Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… ๐Ÿ˜€

How is that possible the scope is that cheap????
Sure it’s no immitation?? ๐Ÿ™‚
Because I don’t find ANY Ior scope less then 1000โ‚ฌ (+- 1200$)

Valdada is the official US-importer……….

Most likely a mistake on their website/e-shop program……. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As my laptop has been set up with regional settings for “Norway”, their shopping cart shows currency in Norw.Kr……

Would be fun to test it out though and see what happens if I try to complete the transaction………. ๐Ÿ˜€

DO IT!!!
If succeed, you have a MONSTER sope for NUTS!

……. I had the Chairgun range sheets taped to both guns. When I initially set up Chairgun for both, it gave a higher BC for the 22. I chronied both of them at the muzzle, 50 yards and 100 yards and plugged the numbers in. Chairgun gives a POI of 117 yards for the 22 and a POI of 115 for the 25 at the first mil box.

OG and others: Which version of Chairgun are you using ?

I just tried to download the new BRC and it installed itself nicely, – but when I try to run it, – I get first this lovely postcard from Bill Gates and his friends:

– and then seconds later another one:

– but a solution did they not come up with……. ๐Ÿ™„

I do appreciate to receive “postcards” but the ones received from Uncle Bill will not put him on top of my will….. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

The old version works just fine……..

And environment on this laptop is: Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2, 32 bits.

Anybody any suggestions ?

Thanks and Cheers….

IOR Scopes are really cheap in the US…….. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ :

If I convert the price stated in Norw. Kr. into USD, – it will be approx. USD 615,- !!!! ๐Ÿ˜›

Unfortunately they only ship to the US……… ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Anybody willing to receive it on my behalf and send on as “gift” to Norway…..? ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ˜€

But is it in stock ???? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

๐Ÿ˜€

If you reaaaaaaaaaally are interested I can ask…..

And if realllllllllllllllllyyyyy interested, I think he can do something on the price too…

quote kazzz:

That price is ALL IN, so VAT etc in ๐Ÿ™‚
If you buy it, I will deliver it at your house personally, so no shipping costs! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you think he will throw in a tin of pellets and some high mounts if you pay cash ???? ๐Ÿ™„

As for delivery: If to be delivered by your charming wife and by armoured veichle, – you may have a deal……. ๐Ÿ˜‰

But honestly, – does he have it in stock ? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

๐Ÿ˜ฎ

You read my mind, almost!
That in BLACK stock is idd not for from my wet dream.

That price is ALL IN, so VAT etc in ๐Ÿ™‚
If you buy it, I will deliver it at your house personally, so no shipping costs! ๐Ÿ™‚

So this is the wet dream then:

And it does not even have tall mounts……… ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

But the price seems ok !

Only 4.500 Euros……..!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Add freight and VAT to that and you’re good to go…..

– into the Guinness book of records……. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Hmmmmmmmmm……

What was it Liberace once said…: “The difference between men and boys is merely the price of their toys”

๐Ÿ˜€

I have the medium mounts, but only for the view..
The high mounts are really ugly on the mata, in my opinion. But the highs are more comfortable.

But again, I would buy in the MAX 500$ range the Falcon. 2nd place of all other is the Hawke TAC 30, not saying I’m not happy with it!

In the higher price range, it would be the oir!

or maybe just to fool around a nightforce ๐Ÿ™‚

Loco, I forgot to add about the mounts. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

When I got my first Edgun Matador, I tried mid and high Leapers mounts. The high mounts worked a lot better for me.

Back to the story about shooting at the 3โ€ square stump that was sticking out of the water. My buddy was shooting my 22 Matador and I was using my 25.

Before I left for the weekend, I took both guns to the range and made sure that they were sighted in at 50 yards. Both guns have the same Hawk HK4026 scope.

When I got challenged on that stump, I used the app, got the 8 X mag and holdover and compensated for the slight right to left breeze. Hitting that stump was surprisingly easy! I missed the 5th shot as the wind had died down and I shot to the right.

My buddy asked what mag I was on and what holdover and windage adjustments to use. He was shooting low and to the left. He tried a few shots and kept hitting the water in the same place. He then started walking the POI into the stump. He then tried my 25, with the holdover and windage that I gave him and hit the stump for the next couple of shots.

He said that the 22 needed more elevation and windage to hit the stump than the 25 did. I didnโ€™t try the 22 to see how it would do. I now wish that I did but, I think that the 25 is less affected by the wind than the 22.

Since I got my 25, I thought that it needed less windage compensation that the 22 did. I could be totally wrong on this, it wouldn’t be the first time! ๐Ÿ˜†

I am very slowly improving my shooting ability. I have made far longer shots with my 25 but, I didnโ€™t really try to wring out the 22 either. I should have tried the 22 that day and I should also have had the 25โ€™s camera on! We have made plans to go down there once more this year. Of course, I wonโ€™t be able to hit that damn stump once the next time!
