Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… 😀

i would not be surprised at all if the guns were unpackaged several times whilst on their infamous journey 😮

I sent an HW50s to someone in Scotland last month. The rifle was unpacked by UK customs for a security check and the result was a nasty scratch on the stock.

Absolutely right, at least German repacked it fore sure, they always do. As for the rust of the bolt I have no idea what condition it was hold in during this few months.

Hehehehe….. 😀

Well, yes it is a beautiful gun:

– but I am not happy with the scratchmarks on the grip:

– and not to mention the bolt and especially the bolt handle:

The latter is the worst I have ever seen on an airgun…….. 😥 Finish is virtually non-existent. It looks almost as if it has come straight from the casting mould, and ED hasn’t even removed the grades…… 😯

The scratch marks may have come during transportation, – but with the beautiful packing, – I don’t think so…..

That said, – so far so good. It shoots very well indeed, and I am a practical man. This gun is meant for the “rough” and this matches the kind of feeling I have when looking at it…..

Was it worth it ?

Only time will tell……. 😉

😀

Waiting for Godot 😆

I had a lot problem to import my Matador in my coutry, so all that deal is off untill we enter in EU too. sorry Nik 😆
Or untill EU collaps in few years, hehe

I doubt that .25 can be accurate in standard barrel same as in long.
.25cal need to longer travel trought barrel to receive energy and to stabilaze self. On Ed place I would try .25cal on even longer barrel. 😆

You may very well be right, but the EDgun’s original idea was to keep them as short as possible for quick shots out of a car window. I asked that really ancient goat, Tedd, to try shooting the R3 Long out of a truck window and he said it wasn’t nearly as comfortable as the Standard.

Of course, I’ll only get a .25 Standard if the accuracy is the same (or better :P) than of the R3 Long.

😉

For that I use my girlfriend to drive me arround and I just sit on my backseat and shoot like a mad 😆
rabbit on left—bam, crow on right— bang 😀
verry easy to shoot with long if you ask me. Other rifles are a lot longer then Matador long.
And once again, Zoco you lucky viagra addict I want that stock 😥
Cant stop look on it.
Ed you should charge extra for that stocks, I would pay 😆

No need to involve Ed into all this, Decan. Here is the deal I propose: You lend me your chauffeur for a month or so and I’ll talk Zoco into swapping his stock with yours. When you get Zoco’s Standard stock and find out it does not look good on your .25 Long, you let me have your R3 Long action and order a Standard length R3 action from Ed to fit Zoco’s stock. How does that grab you ❓

😛 😛 😛

PS. When Zoco finds out that your R3 Long stock doesn’t look good on his Standard action, he lets me have that action and orders an R3 Long one from Ed. Then he starts a new topic: “While waiting for my R3 Long action”.

😆

Decan, that is one VERY BEAUTIFUL stock indeed :8: :8: :8:

@Zoco: How does it feel, Trygve? I know it is a sod of a question to ask, but please tell us when you are ready to do so: Was it worth it ❓ ❓ ❓

OMG what a beautiful stock you got man 😯 😯 😯

When I first saw your rifles I was thinking mine stock is better looking, in this picture when you take picure from oposite side of your stock I get shocked 🙂
more pictures please 🙂
And one more thing, use some nature things like Cialis instead of chemicals like Viagra 😉

Trygve, don’t you think this is a bit too much viagra to take with you for one hunting trip ❓

Your dearest friend Nik 😆

You’re so right Nikky………. 😀

This is what I normally would bring, – roughly enough for a short day out……….:

I’m getting old, I know………. 🙄

???

😯 Purdy!!!

What are the four silver canisters in the beautiful leather case?

That wood matches the aged leather very well and the fur makes a perfect wintertime back ground.

But I have to be honest, the duct tape on the air tank is kind of killing the mood… 😉
