log (long and heavy). I hope that 16″ spec includes the sunshade. You guys are mounting these on a bullpup?

I’ve played around with magnifications on my scopes and find that the ideal range for me is 3-18x. The trade off is for a shorter scope within a reasonable weight. 3-15x works as well but I’d like the extra mag if given the choice. With decent glass, 10x can work up to 75-100 yds but a sparrow at those distances looks pretty damn small. 15x is more suitable and 18-20x is great for those situations. The problem with going towards 20x and above is most scopes starts to get really long and cumbersome on a bullpup. It’s more suited for a rifle for benchrest shooting IMO.
It is an overkill but the scope is shorter than most 56’s i’ve had/have. I still think the Connect is the way to go. I was plinking a 1″ spinner located at 82m a while ago. Hit the damn spinner 17 times / 20 shots at 12x . I was surprised but as said the reticle is very thin and the glass surprisingly good on that little bugger.
I would also add for me the using any scope above 16X is almost impossible. In the desert the mirage is so powerful that it looks like opening your eyes under water. If I am going to buy a FFP then I have to have an expensive scope. I have been too disappointed with most scopes from China. I will say however I do have a BSA FFP 4-16 TMD and it’s been pretty damn good for the 180 bucks I paid for it.
yes that is the Falcon I am going with for now on the Vulcan there is a return policy, the Vulcan is smaller than my Marauder was as a bullpup, on it I had a hot 6 to 24 by 56 millimeter and yes it was a monster. it’s hard to find a compact scope with 15 to 20 Mag in my price range I don’t really want to spend more than $800
56mm objective on a bullpup? Isn’t that overkill?

The 12x is actually amazingly good upto 75-80 meters due the very thin reticule and ridiculously bright glass for the money.
And no – SFP. I don’t like FFP scopes myself thus i own none today.
Falcons are also OK scopes. I have just bought a new upcomer , Chinese Vector Paragon 5-25 x 56.
German glass and costs under 400 USD incl the freight. I just compared the optics against a Falcon in the same mag and the glass is, no wonder it being German, at least a notch above on the Vector.
The Chinese are getting better and better !

Yep. Mk4’s. I need to check the height. I have Spuhr’s on 3 of my PB rifles. IMO one of the very best rings available, although pricey ..
