Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… 😀

Guys:

Initially the idea was from my side to order two of the same kind for one spesific purpose: I wanted one for myself for testing and reviewing for my Norwegian forum friends (I am a global moderator/admin on the Norwegian forum: http://www.airgunworld.org), – and one to be circulated among RFDs of this country. I know a lot of them, and when I showed them the Lelya, – they were very impressed/interested…. 😀

Optimistic as I was at the time, – I thought I could help ED selling these guns in the Norwegian market place. Now, – with the delivery times and problems we all have seen, – this last option may have gone out of the window. At least for now…… 😥

May be in future …….. 😉

My R3s both look/feel/are brand new. If they appear “used” in my picture, – it is a result of my poor image quality……. 😳

One R3 is now scoped with Harris bipod added. I’m ready to go I think. Tried sighting it in by shooting from my window, – and I’m almost there. At least I know the R3 shoots very consistenly. There’s an old car wreck misplaced in a backyard about 60 mts from my house. The ten pellets I shot made just one small tiny hole in it’s back door…….. 😉

Too much wind to even think about taking her to the outdoor range, – so my own basement range (car park under the building) will have to do for the time being. Best time between midnight and 6 in the morning… 😀

Veles question: What sort of sights do you guys recommend ??? 🙄

Chers from very happy
Trygve 😀 😀 😀

– who is indeed grateful for all your good wishes and the time all you nice people have spent with me during my looooong wait. Without you and this forum, – I would not have survived I think……… 😳

OG, you are correct, I went back 12 pages and found he did in fact order two 22 standards… 😉

So the 25 R3 is a long configuration only?

I learn something here everyday!! 😉

Very good news…Enjoy now!

I doubt that .25 can be accurate in standard barrel same as in long.
.25cal need to longer travel trought barrel to receive energy and to stabilaze self. On Ed place I would try .25cal on even longer barrel. 😆

quote oldgoat:

Synopsys, IFAIK, Ed doesn’t make the R3 standard in 25 cal yet. Nik has talked Ed into making one for him…

Tedd, you are presenting me with the perfect chance to come up with some witty comment about your old age, Alzheimer’s, forgetfulness or whatever! I guess that I’ll let you off of the hook, THIS TIME! 😆

I told you what Ed told me, and this is different from what you are saying. Ed told me that there will be a few .25 R3 Standards made this time and he will be able to report on the performance after he tests them. I told him that if the accuracy of the R3 Standard is the same as of the R3 Long and the shot count is no less than 30 to 40 per fill I would change my order from Long to Standard.

So, please my friend, take your pills regularly not to let things get mixed up again 😆 😆 😆

Synopsys, IFAIK, Ed doesn’t make the R3 standard in 25 cal yet. Nik has talked Ed into making one for him. I’m waiting to se how that works out, I might have to order one myself.

If one isn’t a .177, Loco must have ordered a spare .22.

OG, I think one is a 22 and one is a 25…

I asked about a 17 caliber Matador and was told they are not being made in R2.5 or R3 config.

I was looking to use one for Field Target competition… I still hope I may be able to find a used one or maybe retrofit an R3 with a 17 cal barrel in the next year or so.

Zocoloco! They are here!!!!!

I almost don’t believe it, but it has actually happened!

Beautiful photos as usual. Can’t wait to see more photos and your testing results.

You owe your friend a beer I think, he called a miracle down from on high, I thought you were stuck once again and the saga would continue for a few more days or even weeks…

Congratulations on your new arrivals!

Hi Trygve. I am glad that you finally got your guns. Congrats!

Now, quit foolin around with the ladies long enough to shoot and post some groups!

Why 2 Matadors? Is one a .177?

neither matador appears to be “new”. is that just from your handling or do you suspect you were sent “used” guns?

A comparison between Veles and Lelya:

There’s not much difference…….. 😉

Very nice!

Exhibit 2 top & 3 bottom ….. 😉

Top gun with some nasty scratch marks on pistol grip……

Both guns arived with 200 bar fill and ready to go……….. 😀

(Sorry for the image quality, – but only one flash available…..)

quote zocoloco:

Exhibit one, – just done very quickly………. 🙁

I have other things to do right now……… 😉

😀 😀 😀

This is exactly what I am waiting for too!

.22 Standard Veles Kit !!! I want!

Exhibit one, – just done very quickly………. 🙁

I have other things to do right now……… 😉
