Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. πŸ˜‰

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… πŸ˜€

I didn`t think OG was that heavy.

My dear friend OG:

Only a couple of days ago this was expelled from your inners:

– and now all of a sudden you don’t ???? πŸ™„

I know the feeling OG and we all feel sorry for you. I have taken the liberty of booking time for you with my GP who is specialized in all sort of damage, – including that of the brain……….:

Be good to her………… πŸ˜‰

πŸ˜€

Nope, I didn’t. Kinda sorta!

I didn’t get a chance to send you the info last night after work as planned, I was trying to get my regulator R&R video finished and posted.

That video has turned out to be a HUGE pain in the ass! I could not get it to load on photobucket and I finally got it to load on you tube. It took 3 hours to get 3/4 of the way loaded before I left for work. I don’t know how long it took to fully load. I came home for lunch, saw that the vid was on you tube and I emailed mysely a link. The link will load and play but, when I try to get a link that I can post on the TAG, the link will load but will not start! WTF?

I don’t have the 50 and 100 yard fps numbers for either the 22 or 25.

Chairgun does have these numbers for the 25 R2.5, it came up with them from data that I fed it:

Muzzle V=890, 1 yard V=887, Far V- 140 yards=552. BC=0.0366

I didn’t shoot at 140 yards, Chairgun figured that out from the numbers that I plugged in.

For the 22:

890 MV, 887 @ 1 yard and 575 @ 140. BC=0.0400

Again, I didn’t shoot at 140 yards.

That day that I was shooting at the 3″ square stump that was 182 yards out, Chairgun was right on for the 25 R2.5.

Using Chairgun’s holdovers, the 22 R2.5 was shooting a little over 1 mil dot low. The 22’s numbers are obviously off and I need to put it on the chrony again. The 22 seems to agree with the chairgun POI charts out to 115-120 yards but, it could starting to be off and the error could be masked by the group size.

BC will be a little different for each gun and elevation, wind speed, wind direction and tempertaure will change BC also.

I DON’T bar hop! I have a local bar that I go to that is only 8 blocks away.

Thanks for the idea though! I think that I will go have a couple! πŸ˜†

quote oldgoat:

…… I can post the BC for the 22 and 25 later tonight. I will look for the 0, 50 and 100 yard speeds also.

@OG:

Did you forget me ? πŸ˜‰

I know bar-hopping may be hard on your brains, – but please:

When you have the time…. ?

πŸ˜€

Ahh… The good life! Verry Nice! (Β‘BellΓsimo!)

You’re into blending also Zoco?
A bit of Tonemapping… Nice!

Hey Loco, I am at work right now. I can post the BC for the 22 and 25 later tonight. I will look for the 0, 50 and 100 yard speeds also.

I have used the Hawke BRC software, it is more for firearms. I just use Chairgun now.

Used one a few weekends ago for a FT match, awesome scope. πŸ˜‰

At 80x magnification it is insane… πŸ˜€

They have an magnification of 80 also πŸ™‚

True, Zoco is not as young as you, but he is not THAT OLD as to need a magnification of 80. Still, if he carries on with his lewd practices he may soon be needing an x80 mag to see what he is aiming at πŸ˜†

That damned trouble making Nik πŸ˜† asked on the Yellow, what scope people recommended. A lot of people said that the Bushnell Tactical was the scope to get. I posted that I liked the Hawke. They really let me have it! 😯

Nik actually called me up tonight and we talked “BB Guns”. He said that he had bought a Hawke HK 4026, the scope that I am talking about, and he said that he really liked the reticle.

Tedd, I had a Bushy like yours and Loco’s. Paid for it $600, didn’t like it and sold it for $650 (in Euros) to someone in Europe. I now have a Hawke 6.5-20×42 and his bigger brother, the 8.5-25×42. Love both of them for holdover application, and also for jobs in the dark with their lighted reticules. I have also a Bushy 4200 6-24×40 side focus, a very light and VERY RELIABLE scope made to last for billions of clicks but it needs a large elevation knob and a ballistic package that Yrrah has promised to guide me through.

πŸ˜‰

quote oldgoat:

……. When I initially set up Chairgun for both, it gave a higher BC for the 22. I chronied both of them at the muzzle, 50 yards and 100 yards and plugged the numbers in…….

@OG:

Another question for you my friend. Got both versions of Chairgun up and running finally, but cannot figure out what kind of pellet they’re using for cal.25 in the std caliber option in the new version. You said you chronied both cal.22 and cal.25.

With what pellets and what were the fps for both of them ? Preferably if you please: Muzzle velocity, velocity @ 50 yds as well as 100 yds…

I’ll use that to calculate my own BCs and compare with the std. BCs in the old Chairgun…….. πŸ˜€

Thanks a million……..

Cheers πŸ˜€

DO IT
